  1. I know what you mean. It's going to be an expensive January.! These things are going to see out very quickly I think
  2. I was under the impression that this was going to be discontinued at the end of the year. I almost came close to buying it a couple of months ago but on further looking at it I just couldn't justify the price in relation to the overal size of it. It's not a massive set is it.? Also I don't think there's enough exclusivity in relation to mini figs anymore. I'll be giving it a miss but really hope there's an ultimate Jabba's Palace or Cloud City

I'm guilty of this but purely for the reason that in my flat I didn't have space to build them and display. I mainly use my Lego for animating but I also enjoy seeing the angry reactions from my brother Vindice who even though has much more Lego than me hungrily eyes up my unopened sets.
  4. I just still can't see this license happening. Would be great if it does but I think in some ways it's still too adult for kids
  5. Thanks for posting the pictures. The detailing on the new range of figures are fantastic in my opinion
  6. So if you want to buy an unopened box do you go to the retailer and order one and are they any cheaper than buying as singles..?
  7. It's getting worse for me I think. I've bought at least 12 figures in the last 7 days just purely on a whim at Tesco.. I don't think I have a problem (although my wife may disagree.!) It's not as bad as my brother's (Vindice) yet..!
  8. I went feeling for Cleopatra last night (actually not a bad name for a band). I know I didn't get it but i found at least 6 'Sherlock Holmes' figures which if I went with the 'pot luck' method would have made this man one angry individual! As mentioned in another post I will continue to do the bag feeling with no remorse as at the end of the day I'm the customer. I actually found a couple of opened bags and the contents dumped in the box which I feel is too far. On a different side though, how do you buy a whole unopened box..? May do this for the next 2 waves
  9. I don't think this is any different to when we used to buy football stickers in that it's total pot luck. I think if someone wants to spend the time feeling/fingering the bags then more power to them. Plus with the way finances are I, as a 'bag feeler' feel I have to be as careful with my cash and begrudge getting unwanted duplicates like I did last week (2 Sherlock Holmes and 2 Cavegirls)
  10. I agree with you to some point but if a kid just picks up a bag out of the box he stands a very low chance of getting what he wants anyway doesn't he. I have to point out though that I only get single figs and not into the whole building of an army. I'm loving these personal stories though and I agree I think this deserves it's own thread

    Sounds good to me.!
  12. Oh dear. May have to train the wife on how to search for figures.!
  13. What a great idea. I agree though that this set is awesome. Just wish there was a better way of figuring out what figure is in the bag without having to feel the contents which does get some strange looks from passers by in Tesco. I have to admit there is something seedy about the process
  14. Just got a link to this from Vindice. So glad he sent it as this really brightened my day. Thank you for posting this. Awesome work so far and love the detail and technique for creating the river Awesome stuff
  15. Really good selection of figures and I really like the Commando droids. Thanks for posting the links
  16. That's a good point about the vehicles and the molds. If they did do this they could at least get 3 years worth of lines out with maybe LoTR next year, followed by 2 years of Hobbit sets. There are some amazing prospects for this range though, although I'd be surprised it would happen seeing that there's the massive Marvel/DC range next year
  17. Finally picked up Luke's Landspeeder which was a bargain in ASDA at £12.50
  18. I wonder what the basis for discontinuing a range is..? Is it money or the amount of external support the line would get (i.e. film or TV series). Star Wars is well catered for having both the Clone Wars and the 3D re-releases over the next few year. But Indy and PoP may not have ended so quickly if the last films were better received. Sadly with Potter there's no more films, the second game will possibly be the last one, and no more books. It's sad as the range is very well done, but the odds are stacking up against our favourite brick wizard. I hope I'm wrong though
  19. That's a good point about if there's a tv series based on it.
  20. I think we would only see something from the KOTOR game as a special UCS. I would doubt we would see a range as I imagine the game is more for adults. Would be cool though. I agree with you though I feel this is a good range that TLG are giving us.
  21. You have to remember that these are aimed at kids and not collectors. I can understand their new 2 against 2 logic and I think it's OK given what the price will be. If you want more buy multiple sets. I like the ideas of some of the new sets and overall I think it's a good crop. Well happy with the amount of OT stuff. I didn't buy a Y-Wing so will probably get that. I'm intrigued that it includes a Ceremonial Leia though as she didn't wear the outfit during the Yavin battle.
  22. I'm really liking the sound of the 9494 set. That will be a definite purchase

I'm going to have to think long and hard about the Echo Base. I wasn't overly impressed with the design but I sure like that Bacta tank and figures..! I also think when we refer to Woolies in relation to SW sets we should now call the store 'Wookies'.! (just a thought)
