Any ideas on who the Lego designer could be of this set? Could it be Justin Ramsden?

[GBC] Akiyuki Ball Factory
Freezer118 replied to Berthil's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingYesterday I visited your LEGO World stand but the LEGO ball factory was separated from the GBC loop. Any specific reason the Ball factory wasn't working?

How to deal with the thieves
Freezer118 replied to Jeroen Ottens's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingHi Jeroen, I don't know if it's a 100% watertight protection against copyright theft but you should check out the pdf instructions from www.pv-productions.com. I'm not sure how it works exactly but when you purchase digital instructions the .pdf file will be watermarked with your personal name and date of purchase. Also it will be password protected. It makes it al lot harder for the copycats to distribute your instructions since it can be led back to them.

ISD Aggressor (Star Destroyer MOC w interior and instructions)
I really feel like a nitpicker but I found a teeny, tiny mistake in the instructions. On book 6, page 56, step 4 the 2x1 piece with clip should be facing the other way.

ISD Aggressor (Star Destroyer MOC w interior and instructions)
@Raskolnikov I have a question about the build. Is the upper part of the added section at Book 2, page 148 meant to be slightly tilted? I re-checked the steps but couldn't see anything wrong. On your pictures in the first post it look like it's not tilted.

ISD Aggressor (Star Destroyer MOC w interior and instructions)
Well, 28 bricklink orders later and I'm ready for building.. I thought. When you're ordering 15k+ bricks a mistake is easily made. I completely forgotten 2 lots (which are used in book 1 offcourse) and I had to re-order them so they will be delivered after the weekend. Postponing to start a build is never fun :( About the organizing part, I checked every order manually and directly separated every piece which goes into booklet 1 (thanks to the magnificent excel file from Rockpig!). I stored every order separately and when book 1 is finished I will do some sort of book 2 "order picking" at every bricklink order untill I reach book 8. This is probably 60% of the parts on the photo. Which raise the question from my side: Is there anyone who already disassembled his ISD? And did you make a big pile of lego of sorted the lego while disassembling? I can't imagine rebuilding this beast from a big, unsorted pile of lego..

ISD Aggressor (Star Destroyer MOC w interior and instructions)
I've ordered al 15k pieces over the last few days and everything will be deliverd in the upcoming week! My largest build ever was about 8k pieces and I've had no idea how to organize all the pieces on the table. Does anyone has a tip on how to keep the building process organized and fluent without spending most of the time searching for the parts, building the step, and start searching again for the next step?

Depreciation of Technic sets?
Freezer118 replied to aminnich's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI know my point of view is not the most popular, especially not on this forum. But a lot of people won't even buy LEGO in general due to the relativly high prices. I'm one of those persons but I can justify it by taking resell value in perspective. I currently own about 4000 euros worth (=cost) of Technic but the joy of building and owning the LEGO will NEVER be worth (=value) 4000 euros to ME.

Depreciation of Technic sets?
Freezer118 replied to aminnich's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingNobody specifies the number of previous owners so every set is a "second" hand set. If I would buy a second-hand 42055 for 200$ the resell value stays the same (excl. other factors like supply&demand and EOL). Thus I build and own the set for "free". But most of my sets are bought brand new because the excitement of opening a fresh box with sealed bags is worth the extra bucks.

Depreciation of Technic sets?
Freezer118 replied to aminnich's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThe only reason I can justify the price for LEGO Technic sets is the resell value afterwards. I think 280 bucks is way too much for the joy I get from building a set like 42055. But the reason I buy most of the Technic sets is because I know I can resell it for lets say 75% of the original price. In this case, 70 bucks is worth the joy. But once more, this is MY reason I buy them.

[PRESS RELEASE] 75192 - UCS Millennium Falcon 2017
The RRP price is 850 euros at the legoshop in the Netherlands. I know most Lego sets will be available at different shops (amazon, toy stores) but will this also be the case with the MF? Or will it be an Legoshop exclusive like the Saturn V? The real question is offcourse: Can I expect a price drop in a couple months at the Lego resellers?

