  1. This looks great! I had this set as a child and re-visiting it has been on my list.

I am loving your LOTR MOCs. I saw Edoras and Helm's Deep as well. They're large, but not too large. They're also well thought out, with areas that depict iconic scenes from the movies. Bravo. :D
  3. A quick look at the past few pages shows that this doesn't seem to have been posted before... but this looks great! I'm pretty sure those designs on the posts are stickers though.

Oh, one thing preventing me from just heading to Bricklink is the fact that there are so few sellers in my country. International shipping + customs would eat into the savings I get if I tried to order from the US. I'm a new builder too, so most new parts will be good parts :) Thanks for the recommendations! The Farran sets shows up at around 9-10 USD and contains a lot of foliage so I might get multiples of that, sell the fig, sack, trans pieces and the baby dragon. Ragana's Magic castle also has some lovely unique parts so I might get that.

I recently picked up 41075: elves treetop hideaway on sale. I thought it would be useful for parts, especially with all the dark reds, browns and colored foliage. From your experience, are Elves sets generally a good source of parts for castles/villages/fantasy or is it only specific sets? I'm torn whether to buy multiples of the treetop hideaway and starlight inn or to pick up different Elves sets.
  6. Really, the Medieval Market Village stands out. :D
  7. Probably the Medieval Market Village. Still want multiples up to this day.
  8. Lava worlds, Ice worlds, floating castles, mechas, siege engines... are all good. The monsters of the line are actually great! I wish they'd do a midiaeval village set though.
  9. I picked one of these up and I have to say my only regret was not getting two! (Paid market price for a tower of orthanc instead, which I ended up trading for the sea cow (no figs). While building the set, I actually felt that the highlight of the build were the smuggler's den and blacksmith's shop.
  10. Galaxy Squad stuff on sale seems to be the best bet. I'm eyeing a Bug Obliterator myself :)

Hi, I've started on a four-legged mech and I'm at that point where I kind of like how it looks, but I want to make it bigger and add more detail. Conceptually, it's a four-legged weapons platform painted for desert operations. I'm missing a cockpit, additional weapons and maybe better legs, but I don't know where to go yet. Any help/tips would be appreciated. :)
  12. This is the first minifig line I'm completing. XD I'd actually love to get an extra piece of Ariel's hair to make a better Mary Jane minifig.
  13. @LudeBene - I've bought three hobbit holes and have sold the minifigs from two of those sets (keeping a set for play of course!). Still stocking up on bricks for a Hobbiton MOC. Might have to take apart a bike shop and look for additional green bricks before I start. :D
  14. I managed to get one locally for around 220 dollars. The lack of numbered bags made assembly a bit harder for me. The end product felt a bit lacking, but the assortment of parts and the uniqueness of the set more than made up for it. I would have actually gotten two if I had spare cash at the time. XD Might sell off the minifigures to fund more set acquisitions. :))
