This is so cool. I was just admiring this very tile the other day as I was putting the final touches on my wall art. This might be my favourite tile.. right up there with the blue wizards scroll. Soooo cool to see it in full scale.

Very nice! The level of detail is awesome! Love it!
  4. I definitely batted the idea back and forth, organizing it in chronological order, but in the end chose not to (just like I chose not to for the space piece I did). The only real reason is because it gets a bit repetitive on a number of the rows- you could have 5 pirates in a row with striped shirts, for example. I wanted it to be a big scramble. On a side note; It's always fun when friends come over and they can look back to the ones they had as a kid and then count the time back as well.
  5. Thanks for all the positive feedback guys! I could stare at the old pirates forever. The expressions and colors are just classic. I want to take a stab at classic castle next. Some of the first series ones are really cool!
  6. Pirates... the Lego theme that in my mind is equally as cool as space but for completely different reasons. Where space has the transparent colors, and the cool objects that let your imagination run wild, Pirates have character! ... and what better way to capture the character then another piece of wall art! For this build, just like my last, I used the Ikea Ribba frame, which I established early on to have more than enough room to hold 1 of all of the classic pirates from the Pirates 1 series. In fact, I even had a little extra room to get creative and make a few scenes. I also decided that I would get away from the boring single color rack and decided to use the green, yellow and blue color scheme that was so popular for the base plates in the early 90s and late 80s. Further, instead of the typical 2x5 pieces used to stack the racks I also decided that I would use something different: trees and barrels. This not only looked better, but also gave me the ability to do more neat things along the way. Lastly, I used base plates for the background, as opposed to construction paper (like so any people do). Anyway, now for the pictures. I hope you all like it! I will try to post some higher resolution pictures in the coming days.
  7. This is really nice. So many great aspects; I especially like the vegetation and beach.

LOL. Classic. And in a valve like response to your question about the possibility of a half life moc episode 3 "we'll keep moving forward. But that doesn't necessarily always mean what people are worried that it might mean." Thanks for the feedback all!

As promised; a whole bunch of new pictures of the Half Life 1 Moc that I first posted back a couple of months ago. The new section I created is from the office portion of the game; a scene I feel like is quintessential to the game and memorable to anyone who played it like I did. I added a few features in particular that i thought stood out: 1. Red fire doors; 2. The vent system that you need to crawl through and always find a head crab or two; 3. A functional, sketchy elevator with a ceiling escape door and of course a ladder in the elevator shaft; 4. An office with all the stuff you would see in the game from the green carpet to bookshelf- this is the same office you need to blow the wall up to access; 5. Wall colors and tile patterns are also the same; and 6. An armoury with lots of half life guns (magnum, shotgun, rifle) knife and a HEV battery. I also took the advice of many of you on here and created new head crabs (credit to a random person on Flickr named Hessianizer- he nailed the headcrabs bang on in my mind). I think both the zombie and stand alone head crabs came out way better and more authentic then the 3d printer could produce. Anyway, here it is with a few scenes from the game! and that's that!

I could not agree more. Well said.
  11. This is amazing! The detail blows my mind.
  12. Thanks again for the positive feedback all! Much appreciated. I am still working on the big ice planet theme. It seems to gobble bricks 150 at a time!

This is such good work. There are so many great elements about this build.

I really like what you have done here. Really cool vehicle and scene, the two go perfectly. You also nailed the M:Tron colors real well.
  15. Thanks all! I will debut the big ice planet scene shortly. I am still struggling with a few things on it. Probably will take me another month or two before it is all done. It has gotten pretty large.
