JBTechnic replied to JBTechnic's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI've choosen a scale of 1:16 and needed to go for different tyres. What tyres are you looking for? JB

42054 - Claas Xerion 5000 - MODs, Improvements, Attachments, etc
JBTechnic replied to BrickWild's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingIn my opinion you can swap the blue ones with black ones. I wouldn't swap a blue one with a gray one...on my Xerion I swapped a gray one from the steering with a black one just to have a more rigid set up. Tolerances add up, leading to a wiggly set up. Unfortunately the 2L black pin with pin&cross axle is friggn expensive. JB

42054 - Claas Xerion 5000 - MODs, Improvements, Attachments, etc
JBTechnic replied to BrickWild's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI installed an air tank underneath and a pump for the supply at the front. That way I have air for the hitch and 2 air circuits for functions on trailers. https://m.flickr.com/#/photos/135236852@N06/23793564283/ Regards JB If link doesn't work, search for lego xerion JBTechnic on Flickr.

42054 - Claas Xerion 5000 - MODs, Improvements, Attachments, etc
JBTechnic replied to BrickWild's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling@Technicjb Thanks! I used two servos for steering and two Xl motors for driving. I planed to use a similar concept like on the 4x4 offroader with a servo and an extra motor to select the drive mode. I thought that if I have to use 2 motors anyway I'd go with two servos. So I got 2- and 4 wheel steering as well as the crab walk. For driving I have choosen 2 XL motors since I need enough power for trailers and/or other aux. I put 2 L motors on each side for lifting and turning the cabin, driving the compressor for the pneumatic functions. And I got a drive shaft to drive functions on trailers. I used the battery pack from the Lego train and put it under the hood up front. That way I could keep the hood slim compared to the TLG one. JB @Technicjb Thanks! JBTechnic replied to BrickWild's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingGood idea! Got a servo under each axis, pretty packed. Thinking of using a small linear cylinder fofor the front hitch...for this I think I do have enough space. Lego Technic by JB Technic, auf Flickr

JBTechnic replied to BrickWild's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingHi! I tried a pneumatic 3-pt hitch on my moc, pretty tricky since the cylinders are not the right size:

JBTechnic replied to Jim's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingHi! I don't think that you will find a straight scale....based on the wheels (107,4 mm) I came up with a scale of approx. 1:19 I tried to realize 1:16 on mine... http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=114518&st=75 JB