[MOC] Crane Truck
Freezer118 replied to Lucio Switch's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingIf I split the total costs it would be: Bricks: 900 euro PF: 600 euro Sbricks: 120 euro Hoses: 40 euro S&H: 80 euro Which brings it to a total of 1740 euro. Yes, it's a lot of money but I hope it has some resell value because I can sell it 100% complete without having to remove any components belonging to other sets.

[MOC] Crane Truck
Freezer118 replied to Lucio Switch's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI've always been a big fan of BIG lego models so when I saw this beast I knew one thing for sure, I had to build it. I already owned about 94% of all the parts but didn't want to sacrifice any existing set so I decided to buy every piece new from bricklink and every PF (Motors, LEDs, extensions, LIPO battery, charger) directly from TLG. This way the MOC always stays 100% complete without having the need to disassemble any other set. Luckily I could convince my girlfriend I had to confiscate the dining table for about 2 weeks because there was NO WAY this could have been build on a small desk (at least not within the same amount of time). After you connect the front of the chassis with the rear part of the model it became so large i had to put it next to me on a chair to assemble the rest of it. At the picture you can see the starting phase of the build and about a third of the parts (the reds, the specials, and some refill bags) weren't even on the table yet because there were needed last and just couldn't fit. Well technically it could fit if you have a LEGO OCD where you want to allign everything perfectly but luckily I don't :) During the build my jaw did drop a few times on the table especially when you add the separate building stages together and finally seeing the sheer size of the MOC. The whole model is perfectly designed and very rigid. I honestly expected some difficuly building steps along the way because a MOC doesn't have to follow the "LEGO building rules" and should be foolproof. But the whole building process was very logical, made sense and was easy to follow. It really approached the real LEGO quality standard of building. My sincere compliments to you Lucio! I did however find some small flaws in the instructions and the part list. Part 99008 Technic, Axle 4 with Center Stop is included 7 times instead of 3 times. (4x in the XL transmission and 3x in the rear differentials.) Part 99021 Pneumatic Hose Connector with Axle Connector is included 26 times instead of 24. The pneumatic overview also contains 26 times this item. A minor flaw in the instructions: booklet 14, page 14. The channels of the IR TR don't match with the channels set on the IR RC according to the BI. This is only minor because it's easily adjustable. I finished the build but I'm still waiting for the last bricklink package which contains the wheels. I have attached my 4 unimog wheels for testing but it can't handle the weight of the vehicle so it is unable to drive and steer correctly unfortunatly :( Just waiting in patience.. Once again, my compliments to Lucio! It was a pleasure to build your MOC. PS. A small tip if you are gathering the parts. The red 3x11 plate is VERY rare (only 3 shops worldwide on bricklink with stock and very pricy)but it can easily be exchanged with a combination of red beams (3L, 5L and 7L).

New C Model for the 42042 Crawler Crane --- A really cool GBC model
Freezer118 replied to GBTechnic's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI think the July 2018 dates are more fictional and will change to a exact release date when PV is ready to release the GBC model. (instructions ready, GBC 100% functional etc.). Same for the 42052 GBC model.

New C Model for the 42042 Crawler Crane --- A really cool GBC model
Freezer118 replied to GBTechnic's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingMy main frustration with the build from a LDD file is the build order of some beams and pins. First you connect some beams with pins, it sort of "closes" and the following step adds a new beam or pin but you'll have to take the previous steps apart to add them. I not familiar with LDD so I don't know if the steporder can be adjusted but it is pretty frustrating. Also I'm missing some added information about timing. The 2 red swinging arms in the GBC11 (42054 GBC) can't just be connected, they need to be accuratly postioned so the ball will be picked up and transfered at exactly the right place and moment. In the GBC10 (42042) are also some timed mechanisms without the timing information.

New C Model for the 42042 Crawler Crane --- A really cool GBC model
Freezer118 replied to GBTechnic's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingMaybe a small, but important notice. The 42042 GBC is not a official C-model because is needs more parts than the original 42042 contains. If you create a BOM from the LXF file you will see some differences in part lists. Mostly pins like 6590, 2780, 32002 and 4274 and beam 40490.
