  1. Prices are on the first page. No GBP £'s though.
  2. So I decided to build my General Grevious Starfighter when it arrived without reviewing it (there's been enough all ready). I noticed on thing, one of the blue lightsabers had no bubble. I've been collecting lightsabers since at least 2002 and not once have I noticed this before. What I want to know is, has this ever happened to you before? Can you remember what set it was from? Here's a picture if you're not sure what I'm on about.
  3. I've decided to change my vote to the WolfPack trooper! Before you call me crazy, let me justify myself. It may not be ambitious but what it does, it does perfectly and I really hope they're involved in next years battlepack. It's the only figure I really want multiples of (3 of 'em to be precise).
  4. I've been having some more looks at the pictures (yes i am obsessed) and those lightsabers are really bugging me. It looks to me that Eeth Koth and Quinlan Vos have darker, maybe even shorter, lightsabre blades the Yodas! It also looks like Darth Mauls might be shorter as well. It could be because of the angles but what do you guys think?
  5. So here are my thoughts right now on the clone wars figures (as I mainly buy just clone wars sets): - Commander Wolfe/ trooper: These new clones' markings look great but can somebody tell me what episode they were in? It also seems like the trooper has a jetpack or something similar strapped to his back. - Eeth Koth: His torso looks great and the hair does to but is it just me or do the horns stick out too much? Lego seem to have trouble doing horned aliens, I'd say this one goes somewhere between the new Darth Maul/ Savage Opress headpiece and Sugi's printed horns! - Quinlan Vos: This figure looks fine but one thing bugs me, his face looks almost identical to Koth's. I won't be wanting to keep these figures near each other. - Savage Opress: The figure looks great, as does the new head piece but it looks like we'll be waiting a few more years for a proper double ended lightsaber hilt. - Geonosian: WOW I'm sure a fair few people owe Lego an apology for all the hate the prelim received. Now I need to find a good torso and some print-out wings to make a Poggle the Lesser. - Ki Adi Mundi: The headpiece looks accurate and fairly well integrated to his head. i'm loving all these jede's unique torsos. I also like the new moveable Sebulba (I see joints at the leg/arms) and Ani's helmet. I'd be lieing if I said I wasn't tempted by the Phantom Menace sets but I'm feeling less and less interested in the Ewok Attack. This may sound greedy but do you have any more pictures? Figures are wonderfull but they do come with vehicles too.
  6. Good sir I could kiss you. In fact give me your address, I'm going to Germany. But all jokes aside thanks a lot, did you get a pic of the Dathomir Speeder set? I'll have a look and tell my thoughts in a bit. EDIT: by dathomir speeder, I mean the other figures.
  7. I think he means a green hood. Information is OK but I find the lack of pictures disturbing.

If I were you i'd go for minimal playability seeing as this will go on display. maybe an elevator using techniques similar to that in the official TLG Death Star which would irradicate the need for stairs. I'd only make '3 walls' for the MOC since it'll be used for display, that way you can make the most out of the pieces you have. Best of luck.
  9. I just finished my 'second draft' of my 8x8 vignette and I have a couple of questions before I take the pictures and upload them. If my pics aren't the best (see my reviews if you want to see how my pics generally look), will that affect my chances? You say we can't use new pieces but what about newly coloured pieces (ie. the sand green fish)? Thanks
  10. Hello, I'd like to join the academy. I've ordered the General Gerevious Starfighter and Plo Koon Starfighter off amazon which should arrive in about a week and I also have the complete 2005 Wookie Catamaran with instructions. I have a 12 megapixel Canon digital camera and really want to improve on my reviews, especially the pictures. Here are my reviews so far: Clone battle pack Mandalorian battle pack Battle of Naboo Am I in?
