  1. https://rebrickable.com/mocs/?q=Barad-dûr has a number of "backs" but they seem to recommend not using two sets as you need more rock at the back so the usage from the second set is in the 25% range.
  2. I did that - I went with all LBG to help the consistency unless there was a lego met silver part available. Lego uses LBG for its drum lacquered parts in silver and gold (if you rub them you will find that's what is under the paint). I'd avoid using anything dark - unless your going to prime first and then your going to get paint build up.
  3. I've ordered in from BL parts to swap out the brown/tans from the lower tiers for black (ditto any plates of LBG etc for black), parts to change the large LBG rock elements for smaller slope/wedges in DBG. and used the instructions to be able to add in and extend the tower at a few points. I did a mix on the TofO of extending the existing floors (its amazing how adding even a brick or twos height to each of the existing levels keeps the look but add up height overall) and adding new one floors, but for now Ill look to extend the tower about half a floor or so first up.
  4. My Orthanc is now at 52 inches tall....my 10333 plan is to do a new base (https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-187734/Tigerton_bricks/base-extension-for-barad-dur-10333/?sort_parts_by=4&sort_parts_dir=D#details), replace the brown/grey in the lower sections and then add height in the central tower with some grebbeling on the outside for now. If someone creates a good new section idea I might then put that in. I had not long finished a Barad-dur MOC (talk about bad timing but I only got the final bricks in March....hey ho) https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-126262/mielus/lotr-barad-dur/#details So Ill probably move the lava and walkway I added to the MOC over to the official set
  5. Or to provide a matching "half" to close the set into a full castle - some people did that back in the day with the TofO.
  6. Worth a try calling customer services.
  7. https://brickset.com/article/110497/get-ready-for-the-june-releases#comments "The new sets and products page at LEGO.com will be updated once they are all available, usually at midnight local time, and shortly afterwards our buy listings will be updated as well"
  8. UK order just placed, had 2 brower sessions open both queued, the second later one I opened connected first - order placed and Fellbeast GWP added....email received from lego so happy lad. Have you managed to order? fingers crossed for you - I find the Lego website so hit and miss at times like this.
  9. https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=7190-1 Bricklink has the full inventory for the set here.
  10. https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/forum/16-buy-sell-trade-and-finds/ I have used this before. But personally I find ebay to have worked out better for me - it probably depends on location - I imagine if I was near to London maybe it would have been different but not being that close to other members meant it was never really that easy to do. If your selling off any MOCs then there are some things to be aware of with using ebay - IP protection has long arms.
  11. https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-120702/alifornia design/rogue-one-ut-60d-u-wing-minifig-scale/#details My recommendation for you.
  12. Welcome to Eurobricks! PM sent to you - you may find some limts on your account as a newbie (check the new member FAQs). Nope no difference at all that I have noticed.
  13. Yup expensive and nope not many! PM'd - yup echo your comments on parts and sellers, throw in the odd lego part and it helps with the shading and patina and keeps costs down.
  14. Yup I found that's the best balance between a realistic finish similar to Lego's own drum lacquered parts and it being non destructive and removable if you so desire. I can drop you a pm if you want more details to avoid upsetting anyone in this thread.
  15. Some other awesome sets also being sold by that seller, more of the Starbricks series plus some of Anio's.
