Titanic
This is absolutely great! Even though I neither have seen the movie Titanic nor remember to have seen a picture of the real Titanic, I'm crazy about your MOC! Very good job. I like how everything is smooth and tiled! Did I mention the SNOT base? Or the nice use of strings? Enpaz

And the energy shield is like super-awesome. Great!

One very attackable merchant...
First rule about Project Mayhem: You do not ask questions about Project Mayhem! No seriously, because it would ruin discussion culture if everyone bumped topics when they felt like it. It would be veery hard to keep track of what's recent with the forum being flooded with posts you've already read a few times. That's the extreme case, of course. ;-) Just stick to what Big Cam said wrote and you'll be fine. Try only to bump when others also benefit from your bumping. On a side note, there's always the option of leaving the topic creator a PM if you've got a question.

Two Questions
I think so. The supplies ran out, and at this point they didn't see to getting new supplies as it wouldn't be profitable for them, simply because the colour really is not cheap. The colour just payed off for making a Maersk set. Noone would understand why they should spend more money on, let's say, a police car in Maersk Blue than a police car the same size in regular Blue. The colour's too expensive to lightheartedly use in normal sets -> they are just used where they are necessary (in Maersk sets) -> TLG doesn't make Maersk sets all the time -> no need for Maersk Blue when they don't do Maersk sets. In the end, they did give it one final production run, yes, but a second time in partnership with Maersk: and in all probability TLG didn't have to bear the full costs for the colour then. Remember: It was the Maersk Company who came back to TLG wanting to be promoted again (by a Maersk set). It's definitely Maersk who's got the "weaker brand", not the other way round. Most people who know Maersk also know Lego, but a much less amount of people knowing Lego know Maersk.

I'm selling LEGO Castle 6103 MISB
Don't you think 65 pounds is a bit too much? You probably won't get rid of it too fast... Well, it may be objectively worth that much, but collectors willing to spend so much money on it are hard to find, especially in a respectable time frame. Nevertheless, I have to say that the condition is excellent! Nice work if you are the one responsible for it having been preserved so well. Enpaz

8466 - selling or keeping?
Enpaz replied to blueShinyApple's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingDepends on how much you like the set. If it's just a "cool set that is going to be parted out after it's been built" I would sell it, as you can make profit and buy two new sets this size. If you like the model so much that you'd "display it all the time and never take it apart", definitely keep it. Additionally, if you're good on money at the moment anyway, then there's no need to sell it. Even I as more of a SYSTEM guy myself find the set to be pretty awesome. I do like it's "little brother" (don't know the set number by heart) better, though. Enpaz

2011 LEGO Cars 2 Discussion
I don't know whether those Cars sets are going to sell well! From the sound of it, they don't really appeal to me... but let's stay unbiased until clear pictures show up. Enpaz

What is ypur favourite Harry Potter Set?
For me it's a tie between the new Hogwarts castle and the Burrows.... meh, it's not a tie, I'll go for the Hogwarts: it's just a tad nicer with all that figs and the bigger size and it is the more classic of the two in my opinion, as it's more of an icon for the HP series. And all those great parts make me go . The Burrows is also awesome in term of parts, though... in the end, I say it's Hogwarts because: "You take a Burrow, and multiply it by four - now a whole lot of Burrows equals one Hogwa(a)rts" Enpaz

What are you listening to?
Nice, I like that too!

Two Questions
Probably those colours are more difficult to produce than others, obviously. For example, the colour Maersk Blue was discontinued because it's too expensive. I don't know the reason why. Enpaz

REVIEW: 6368 Jet Airliner
For those of you who wonder why the lightning is a bit strange sometimes... there was a person sleeping in the review room while I did this! Aaand I'm glad to see the Airliner enjoys good reception on this board. I also changed the title image to give you the full feeling of classicness. Enpaz

REVIEW: 6368 Jet Airliner
Thank you. Actually that's what they are kind of doing at the moment! Just take the shield prints in Kingdoms. They cannot go all classic, though because that would probably result in a loss of sales too. That's funny because I haven't had any such issue before. It like suddenly fell off. Cheers!

