Future Set Wishes and Speculation
Rygar replied to SheepEater's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingYou have a point, but I'm not a pro like several users here. I'm just a "customer", I can "try", but please, don't blame me. :( First of all, this set could be "license free" (like the bucket wheel excavator). China is developing its own version. The model could be cheaper. In this forum, in Youtube and in another Lego site, some people are made some interesting MOCs, so it shouldn't be impossible to make a set. Instead of pneumatic system I would like to suggest to use the linear actuators for the dump mechanism, so everything can be controlled via remote. 3 different steering modes... I think the real models have only one steering mode. New wheels with inbuild planetary gear reduction (or a planetary gear reduction that can be connected directly to wheels) is an awesome idea, they can be used for lots of vehicles as well. This would reduce the number of gears per axle and make the overall transmission more compact and functional, but if Lego doesn't want to implement this new feature, traditional solutions are possible. This is for the truck, I can spend some words for the other suggestions if you are interested.

Future Set Wishes and Speculation
Rygar replied to SheepEater's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling8479 was one of the funniest set of the past. It's a pity that Lego didn't make any "sequel" with the barcode reader. The cabin indeed looks quite similar, so the color scheme. And I agree, I am old enough (35 years old ) to appreciate that "old fashoned look". Studless bricks are fine, but they must be "balanced" better. A whole hull (in my opinion) shoould not be made entirely by stufless parts. It's more difficult to cover the gears and add further parts. "Integration" is the key word. For the rest, what do you think about my other suggestions? I like the idea od a snowcat set.

Future Set Wishes and Speculation
Rygar replied to SheepEater's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingIt's an ETF mining truck. This is a new generation of dumpers, made to overcome the limitations of the traditional dumpers, like turning radius, cabin's visibility, suspensions and overall versatility. The loading area can pivot and can dump sideways.

Future Set Wishes and Speculation
Rygar replied to SheepEater's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingMy dreamlist : Mining vehicles are my favourite at all and I hope to see some big (if not huge ) mining trucks like dumpers or haulers like these: and/or If we want to be more original, there is always a good alternative: Another awesome set would be this: Since the 8275 sounds expensive on Amazon, maybe it's time for a new bulldozer set, maybe like this: About "civilian trucks", some Lego Technic concrete mixers would be nice. A nice variant is the frontal discharge concrete mixer. And my dream car is the Bugatti Chiron.

Greetings from Italy!
Thank you. What I search for is about a heavy duty hauler like the model made by Han, but I would like to see a version with linear actuators instead of pneumatics. I have seen some nice variants but there are no instructions.

[MOC REVIEW] Grove GMK6400 Mobile Crane
Rygar replied to Blakbird's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI notice that the version without suspension doesn't need to "cut" the 5cm axle to get the 2,5 version. Is it absolutely needed to cut the axles in order to have a functioning version?

Thank you for your answer. Can I ask you how they should be assembled, for example? Just for curiosity: do you have a picture about your assembled remote controller?

Greetings from Italy!
Hi. My name is Federico. I am a new member of this community. I am 33 years old and I've always liked Lego Technic sets, in particular heavy duty vehicles and supercars. I am here because your interesting reviews and the MOC section. I was astonished about the Terex RH 400 and the Grove GMK6400 and I am starting to the research of all bricks/instructions. I hope to build them in reasonable times. :p What I would like to see as technic MOC with instructions? A cement mixer, A 8043 with pistons (is it possible?), a hauler (6x6 articulated with linear actuators instead of pneumatic), a dump truck like this http://imageshack.com/f/265/55485759.jpg I hope to learn a lot from you, in particular about those fancy programs. My best regards.

Sheo, your model is simply impressive and it's a pleasure to have it. I have one question. Where I can find the instructions for the remote control? It seems there aren't inside the "main" PDF. Am I wrong?

[MOC REVIEW] Grove GMK6400 Mobile Crane
Rygar replied to Blakbird's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThank you very much. I have installed it and set to "private user" (I hope it's the correct setting). I've insert the 42009 code and now I see all the parts. This is the first step. Thanks again. Now I would like to ask: is there the list of Grove GMK6400 in Rebricable, like this (http://rebrickable.com/sets/42009-1/mobile-crane-mk-ii-construction-2013#parts_list)so I can extract all the codes of the remaining parts? (sorry for my lack of experience)

[MOC REVIEW] Grove GMK6400 Mobile Crane
Rygar replied to Blakbird's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingHi everybody! I am pretty new to this community. This Grove GMK Crane is simply superb, thanks to Gerger, Afol1969 and Blackbird for their precious work. Sorry for my questions but: what are the most recent instructions to download? I have the 42009 set. Can I ask you where I can find the list of the "remaining parts" (with the quantities and codes) to make the "upgrade" to this gorgeous model? Thanks in advice!
