Share Improvements on Original Sets to 'Complete' Them
Recently I "improved" all my imperial soldiers with decorated shakos and bayonets. Not exactly a set, but they all came from original sets. That was a lot of decorated shakos I had to tract down to equip all my soldiers. Way back when I was a kid actually playing with my Legos I added ship names. Here is Hispaniola (Skull's Eye Schooner).

Look what I just got - Report your latest Pirate LEGO acquisitions
Friday was a good day for me. First my Lego Shop order arrived. I got all the new pirate sets (including the Junior set) except for the chess set. My order from a BrickArms vendor arrived. I got enough silver U-clips and bayonets to fully equip all of my soldiers. Finally my order from a BrickLink vendor also arrived. I ordered enough "painted" shakos to fully equip my older soldiers. I also got enough backpacks to equip the 2009 soldiers. I think the BrickBounty is in trouble: Fully equipped soldiers ready for battle:

6271 Imperial Flagship [VIDEO]
Awesome stop motion. I remember being excited when I first got this ship so many years ago. The compass was amazing. But I also remember some disappointment. Thinking that it was weird for Lego to make thinner ship hull pieces. Hulls that can't fit two cannons back to back. And I thought that Lego might be cutting costs when compared to the BSB and CC. Yes even as a kid I was thinking that Lego was getting cheap. Now as an adult Lego Pirate collector, it is interesting to see how much this ship is liked. I like it too

Is this the real-life Imperial Soldiers' colony?
Looks a lot like classic Lego Pirate buildings.

Got two more ships to add to my collection. 6268 Renegade Runner and 6280 Armada Flagship. I never got the 6268 originally as didn't like the small size and I decided to spend what little money I had on the more impressive 6286 Skull's Eye Schooner. As for 6280, I was pretty much out of Lego by the time that set debuted. But now that I finally have these two, I can honestly say they are both surprisingly very nice sets. I don't exactly like the front design of the 6280, but I do like the Spanish Conquistador minifigs and they make a nice faction to add to the Bluecoats (French) and Redcoats (British). And although garish, the colorful 6280 looks better in person than in photos. Oh and I'll have to get a wheel for the 6268, unless they sail wherever the wind takes them. These two new ships should look great with my existing fleet:

jail cell ideas
I just sold an extra Broadside's Brig on eBay and here are some of the photos of it to show how the set uses flag holders/antennas as prison bars along with an arch:

Custom sails (more realistic colors)?
Thank you very much for the detailed description. If the sails smell, I can say the ship is transporting tea and coffee

Custom sails (more realistic colors)?
Wow those are absolutely beautiful sails Admiral Bejaune. Coffee and Tea are great ideas to get the color. Do the sails smell of coffee or tea afterwards? What material did you use? And it looks like you drew lines on. Special art pencil?

Custom sails (more realistic colors)?
I noticed the post on printing Lego sail replicas and that got me thinking. Has anyone has made realistic colored sails to use on Lego ships? I'd like to equip a few of my ships with realistic canvas/cloth colored sails instead of the multicolored Lego sails. Of course I'll keep the Lego sails, I just would like more realistically colored sails to use for display purposes. Lego did a great job on the "new" Imperial Flagship (10210) sail colors. Any ideas on what materials to use, of if there is a third market company making Lego sized sails to purchase?

Photos of your Pirate LEGO Collection
Here's my Lego Pirates collection: . All of the sets are from my childhood except for the two new sets; 10210 Imperial Flagship and 6240 Kraken Attackin. Most of the time all these sets are stored in bins in the closet. But I decided to build them all for photos. Recently I've been adding more sets to complete my early Pirates collection up to 1994-95, so I'll have to take some newer photos.

I added Lego set #6279, Skull Island, to my Pirates collection. I'm not sure why I never got this set back in the 90s, as I have almost every other original Pirates set. It is a nice sized set. Large enough, but not too large. The "rock" skull is great. This set must have been toward the end of the classic pirates theme as the red row boat seats are interestingly colored yellow. At least interestingly colored to me as I'm used to grey seats and a few red seats on the Islander sets. If this is a later set, that could be why I never got it. Toward the mid 90s is when I stopped collecting Legos. Here's what it looks like (I purchased it on eBay). All parts and instructions, no box: Here's a pic I took a few years ago showing my Pirates collection. Now I can add Skull Island to it: Here's a link to an old post about my collection: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=45684
