  1. What an amazing fleet of buses! The colors and decals are fantastic! Let's all hop on and take a trip. :-)

gotoAndLego -- The roof on the underside is the same as what's on the front of the arch entrance. It's a bunch of alternating 1 x 2 hinge plates. Here's a pic for you. If you have any other questions, just ask!
  3. What a great exercise! Those are fantastic recreations of the original images and lighting. I also enjoy the behind-the-scenes images showing how you do it. Very cool.
  4. Cool! So, how'd ya do it?

That has some great depth to it. So many cave MOCs are very shallow. You're definitely "feels" like a cave. Awesome!

Hah! And I need a bigger house for room to build and to store all my bricks. :-) I worked on that roof throughout my build. I had several versions along the way. I never could quite figure out what was on screen. There are no good views of it. My symmetrical versions left large gaps between the plates that I didn't like. In the end, this is where I landed. What's the saying? "You never finish something, you just walk away from it." After wrestling with LDD as much as I did to create all of the angles required in this building, I decided to keep what I had at that point. No one was supposed to look at it as closely as you did. :-)

Wow! Kodlovag, that looks great! I'm amazed that you actually built the largest movie "modular." Wow, again! Congratulations on your prize. Good choice on using the masonry bricks--they look really good. The "Breakfast at Tiffany's" sign is a nice touch. I like how you did the roof on the center tower. It looks much better than the one I did--much cleaner. I also like how your central stairs go right up to the doorway on the roof. It all just works together. The construction scenes add a great story to it. I'm very glad you posted these. I had a reminder on my calendar to send you a note to see how it went. It was a pleasant surprise to see them. I'm curious if you had any challenges transporting it. JLSD--Glad you enjoy seeing these as much as we enjoy making them.

Getting around to an update to Emmet's Mech. Added a few details to the controls and finished the treads and details on the feet. Okay, BlackStar--back at ya! .lxf file: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Xon67/Movie/movie_emmetsmech_2016-03-14.lxf

What a great concept. It not only looks great on the outside, but has an inside that works as well. Very cool!

BlockLogo--The ground floor, not counting the patios, is 168 x 168. Most of the facade is SNOT and measures 176 studs tall. 16,854 bricks. It's my single largest build so far. Actor Builder--Yes, it is! And this is just the front portion of the building in the movie. The full building is close to 3 times as wide! LegoKing--I haven't posted all of my builds. The ones I have posted are on the first page of this topic.

"You don't know me, but I'm on TV, so you can trust me." Here's the exterior for the coffee shop in my last image post. If you look closely, you can see the coffee shop interior through the windows. This build is primarily of a single building in downtown Bricksburg with a few details added from other buildings. It is only the front section of a much taller structure--the scale of the downtown buildings is _really_ enormous. The billboards and jumbotrons are mosaics made from tiles.
  12. A great looking modular. The workers add a really interesting story to the build. Thanks for sharing!
  13. What great vignettes! That is one of my favorite minifigures. If you ever come up with any more adventures, they would be great to see.
  14. What a fantastic series! They are all great. I especially enjoy the Tower of Pisa--what a great addition! Legodelphia is absolutely amazing. For whatever reason, this project made me think of a possible architecture series of my own: "Outhouses of the Midwest" (in micro scale, of course). :-P

The screenshot option... I've seen it but never used it. Thanks for letting me know! I'll have to try it out now. It has a nice look to it. The exhibition sounds great. I would think that two work-in-progress pics won't disqualify you. I won't bother you for any more pics until it's over. If you are up for it, I would like very much to hear how it goes for you--especially when your entry is accepted! :-)
  16. Hi ezaida18--Thanks for the post! While I don't pretend to know what the LEGO Company has planned, If I had to guess, they are probably done with this particular Scooby short and are probably planning new sets for the next Scooby short that they announced recently. I haven't seen any Scooby / Monster Fighter mash-ups, but it would be cool to see!

Hinckley--I wasn't aware there was a facebook page for the Town theme. Good to know--thanks! pittpenguin123 & -Noel- -- Thanks for the comments, I appreciate them! Holodoc -- I start with the original LEGO set instructions and screen grabs from the movie. If I need more references when something isn't shown very well in the movie, I look at behind the scenes shorts. If that doesn't work, I view youtube videos of the LEGO Movie video game. BrickFit26 -- Thanks! If you are referring to the images a couple of posts up, those are from kodlovag, who has been adding interior detail to one of the Bricksburg buildings. kodlovag -- Another great design! I look forward to seeing the physical build. I'm familiar with LDD and I know there are several other software tools for LEGO building--which one are you using? Your images have a very clean look to them. I got a note that this topic got mentioned on another website: http://www.tilesorstuds.com/2016/02/backyard-of-emmets-street.html
  18. Okay, I have almost finished the main mansion. I have reviewed almost all of the rare-colored pieces and have replaced anything that does not exist with pieces that do exist. (However--I can't guarantee how much they are going to cost.) Part count is at 11,307 for the greenhouse and mansion combined. I still have to work on the interior supports--right now the roof is mostly floating in mid-air--and finish the bell tower, which is going to be very large all by itself...

Thanks for all of the comments! kodlovag--Front page? Hey, cool! Thanks for telling me. Your floorplan looks really good. It's very straight-forward. I like how you kept the lobby with the mail boxes. Thanks for posting that-,I look forward to seeing more of it!

kodlovag--Welcome to Eurobricks! I'm so excited you are building the Movie Green Grocer! It's quite large for a (non) modular. You are welcome to post as many pics of it here as you like. I'm especially interested to see what you came up with on the inside. I think I posted here several times that the inside of mine is a royal mess. I built mine "hollywood style"--that is, it looks good on camera, but isn't very "functional." I'm also curious to see how you handle the center tower roof on the "hidden side." That was one detail I never could get to look exactly like the one on screen from all angles (assuming it wasn't changed from shot-to-shot). Thanks for your post! Let me know if I can help with any closeups of my build.

Wow! Great crystal structures, landscaping, shading in the water, lighting, and the figures tell a story as well. Great MOC!

Both of your buildings are awesome. I really like your color selection and the "crazy mess of details" (Chris Miller quote) that you put into each one.
