When is the actual release date for the new Star Wars sets? I saw them in an Aussie retail store today @ 20% off. Unfortunately I was travelling and didn’t have room in carry-on.

It’s now on backorder in Australia but that doesn’t surprise me; Lego Australia are notorious for keeping low stock.

The ISD is available to purchase in Australia now with a limit of 2. A SW themed promotional item would have been nice on such an expensive set.

I’d still put money on the first batch selling out very quickly. I’m sure there are enough fans (and opportunistic flippers) with deep pockets to ensure that.

Yes, specifically this thread. The other set discussion 'threads' in other forums such as Harry Potter just seem like a friendlier place is all.

People are entitled to an opinion. It’s a ‘discussion’ forum and not everyone has to share the same view. For some reason there seems to be more hostility here than in any other forum. I think the problem is that TLG set the bar very high for large UCS models with the 2017 Falcon. But that’s just my $0.02. I personally can’t wait to get The Devastator. I do have the (not-so-small) issue of trying to figure out where the hell to put it.

Other than double VIP points on the weekend of release of the The Devastator are there going to be any gifts with purchase? The Endor set would be nice but that looks to be a Triple Force Friday exclusive. Possibly that elusive 20th anniversary Obi-Wan polybag?

Stonewars have a nice size comparison table...I think it was linked above. It’s dwarfs the footprint of the Falcon and is only 0.9 kg less in weight.

Way smaller than the Falcon? Based on what? It's larger in every dimension by a fair margin. The ISD is 110 x 66 x 44 cm and the Falcon is 83 x 61 x 21 cm.

Comparing weights vs Australian rrp it actually works out slightly in favour of the Devastator. Naturally the price is still a bitter pill to swallow but price/piece is largely irrelevant here. For future UCS set Easter egg theorists (and those triggered by those theories) has anyone else noticed the half-built AT-AT on the rear box art?

You're right. The yellow and red bricks that are clearly visible between the gaps at the rear are jarring once you notice it.

TBH I'm a little underwhelmed now that the full images are available. I was hoping for more SNOT to differentiate it from the original but that would have massively increased the part count. Still, a very impressive model.

That sucks. 75192 MF is regularly 20% off in Australia and has been as low as 30% off recently.

It looks glorious! I can’t wait for the official images. I love that they’ve incorporated the bottom hanger bay to accommodate the Tantive IV. Given it’s ‘The Devastator’ it’s odd if they haven’t included a Vader minifig. They could have gone with an exclusive variant.

It’s only 4 hours until it ticks over to the 5th Sept. in my part of world so it looks like TLG have managed to hide one of the biggest sets of all time from leakers. Well played.

Can we at least wait for the reveal and then give an opinion on whether it is worth the (still unofficial) price? There are so many factors that determine ‘value’ and it’s highly subjective. I, for one, have not been this excited about a SW Lego release since 75192 UCS MF.

I wish it was a bit smaller than the original...anything over 100cm ain’t going to fit in my display cabinet. With approx. 72 hours before the official reveal and still no images, I’m hopeful TLG might actually pull off a leak-free miracle!
