  1. I can see why they would do a Black Panther bust now ahead of any other superheroes. The release of Black Panther 2 will be the last time the character is culturally relevant enough to have this kind of set work. Compare that to Iron Man where they could release the bust in literally any year. Having said that I don't really like the direction is going by catering to non lego audiences but I understand. The average person can happily display a set or two in their home so making sets that appeal to lots of different demographics makes sense when their core demographic runs out of shelf space. I just don't know if that is how it will work out in practise
  2. Based on the vague things we've heard on this $500 set my guess is a large scale quinjet with the OG Avengers lineup It fits in that it could be seen as a celebration of 10 years of Lego Marvel. It would be a bit of a curveball and would probably have a mixed reception. Plus Lego are doing a similarly scaled ship for the UCS Razorquest
  3. Shout out to delta customs for being the chillest leaker we've had so far Just a cool guy Having said that, I'm still two sets away from finishing my 2016 collection and from not we've heard of 2017 it's not setting my heart on fire. Thinking about stopping here, maybe even selling off what I have. Anybody else that underwhelmed? Maybe because I'm still enjoying the movies but not exactly excited by them anymore
  4. Is it just me or is the whisperer pretty clearly messing with everyone? He hasn't actually said anything that hasn't already been mentioned in the past 10 pages. I would ignore him until he gives any actually new information
  5. So I just checked and the Sanctum Santorum has now been listed on brickset as having 348 pieces. Not sure if this is news but It was under new listings so I think so. I guess this means the info is out there and maybe some more tidbits/ pics could leak through to us sooner rather than later.
  6. I know that there's no way that this is a hint for a new set.. AND YET Seriously though I would be quite happy if there was never another deadpool set since I already have the 2012 figure, even though I know that's selfish. And after the new movie I think that's likely, even if Marvel and Fox ever resolve their differences
  7. I would think that a movie variant of the vision is more likely. We are still expecting a 4th civil war set that he could easily appear in (along with spider-man? hawkeye? RED HULK? the possibilities are endless) but we aren't expecting any more comic book based sets and the slate is already pretty full compared to previous years. I'm hoping for more solid details as soon as possible
  8. I've been seeing a lot of dislike to the Rhino and Sandman showdown set, but I seem to be the only person who actually thinks it's a pretty good. I ordered that and the Carnage set on eBay at RRP plus £3 shipping. I guess I'll see in a few days when it arrives. I'll probably post a review too since I haven't seen anyone picking up the showdown despite several people reviewing the Carnage set.
  9. Coming only a year after AoU, I don't think that CW sets will need to have versions of all of the new characters, maybe only one's that have big roles in the film. e.g. we'll definitely see iron man and cap and probably a couple other updates like one for black widow but others like hawked may get a miss this time because his figure will still be sold in the AoU set.
  10. So what do people think is the most obscure new mini figure we might get in 2016? I think daredevil might come our way, maybe even something cosmic like silver surfer if they do sets on the upcoming Guardians cartoons. Points if anyone guesses right.
  11. I think everybody understands that it was an April fools joke but the existence of small pictures implies that he might have bigger ones as well which we would all be interested in seeing
  12. I'm confused, this looks like a january jerksbrickmario loves Disney! (true eurobrick fans will know what I mean) but those pictures actually look legit. Since I love DisneyTM! is over in 45 minutes where I live, can I see a bigger version of that second picture?
  13. So the official avengers Facebook page just posted this The Hulkbuster armour - developed by Stark & Banner, deployed by a satellite in low orbit around surrounding Bruce Banner - in order to contain the Hulk. Or at least, try to... Which I suppose does help make the hulk buster sets scenario make a little more sense. If banner helped iron man develop the suit then it does seem more like a genuine rescue as opposed to an underhand move by Stark. Maybe once they fight, the Hulk will be contained in the cell found in the set until the Avengers can take care of Scarlett Witch/Utron/both and calm him down.
  14. I managed to pick up the second last one from my local store today and I'm planning on putting up a photo review once I work through my backlog of Age of Ultron reviews. In the meantime here's a video review. https://www.youtube....eature=youtu.be

  16. I'll be buying another tower next month maybe to essentially double its size. Other than that I'm also planning on making to top floor at micro scale with my helicarrier micro figures.
  17. Having read this thread, I'm actually inspired to do some classic reviews of at least the small Age of Ultron sets. At University, my room is blessed with a white desk, white walls and a long fluorescent white light. It sure ain't pretty but it practically provides me with a small studio to work with right off the bat. I agree that nowadays, everybody does want their own channel or blog to succeed, myself included, but I do miss the days where every set would get a couple different reviews that weren't always the highest quality but were certainly crafted with care for the community, not just the web traffic.
  18. Can't mention the helmet because I've only got the helicarrier version but the torso does seem slightly darker than my (not too well aged) avengers version. It might be the contrast but the red printing seems much more bright on the AoU version.
  19. Just going to ignore the blatant troll. That quicksilver torso looks a lot darker than I was expecting, but on the upside I think it will look pretty good with some dark blue legs on, as it stands black seems like a poor choice. The tower looks pretty poor and generally I use eBay for mini figures in sets as uninteresting as this but the tank still looks good, I'd like to review one for youtube and I can recover some money with VIP points and selling the duplicate captain america and hulk so I think I'll make an exception on this one.
  20. Since I don't think it's worthy of a new topic, I'll post my question here: I'm about to put up my first big lego set for display, it's the SHIELD helicarrier and I'm going to be displaying it on my desk for a few months before eventually sealing away the parts in ziplock bags. I want to know if anyone has any preventative measures to keep the parts in as good condition as I can? I was thinking about just using a feather duster on it every now and then but I will be away at university for up to a couple straight months during this display period. I was thinking maybe putting some cloth over it then? Any ideas from people more experienced than myself will be greatly appreciated.
  21. The answer is, we don't exactly know. Here is a gallery with an image of the exact information that TLG have given us, make of it what you will, personally I think it means the helicarrier is the only way to get it FOR NOW, and that it'll be available later through other means. Don't forget my review of the Winter Soldier polybag ;)

Thank you very much, this will really help me plan my weekend.

As I put in the 2015 topic, The Winter Soldier is an exclusive in the UK at least for now with the VIP Helicarrier release. The store I went to only mentioned it as an exclusive *during VIP early access*. That could mean that it'll disappear for at least a while when early access is over or that it'll be available through other means straight after the early access period is over. If anyone wants a better look at it, I did a review: Also asking again if anyone can help me, roughly how long does it take to build the helicarrier?

That could mean that it'll disappear for at least a while when early access is over or that it'll be available through other means straight after the early access period is over. Anyway I also did a review of my Winter Soldier minifigure too: The release morning at my local store was pretty uneventful, they were putting up the new display right up until the minute the store opened. Then myself, an man (mid thirties?), and a child (no more than 13) in the process of convincing his mother went in. I'm not sure whether the child ever did convince his mother though, I was in and out pretty fast. The display did seem to be a hit with just about every child that walked past. Maybe when they grow into AFOLs, they'll increase the resale value of the set since right now, not many of the parents seemed impressed at the thought of spending that much.
  25. No way?! That is going to be a very exciting bonus for me at my local Lego store when I pick this up tomorrow. Especially since I won't be able to build the actual set until the weekend.
