75827 Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters Discussion
No matter what lego releases, its likely not gonna touch sergios version, so this may in fact be a pass. Good thing cuz I still need a fire brigade haha

Is Millenium Falcon 7965 still the one to get?
Just sold my complete one on ebay for double what I paid years ago :) My advice, if you cant get or bricklink the ucs version, this is the next best thing...till we know for certain what tfa version will look like in lego form. Even then this will always be the second best version of the MF in the OT line, so there's that.

BrickLinking (another) 10179 UCS Millennium Falcon
Happy to have finished this project already, as it seems more and more people are attempting this; likely making it even more expen$ive than it already is :) Good luck to all and don't forget to post pics! Also, big thanks to lobot, schneeds, scottishdave, dagsbricks etc, for all the wonderful and incredibly useful information they posted in earlier threads which is essential reading before embarking on this. Brickstock is also a must. Setting a target price range is practical, as it likely will be exceeded, however the key is to not go over by too much ;) I think roughly $800 if starting from scratch is reasonable, however if you wanna get fancy adding og minifigs, light bley/gray levers, etc, cost will quickly go up...I ended up doing this as I felt my model needed it, however be careful w/ minifig sellers as I got hosed 2X on a supposed "original" obi wan minifig...

How do you build your Lego sets?
I prefer numbered bags as ive become lazier; building a bricklinked falcon as well as other projects wo numbered bags can be a royal pain in the megablocks. So much so that sometimes its faster for me to go cannibalize other sets looking for one part i know i have, versus looking for hours for that one piece sitting amongst 5000 others... Oh snaps it automatically autocorrects curse words. would never have thought to replace a$$ w megablocks haha

My attempt at a 10179 UCS Millennium Falcon!
Definitely a fun project, and when finished all those countless hours spent bricklinking etc will truly make it worth it! Good luck!

Smelly Lego
Clutch, thanks a bunch Never thought I would be cleaning Lego before building haha, but you live and you learn. There's no way I could build without the smoke giving me a massive headache, and I even had to put the package outside of my room despite resealing it because it stunk so badly...

Smelly Lego
So what is the recommended/preferred way to get rid of smelly/smoky lego? Soak in a bucket of soap water for 24 hours? Dishwashing detergent? Will this cause color fading/bleeding of the bricks? Any help appreciated, thanks

Smelly Lego
Great post, just received a pckge that smells awful, ie smoke/tobacco. Someone else posted in the feedback of the seller that their pckge also smelled of smoke and sellers response was wood stove?! Wtf Gonna have to wash and soak this ish for like a wk at least. And cosine on the fact that sometimes you have no choice when the parts are super rare, and only few sellers have it in the quantity you need and are only available used. Still all in all, I would say this is an anomaly, as most bl sellers pckge nicely, and I have never detected a whiff of feline urine or human haha, at least i hope...