  11. This is my last review from wave 1 of the Star Wars 2011 sets. I would like to start by saying it really is a great set to have and one of the best sets this year in terms of value for money (not just price per piece). Now onto the stats of this set from TLG. Item #: 7929 Ages: 7-12 Pieces: 241 •Includes 12 minifigures: Jar Jar Binks, Gungan soldier, 2 droid pilots and 8 battle droids •Arm the Gungan soldier with an all-new transparent energy shield! •Deploy 2 racks of realistic, detachable battle droids! •Move the controls of the Trade Federation troop carrier! •Trade Federation troop carrier measures 10” (25cm) long, 3” (7cm) wide and 4” (10cm) tall A nice box, that is, as far as boxes go. It certainly showcases the main draws to the set. That is, of coarse, the figures. Normally, don't point out the back of the box but I'll make an exception for two reasons; one good and one bad. First of all, I really like how this box harkens back to allmost a decade ago when lego would show the figures themselves 'building' the set. It's not exactly the same but I still like it. The bad point isn't really that bad but worth noting. You can see on the box that the 'domes' on the side of the transport are held in by grey pins, in reality there are less realistic blue pins to hold them in. It doesn't really matter because when the holding bay is in, they are obscured but I don't know why TLG would change their minds on something like that. This is what you get inside the box, 3 unmarked bags and an instruction manual. Opening up the first bag, you see that it's dominated by droid arms and heads. The second bag is mainly plates and droid bodies. The last bag consists of mainly larger plates and the few bricks that this set has. There aren't too many interesting pieces in this set outside of the great new Gungans (it should be noted that the bagged heads were found within the large bag). I don't think there are any new pieces outside of the Gungans but a few rare ones. Here we have the 10 (count 'em) droids. The pilot droid has new printing, it isn't perfect but it's the best one we've had so far. Here's a referance pic. Pretty accurate, isn't it? Here we have the great revisions on the gungans. Since there haven't been any for an entire decade, this will be the first chance for many to get their hands on them. Lego really were generous giving us back printing on the heads and bodies. They really do stand out as some of the best figures this year (outside of the beautiful Shaak Ti, naturally). Comparing them to the old versions, the new versions surpass the old ones in allmost every way. The mold is allmost the same except the new ones have smoother eyes (the old ones had them to give the effect of pupils) and are made of a different plastic. I assume this is the cheap chinese plastic that people are talking about. I don't mind it on a head but I certainly wouldn't want it for my bricks. For those who don't know what it feels like, it's basically half way between Lego and Megablocks, but probably closer to Lego. Here's a random picture of the manual. The manual is the same size as the Clone Battle pack but has about twice the pages (48). The set is completed in 26 steps but the entire carrier section is counted as a substep so including substeps, it's about 40 steps. Here is a picture corresponding to the step. A bit past half way through the build. Here is the set just before the carrier section is added. To me it doesn't look right without the carrier. Before the figures are added, this set looks fine. It doesn't stand out as an impressive model but looks great as a part (or severaly parts with multiple buys) of a droid army or battlefield diorama. With the figures, it's still not too impressive. It's more of a large battlepack than a standalone model. With this in mind it is a very good battlepack. With that in mind, it does look quite impressive at some angles. This 'control panel' is my least favourite part of the set. It just doesn't work with a battle droid but it'll have to do. With the completed set, it's time for my ratings: Design 7/10 The set fits its purpose but won't stand out in most collections. Pretty accurate, if a little small but most people won't care. Figure 10/10 A great figure line up. Though we missed out on our last chance for a new Kaadu for a while now, this certainly is a great army builder. Value 8/10 I docked some points for the fact that UK actually pay one pound more than US which is pretty ridiculous. Still fair value, especially how prices are these days. 25/30 A good set to buy multiples of and a great starting points for people looking to make a decent army. Probably the best set at its price point but not a standout model. Please comment on the review and set and come back soon when I find out how to add a poll to this.
  12. Really like this MOC, probably the best 'chibi' so far that I've seen. Can someone tell me what these 'chibi' models are? They all look really good and I want to see some more of them. EDIT: Found 'em
  13. He also mentioned the advent calender so maybe only one of the sets was shown. Personally I hope it was the Echo base. Can't wait for pics.
  14. I don't see why people don't want an Utuapa scene? surely a multi level, rocky' montinous battle would be awesome!

Bricklink is a lot better than picka brick. If I were you I'd head on over Here to find a good store. It will save you a fair bit of dough.
