  1. Not normal humans?? What is that based on? Where did you get this information?
  2. In case you haven't seen, the Battlefront II trailer has dropped. I immediately started thinking about potential lego sets. Right off the bat I'd love to see an Imperial Special Forces battle pack. I am not a huge fan of the special forces helmet design. I think they should have been a variation of the Death Trooper helmet. Seems kind of like a cross between the Sith Infiltrator and a Star Destroyer. Hopefully we get a little more information on size and scale. 3. I ended up replacing the wedge plates the same way. The only other piece I've found is the 2x1 inverted slopes http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=24201#T=S&C=110&O={"color":110} Lego really needs to get more of these pieces out. Rebrickable is really great for uploading LXF files to check the parts inventory against what Lego has produced, as well as outputting valid Brickstock and Bricklink parts lists.
  4. Just grab the contest edition, its on Dropbox. The changes are very minor and some of them include pieces that don't exist anyway.
  5. Also, 2x of this piece: http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=6106#T=C are in the model... but they don't seem to exist in red. What did you end up doing for your model?
  6. So, trying to see if I can figure out a way to fit in the fuel (or whatever they are) cylinders (reference shots) but I haven't found something I'm completely happy with yet. I think the 2x2 cylinders would be a little too big...
  7. First off, fantastic model, Your building techniques are on point. I did run into this though: An impossible connection that LEGO seems to be allowing. At first I fixed it by rotating the green and white pieces: But I think adding some 1x1 technic blocks may be the best solution...LDD doesn't allow these connections though. Any thoughts?
  8. Yes! just downloaded both. I'll probably be building this ahead of some of my own MOCs I need to buy parts for. I can't wait.
  9. See the first post for an update!
  10. Having some options between 1 step per page and cram as many steps as possible would be nice as well.
  11. I'm having some issues with generating high resolution instructions for print, there seems to be a max size on the bounding box for displaying the model. Anyone else run into this or found a work around? I'm creating 8.5 x 11 at 300dpi which comes out to 3300 x 2550 px. Model and part zoom is only 200... 12. The link should look similar to: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/281366/Imperial Speeder Transport.lxf The one you put is just the URL of the dropbox page when you are logged into your account. You have to get a public link for the file.
  13. Actually... link isn't working :/
  14. Cut apart and then... glue? with what glue? I think its going to end up looking terrible, to be honest. I think a better option would be to have a high quality 3D Print done in a translucent plastic.
  15. I am going to try and get up a final parts list this weekend. You can open the LDD file and create your own BOM within LDD but dropping the file directly into Bricklink doesn't work because of errors with LDD labeling parts. Not super interested in the chrome parts. Chrome parts just don't have that Lego look to me.
  16. Yes, I will definitely be using the BOM to compare from here on out.
  17. Ok, Bricklink orders came in, there were a few missing pieces (note: seems that when doing LDD -> BrickStock some pieces just randomly get left out...) but here are some quick pictures. Better photos (proper lighting) to come later. N1-2 by James Eilers, on Flickr N1-1 by James Eilers, on Flickr
  18. Ok, last update for tonight. imperial-speeder-interior-3 by James Eilers, on Flickr Also here is the LDD file for anyone that wants to play around with the model.
  19. Yes. All of this.
  20. Wow, awesome analysis! Ok, some updates on the interior and underside. imperial-speeder-interior-2 by James Eilers, on Flickr imperial-speeder-interior-1 by James Eilers, on Flickr imperial-speeder-bottom by James Eilers, on Flickr
  21. The Imperial Speeder Transport (not sure if it really has a name but this sounded good) from the Heir to the Empire comic book has always been one of my favorite speeder designs. Here is my take on it. Next step is to work on the underside and then flesh out the interior and controls. The front wind vanes are the one part I am not happy with so far. looking into other designs. imperial-speeder-front-quarter by James Eilers, on Flickr imperial-speeder-profile by James Eilers, on Flickr imperial-speeder-rear-quarter by James Eilers, on Flickr And the reference images from the comic
  22. Thank you all for the comments! Bricklink orders are on the way!