REVIEW: 6368 Jet Airliner
INDEXED by TheBrickster Welcome aboard and fasten your seat belts, today we have the... Set Name: Jet Airliner Set Number: 6368 Theme: Town Subtheme: Flight Pieces: 128 Minifigures: 2 Year released: 1985 MSRP: $12.75 Brickset BrickLink Peeron INTRODUCTION: I was never a really big fan of Lego Town, just as I have never been a fan of the 80s Lego sets. Most of them are just sort of too old in their looks. So while I don't remember how exactly I stumbled upon this set, when I first saw a picture of it some time ago, I immediately knew that I had to have it. Coincidentally enough and quite luckily, I found this like-new copy just shortly after on eBay for real cheap. Let's see how the Jet Airliner holds up in reality, especially for its age. It's almost antique, isn't it? *All pictures are links to their full-scale versions on my flickr* BOX: I adore those yellow LEGOLAND boxes. BUILDING INSTRUCTIONS: They are the fold-out variant. While they need loads of space when entirely folded out, they are rather small in closed mode. CATALOGS/ADVERTISEMENTS: Nostalgia, anyone? Also included is a piece of paper for ordering service packs. I didn't take a picture of it, though, because it really is not that exciting. MINIFIGS: These guys are fabulous, I definitely love them very much! The prints are great and both are classic and iconic minifigures. Not the "classic" like in old or sparsely detailed but more rather the one in timeless and lovely. Also, two is a respectable amount for a set this size. The civilian tourist dude is quite rare, as he only appears in five sets. The pilot guy makes a great German WW2 general. Oh, did I forget something? Of course there's no backprint for both of them, the set is from 1985! PIECES OF INTEREST: Everything is printed goodness. The rear stabilisator is unique to the set. THE BUILD:I took the pictures in an interval of 2 from the building plan (beginning with Step 2). Step 13 is included too for you curious bastards. As you'll see, the instructions move on quite fast! Seems like it's getting kind of narrow in there! Yes, the front wheel utilises a turntable. Oh, it opens! Oh, this opens too! THE JET AIRLINER: Nice from all angles is what I would say at this point... THE COMPLETE SET: In all its glory. A passenger looking forward to crashing, eh? Just kidding, of course: NO crashs with LEGO AIR! EXTRA PARTS: Can you read the LEGO? SOME "RANDOM" SHOTS: "My friend doesn't like you..." - you always meet twice in life! "Hey, Zidane! Psst... what about an autograph now? Nobody's paying attention..." FINAL VERDICT: Design 10/10: Great. I love it. A sleek and elegant plane, and that in the middle of the eighties? What else can one hope for? Minifigures 8/10: The set comes with two very nice minifigs. I know there could be a third passenger, but I am already pleased with what we have here for real. It could be so very much worse. Parts 8/10: If you're interested in building planes, the pieces are useful for sure. That being said, I wouldn't recommend buying a 25 years old set for parts only. Build 9/10: A light build without any difficulties. Although there are no advanced techniques that make you go Ahhhh, the construction is clever and well thought-out. It's great fun to build the Jet Airliner! Playability 8/10: It does not only fly but also roll smoothly! Come on, you gotta admit it, that thing is swooshable to the bone! Also, you've got two minifigs and two opening chambers. Price 10/10: The original retail price of 13 bucks was superb. For that little amount of money, the aeroplane is really big. Awesome value! I myself got it for under 10 euros. Overall 9/10: If you like Lego aeroplanes, then this is for you. It is a great model. If you've got a chance to get a good deal on it, don't hesitate to strike: snatch it before it is gone! The set really deserves the good marks it gets from me. I hope you had fun reading this review and I'm looking forward to hearing your opinions about the set. Yours, Enpaz And last but not least... PEOPLE INJURED IN THIS REVIEW: Stupid cheap plastic! That issue is getting serious...

The clone brands discussion...again
Here is my opinion on the issue: If you have a lego-like brand that can be used as a construction toy on its own, without adding any other brand to it, it's a clone brand. And thus frowned on with good reason, as they are just copying TLG's idea of success; not thinking of something new or revolutionary or whatever themselves. BrickForge is no such clone brand because they did come up with something new themselves, a niche in the market: producing items that are missing in the famous Danish toy company's huge range of pieces. You can't build a MOC with ten lampposts, can you? They really do only compliment, that's their business model. Up to now, at least - and I don't think this will ever change. Enpaz

[MOC] Peace is Bad for Business
I like this a lot! My only gripe about it is that the harpoon thingies doesn't look so good as sniper rifles... why don't you try the long Star Wars blasters? Much better if you ask me. Enpaz

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 4 discussion
Do I spy a chrome rapier there?? I think I need not tell you how awesome that'd be. Any opinions on this? Chrome/not chrome? Overall, series 4 (funny, I was about to type "season 4" ) is lovely! I've been waiting for an electric guitar for such a long time! Actually no, but only because I really didn't expect TLG to make one, so that's a positive thing. And the Frankenstein is great! Nice for those (including me) who missed out on the earlier Studios sets. Plus it looks muuch better now. Who I'm also very happy about (besides the Musketeer and the Punk Rocker) are the man in the safety suit, the French artist ("Comment-allez vous?") and the sailor. The Lego Universe (I think?) hair of the mad professor is also to my likin'. Enpaz

What did you buy today?
I have purchased some BrickArms at last which I'm very happy about. Looking forward to receiving them! "Patience is a great virtue, my young padawan" Enpaz
