LvdH replied to Polo-Freak's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThere is basically 0% chance a Technic part will win. That being said, this part would be game changing:

LvdH replied to Polo-Freak's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingIn very few cases maybe. The middle axle hole doesn’t support an axle going through (only 1 stud on either side), and of course the middle part is also sticking out half a stud. The Cada liftarm is just a standard 1x3 liftarm except with axle holes.

[CADA] CADA General Discussion Topic
You don't need a math PhD to see that doesn't fit But I forgot about that. There are definitely more things that don't quite fit, but none as bad as that one. I think I fixed it in mine with a 2L black pin and a half pin and didn't think about it any further...

General Part Discussion
LvdH replied to Polo-Freak's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI’ve tried ordering some of the new parts from the Ferrari, but all I got was a semi-official confirmation via mail that new parts are only available to purchase from Pick a Brick three months after release. Of course we’re now 4 months after the release date of the MCL36 McLaren, and none of the new parts are listed so we’ll have to wait and see if that’s any different for the McLaren. Roughly translated email below:

LvdH replied to Polo-Freak's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI’ve already ordered and received 100 of them For some reason Bricklink sellers haven’t caught up to the fact that those bushes are now 5 cent parts.

LvdH replied to Polo-Freak's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThose dark blue pin holes are holding the ratchet mechanism. If they were 1x1 liftarms there would be no way for them to be attached to anything, and thus just floating around.

LvdH replied to Polo-Freak's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingPlate with pin hole most likely. You can also see them holding the reel. How could they even be 1x1 liftarms? They wouldn't be attached to anything.

Koenigsegg Regera (Instructions for Manual available on rebrickable)
LvdH replied to DugaldIC's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingTo be fair, mine has been sitting on a shelf for 2 and half years. It might have worked better when I first built it, but I can’t remember. I think it does matter, because it’s not just one person designing or figuring out solutions to problems. It’s a team of people with all the resources we could only dream of. All those people have different ideas, solutions, suggestions, etc plus years of experience.

Koenigsegg Regera (Instructions for Manual available on rebrickable)
LvdH replied to DugaldIC's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingYou mean we’re putting higher expectations on a multi-billion dollar corporation with a team of designers than an individual building in his free time? Sounds quite normal to me. Besides there are probably thousands of Lamborghini Sians or Bugatti Chirons built for every Regera, so complaints will just be fewer

The paint looks great. I just don’t think it looks as good as silver under this car. Maybe if the car was yellow or white it would look better.

LvdH replied to Polo-Freak's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI wouldn’t be so hopeful I also broke the system during the switch to PaB by going to the B&P URL, and ordered a bunch of the new parts: black 3x5 frames, blue 1x2 panels and the black connector with 3 axles at 120° angles. The new orange and blue parts from the McLaren were also available as well as the 3x19 frame, but did not order them.

LvdH replied to Ngoc Nguyen's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingBlack might be cool, but imo they already look great in silver. Are the new ones good btw? All of mine came with scuffs around the edges, so I’ve also mailed them. I just hope they don’t send the same damaged ones like they did with the discolored lime parts in the Sian.

LvdH replied to Polo-Freak's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingSo did mine, but this morning I received the invoice so I checked the website and it said it was shipped. I couldn’t see a date so it could have been one or two days ago as well.

LvdH replied to Polo-Freak's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingHas anyone ordered from PaB in the last few weeks? My order from May 30th just shipped today, and I’m wondering if I simply got lucky or if they finally got their act together.

42143 - Ferrari Daytona SP3
LvdH replied to Ngoc Nguyen's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI think you misunderstood me. A brake rotor is basically just another word for a brake disk. So your comment would be correct if I were spinning the brake rotors (disks), but as I said above I was basically spinning the engine via a gear directing connected to the crankshaft (just two u-joints in between). Therefore shifting up should result in a faster turning rotor.

LvdH replied to Ngoc Nguyen's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingHas it been mentioned that the paddle shifters are reversed? I've never driven a paddle shift car but I'm pretty sure that pulling the right paddle shifts up and pulling the left paddle shifts down. So if I spin the blue gear that is pretty much directly coupled to the engine, and shift up by pulling the right paddle, the rotors would rotate faster. But this is not the case, as they're rotating slower.

42143 - Ferrari Daytona SP3
LvdH replied to Ngoc Nguyen's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingIf you ignore every imperfection, it’s perfect But seriously, that sucks and imo unacceptable in a set like this. I’d contact LEGO. You’ll probably get a free wheel or even set of wheels, no questions asked.

42143 Ferrari Daytona SP3 Mods & Improvments
Connectors could work, but I wouldn’t recommend it. Connectors can pull apart, whereas the MLA is one piece. As you might know the actuator portion can rotate freely without extending if the DBG pin hole is not fixed. So the MLA is used for two things: the LBG part is used for the actual shifting, and the DBG part is used because you need to be able to connect something to the steering wheel that rotates but is also sturdy enough to transfer the force of pulling and pushing. It’s an extremely clever mechanism that’s way ahead of what LEGO offers imo.

42146 - Liebherr LR13000
LvdH replied to Ngoc Nguyen's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI swear it was 2023 when I posted my comment So still something to look forward to I guess. The initial price was USD. Maybe the conversion rates just work out in our favor for a change.

42146 - Liebherr LR13000
LvdH replied to Ngoc Nguyen's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingAccording to PromoBricks this will be a August 1st release… of 2023. https://www.promobricks.de/lego-technic-2022-sommer-neuheiten-2/145176/ Scroll down a bit, the LR13000 is listed but with a release date of 01-08-2023. The price also seems significantly lower as I remember this being listed as a €600 set. It’s now €450.