  16. Here's my first one; I've got a couple more on the way but I think I'll space them out until I think up more P.S. I used the 3L Trans-Red bar for Vader's sabre
  17. This is one of the new wave of Star Wars 2011 sets. This should now be easy to pick up anywhere. From what I've heard, Toys R Us sells the in plentiful stock in the US (and have been doing so for about a month) and now Argos stock them in the UK. Failing that Amazon and Lego both stock them online for other countries. So here's those vital statistics we all care so dearly about staight from TLG: Item #: 7914 Ages: 6-12 Pieces: 68 •Includes 4 minifigures: Mandalorian assassin and 3 Mandalorian troopers •Features Mandalorian speeder, blaster turret and 5 weapons •Each Mandalorian trooper features a unique weapon •Blast the opposition with the big, blaster turret •Deploy your forces against the #7913 Clone Trooper Battle Pack •Mandalorian speeder measures 2” (5cm) wide, 3” (7cm) long •Blaster turret measures 2” (5cm) wide and 2” (5cm) long The box isn't anything special. It does clear up that the turret fires lasers, not rockets, but I think Lego should have more easily advertised the piece count for those debating which battle pack they want to purchase [first]. This is what you get for your money; two bags and an instruction manual. The instruction manual is smaller than the clone one (16 pages with a smaller height and width). There's no comic or showcase of the other sets and, like the clone battle pack, there's no piece callouts but they aren't exactly needed. That doesn't bother me but may annoy other people. Interestingly, the back of the box seems to showcase the clones more than the Mandolorians (and vice versa). With both bags openned up, here are those 68 pieces. As you can see, I've seperated the parts into the figures, the speeder, the turret, the heavy machine gun (at least that's what I think it is), the guns and the spare parts. Now we have the 4 identical warriors in variouis degrees of undress. There's no back printing (though it isn't needed thanks to the, now easily available, jetpacks) but the torsos printing is excellent and very accurate. Most people complain about the head but, after seeing picture after picture of it, I don't really mind it anymore. First I thought Anakin was really ugly but then I got used to his new face, the same thing happened to the clones and now these fellas (maybe Lego is making their figures progressively uglier). One thing though they are a shade paler than the clone troopers which I don't like. The helmet is reprinted from Boba Fett last wave and I think it is great. Overall I do like the character, as long as they keep their helmets on, and I think they make a good enough Jango Fett, too. Here are the Mando's with their weapons (and a better picture of the new jetpack). I do think the new pistols fit the Mandalorians better than they do with the clones. Other than that there's nothing new to see here. Built in 4 steps out of 6 pieces, this gun is simple but effective. I really like the design but I do have a gripe with it; the Mandalorian can't hold it properly without it bending his arm slightly. It looks fine but I do worry that the hand will snap and I'll have to replace it. Also, the mandalorian has to hold it at an angle which bothers some people but with a quick tilt of his helmet and I think looks rather cool. Now the speeder, made in 11 steps with 22 pieces. I think its overall design is good but I do think it has 2 small flaws. Firstly, the mandalorian can't properly be seated without removing his jet pack (otherwise the 'handlebars' move up a little), this may not annoy some people but I wish it came with a control panel instead. Also, the speeder does look a bit bland so I wish it came with a small sticker (!) or something similar on the blue piece to liven it up a little. Now the Turret. At first I hated it and it still isn't my favourite part of the set but I will admit that it has grown on me since. Made in 16 pieces in 8 steps (11 if you include sub steps), this is very similar to the one in the first clone battle pack. To explain my opinions, I'll use a picture: Compared to the earlier model, I wouldn't say there's been much improvement. I'd say the shape of the first one is just a little bit better but the gun in the new one is more appropriate. My main proble with this is that there is no trigger! This is why I'd say it's the worst bit of the set but better than my first impression. With the completed set, it's time to give my verdict: Design 7/10 I have to dock points seeing as each bit has it own design flaw but they do all look good together as part of a battlefield diorrama. This was close to being a 6. Figures 8/10 They are fine together but, as I've mentioned allready, the face is a little pale. I would have also liked one of the plastic bags with the head gear, skirt etc. seeing as they are compatible and maybe even a cape like the sandtroopers have. All of these have been made before so why not here? Value 8/10 Some people would say this isn't a good price to piece ratio but for what you get, I'd say it's worth it. I don't think there is any need to buy multiples like with the clone battlepack. This why I took away points because that is the point of a battlepack. Overall 23/30 A fair score and definately worth buying 1 of seeing as it has a low price but not exactly what people want in a battlepack. Please feel free to post your opinions on the set and my review.
