Vienna "Pseudomodular" (WIP)
Shortly after finalising my latest project (Modular Brick School on Eurobricks) I had the idea to - instead of once again creating a classic modular - try something different by recreating a street scene from my hometown Vienna in a "modular package", i.e. on a 32x32 baseplate with modular-style buildings. First drafts were quickly drawn but due to being a father of two small kids with an interest in a fair amount of other stuff (travel, photography ...) the project soon got abandoned. Fast-forward (nearly three years later - OMG) to mid of July 2018. Seriously bad summer weather in Austria and a lack of interest to head out someplace else forced us to bunker in and that's when I rediscovered my old drafts and resumed working on them - this time using Bricklink's Studio application. The WIP now consists of two buildings - one inspired by the still prevalent medieval buildings in Vienna, the other one in a more recent "neo-classicistic" / "Gründerzeit" style from the mid 1900s. At the very center there is a small park / fountain (which I basically took directly from 40221 Fountain). Not perfectly happy with that yet (as it does not really "connect" to Vienna), and hence will probably be replaced in future renditions. Also, both buildings are basically empty, so interior is yet to be done as well. I will continue to work on it over the course of the coming weeks and see where I will finally end up with ;) Hope you like it and feedback is very, very welcome! /hermez

[MOC] Bauhaus Modular Building
HI everyone, don't mean to annoy anyone, but while (finally) brick-building my latest project "Modular Brick School" I thought to myself: "Ah what the heck, why not putting up my Bauhaus Modular on Lego Ideas already." ... which I did in the end. So, if you like the building and/or already built it from the LXF file I shared on Rebrickable, please support and/or comment using the link below - it will be greatly appreciated :) https://ideas.lego.com/projects/157738 And now, off to finish off that school I began building over a year ago!

[MOC] [WIP] Modular Brick School
thanks! :) I don't have a city setup currently, just the PR, the DO and my Bauhaus Modular high up on my book shelf - the school will sit right next to them when I get around building it, so I might share a picture or two as soon as everything's finished :) Absolutely not, actually quite the opposite. :D Now I can't wait to get things started with real bricks. You are right - it does look off - and I won't touch my LXF file in order to add height to the first floor. Things will get ... complicated if I did I'll build it with an additional row or two. Thanks all for your great input.

[MOC] [WIP] Modular Brick School
Some low detail renders from the first and second floor: entry hall and staircase, teacher's office, classroom: chemistry and music classrooms: and a new one from the front (showing that the building is slightly asymmetrical) ;) total piece count after adding the interior: ~3.800. it's gonna be expensive building that thing. uff

thanks - made some adjustments to the roof - still not a 100% happy, but an improvement in my book ;) thanks! the cone should be quite solid actually - I'll see when I build it ;) thank you! :) the building will be incorporated in my modular street (and hence neither the sides nor the back of the building will be visible) - grey is simply cheaper than dark red :D yes, that's what I'm currently looking into - thanks!

[MOC] [WIP] Modular Brick School
Hi all! After the great feedback for my first ever MOC "Bauhaus Modular Building", I recently started working on my second: Modular Brick School There are 3 classrooms, a large staircase, a teacher's office and a small shop at the front, selling newspapers and refreshments. As of now - and because the half finished building is already well north of 3.500 bricks due to all the 1x2 dark red plates - I have no intention to build an interior for the third floor ;) // Still to do: - Rework the third floor's exterior and roof - I am just not happy with it - Finishing up teacher's office on the first floor - Finishing up classrooms on the second floor The school could as well be a Town Hall or Governmental building - what do you think?

Thanks so much :) Yes, that is one of the details I am not perfectly happy with - there are some visible gaps in the floor due to the underlying structure, and this just needs some rework. As this is my first modular building (I finished it in May this year), unfortunately there isn't a town yet - but there definitely will be one in the future ;) I am currently working on some sort of park / recreational area - let's see where this ends ;) That's right, there's a couch underneath the stairs (I guess you could sleep on it as well?!?) ;). I couldn't justify spending close to 25 bucks on the sand blue elements for the couch alone, so it's a mix of dark and sand blue ;) Also for anyone interested: the Bauhaus Modular's LXF is up for grabs at rebrickable.com (http://rebrickable.com/mocs/hermez/bauhaus-modular).