  18. OK so I went to town thiafternoon and ended up buying 3 packs. I only wanted the alien and cyborg so first I went to WHSmiths. I was getting some funny looks and they put the figures by the queue so I decided to hurry up before people got annoyed and what I thought was a space gun turned out to be a maraca and I ended up with... A hula dancer I decided to set up shop in the Entertainer and the shop staff there were a lot more friendly and gave me the time I needed to succesfully aquire my desired figures.
  19. I don't see why people get so excited with 3 in 1 packs. We can allready buy everything so what's the fuss about?
  20. So after a week and a half my order from amazon finally came through and I am now the a clone battle pack and mandalorian battlepack (review coming soon). So here's those vital statistics straight from TLG: Item #: 7913 Ages: 6-12 Pieces: 85 •Includes 4 minifigures: clone commander, 2 bomb squad clone troopers and 1 ARF clone trooper •Features 5 weapons! •Includes BARC speeder •Move the cannon turret! •BARC speeder measures 6” (15cm) long, 3” (7cm) wide And on with the review. Here's my order. We've all seen the box before so I didn't take pictures from other angles. One thing to note is that it is really glossy. This is what you get when you open the box. That 2x12 plate was oddly out of the bag even though it can easily fit. The piece count feels fair enough. Lego is getting more expensive but for a small set the pieces, to me, are varied and plentiful. At the top we have our lone spare piece; the black 'droid arm'. Should come in handy seeing as they're not the sturdiest piece. I put down the troops with what I think is the best weapon distribution. I gave the troops on pistol each seeing as they're primarily for disarming bombs so they should only need a side arm. I then gave our 'regular' horn company clone trooper a plain old blaster and the ARF trooper a blaster rifle leaving a weapon left over. A close up on the bomb squad troops reveals the great detailing. My camera looses some of the vibrancy but the 'white' part of the helmet really is that colour. Not a bad figure in my opinion. I don't think the seperatist will even bother planting any bombs by the time most collectors add a few of these babies to their collections. Here's the highlight of the set for most people (I think they are all good in their own rights); the ARF (Advanced Recon Force) Trooper. Some people have been reporting bad printing but I think mine is near enough perfect. I'm very pleased with the way the helmet turned out which is in my opinion better than any of the custom ones that I've seen. Finally we come to the Horn Company Trooper. Thes'll be great when we get Eeth Coth in the summer but stand out as TLG's best attempt at creating a specific legion yet. I love the body but this loses points for the scratches on the helmet. And on to the build... And the copleted model... I absolutely love this design and is probably my favourite speeder that we've had so far. Much better than 2007 (see a copmarison below). So here's the verdict; Design 9/10 The best battle pack vehicle we've had in a while. Loses points for the fact that maybe a turret could have been included to up the playability. Figures 8/10 Loses points for the scratched helmet and that some people find the lineup lacking. I understand that most people won't need THAT many bomb squad troopers. Value 8/10 You won't get much better price per piece ratio in a small licensed set in a while, I'll tell you that! Still not ideal though. Overall 25/30 This is a fine set that I see many people buying multiples of. A quick comparison pic. I know which one I prefer!
  21. I too was wondering wher the information came from. From what I've seen the piece counts are pretty dissapointing. From the dathomir speeder, ewok attack, republic frigate and geonosian speeder (the sets that I am interested in); only the republic frigate and dathomir speeder have reasonable piece count. I am not impressed right now and, if the frigate has another unnesesary escape pod, I will be most displeased.
  22. The Dathomir Speeder. Sorry I didn't specify - my mind has a habit of doing that.
  23. I just saw the new episode of the clone wars and is it just me or does the colour scheme on the dathomir speeder look all wrong. I guess the shape is good enough though, I'll still get it but mainly for the figures.

Wow! I never realised how good the design in this set was, especially the cockpit and the entire wing mechanism. Shame I live in UK, no chance of me getting this at a reasonable price.

I put 7 because I don't find text based stories scary. ...But then there was that last pic
