  1. Technically, 2011 SD/NYCC Batman, Superman and Green Lantern were given away as "Preview Edition" minifigs. The 2012-13 SDCC's identified the minifigs as exclusive to the event. It would be nice to get that Green Lantern in a set. We got the same Superman and TDK Batman in grey instead of black (but this could also have been LEGO trying to make a intended variant).
  2. This should be asked in the general questions topic.
  3. That Emmet fig is great. I will pick one up for sure, those pants are some sort of pre-order DLC?
  4. Those all look excellent, Metal Beard's ship looks massive. I can't wait to get Johnny Thunder! I wonder if the green minifigure will be Green Lantern? He was rumored to appear in a set in 2014. Maybe that one (at the time of the picture) was a stand in?
  5. Nice find, I think that might be the one 1974 hinted at. It matched his description of a large CS cruiser, it has the S@H parts and looks like a great set. There is no way LEGO would have made something like that just for a book. The design, parts usage and everything point to it being a upcoming set. Life's dream come true.
  6. Not me, probably because I never set out to complete each series, I pick the best from each Series (4-5 usually) and move onto the next. Also I pick figs that compliment themes I already collect like Castle & City, so the more diversity in figs the better. I don't collect CMF as a primary theme, it is a complimentary theme which is why a never ending supply is good.
  7. At first I thought they were referring to Series 12 as the MMO Series, but I guess not and the MMO will be another subtheme. The game is scheduled for the 2nd half of 2014 (2nd half starts June 1), so I am guessing that Series will be in July or August. I fail to see how they are ruining the product by creating subthemes. If anything this is great news as S12 will make up for the Simpsons Series.
  8. I'd prefer their regular outfits rather than figs representing their powers. But if they make multiple sets I could see them doing alternates.
  9. That is what will make Series '14' so exciting. There is also one more world, not announced but teased in the screenshots and trailers, what appears to be a 'Fairytale' world. Captain Pete seems very likely since we know LEGO likes to give us Captain's, and hero would be synonymous with Captain. Although, there is also a good chance he is just an NPC representative for Pirate World, much like Castle world will have a King and Mythology world has Zeus.
  10. I was hoping somebody would try that. It does look very nice, but I am sure everyone knows why they didn't include printed legs. To save that version for another set so we can spend more money.
  11. Yes, that is what I think too.
  12. All those are good adjustments, all sound reasonable. I think this is a good sign they are refining CUUSOO to have better and more realistic project submissions. I am still glad they allow new prints and colors.
  13. Thanks for the pictures. I will get the bank truck set, which is the best build and has a great Doc Ock fig. Might get the Electro set. In USM, he works with SHIELD who can supply him vehicles. Although the only "canon" one so far is the cycle from this year. It is actually the USM version (not wearing the black jacket/hood). But the ASM version is also based on the Ultimate comics like the USM one. Not just you, everyone pretty much hates it. I would have liked ASM2 body armor GG. It is Disney's version of Spider-man, and all the sets are very reminiscent of Hasbro products. Random characters with random vehicles. It is based on Avengers Assemble, which is a pretty bad show on par with BtB. I agree with Cloney O, it looks like a Town Jr model.
  14. Piranha replied to Legopard's post in a topic in Pirate MOCs
That is amazing, I like the smooth glossy water look you managed to capture with that technique. I also think the thatched roof is ingenious.
  15. Those are all very good observations. This "hint" by 1974 (who also brought news on 2014 Trains) is good enough for me though:
  16. I wouldn't expect that many, I would say just 1 X-men and 1 GotG sets. GotG can be covered in one large $120 set. For X-men, I guess either a Sentinel or X-jet as the build. I think they will save Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch for 2015 for obvious reasons.
  17. He still could appear in TLM or future DC sets in 2014. Not really, sure there are at least 8 sets, but the DC/Marvel Junior sets equal out, so that leaves 7, and considering there was 1 missing this year, it equals out to nothing above average.
  18. That is because ASM & USM are both based/inspired from the Ultimate comics. I agree completely, why must there be so many of the same Spider-man? He has as many different suit variations as Batman, and TLG has failed to even give us one variation in 4 sets + a polybag? I mean if you are going to give us mishmash USM sets instead of WS, DW or ASM2 sets, at least give us the Black, Iron, ASM2, Future Foundation and Superior suit designs. As for the rest of the sets, they are pretty poor too. I wanted Cap in his Winter Soldier or First Avenger costume, not AA. Thor is pretty much the same, would have liked a new helmet. Falcon looks good, but I like the MCU version better. Again TLG has failed to impress, waiting on GotG and X-men, but I am not setting very high standards.
  19. That is what I am thinking too, but there is a good chance that variant Spider-man could be his ASM costume.
  20. DC sets in January, Marvel sets are uncertain, maybe March or May.
  21. I like the general idea for this thread, having a feedback topic is a good idea, as it allows the people organizing it, to see opportunities where gameplay can be improved. As for staff participation, I apologize if it was not clear from the character topic, we are NPC's or GM's, we oversee the entire game and do the technical work. We are not active building participants in the Episode's and freebuild's because of the gameplay and the way it is structured (similar to how we don't participate in contests of our own creation). Speaking for myself, I am also not really a MOCer, I mostly collect. For this reason I don't feel qualified to give real valuable feedback on the creations people create and how to improve them. If some things we are discussing are implemented I will happily comment in the build threads with my (non builder) impressions. I would like to ask everyone, participant or bystander to post a list with the top 5 suggestions or modifications you would like to see SoNE incorporate. Some of these things we are already discussing but we would like to get a general feel as well. We will continue to consider and discuss them and let everyone know what happens. Thanks to everyone for understanding, we love working on this game.
  22. Having no special skill or knowledge is a subjective and negligible thing though. Fury assigned Hawkeye to oversee the cube, I can't think of a replacement for that role because he fits in with the SHIELD storyline in the film. IIRC he also took down Loki's chariot with an exploding arrow. Since he is an expert marksman/assassin, I again believe that to be a decision based on those character types being popular.
  23. Great review WhiteFang! Not my favorite series but there are some good figs in this one. Larry, William Shakespeare, Emmet, and a few others are all nice to have. The frontiersman outfit can easily be refitted with a normal head for use in historical themes. I do feel it is lacking that one must have minifig (usually a historical one) but that is not a big deal. Interesting how the packaging appears to have a matte finish and is lacking the "?" design.
  24. Hawkeye I thought was a good choice, he got a decent amount of screen time. True, any hero could have done the same things in the film but that can be said about pretty much any character in the Marvel Universe. They should have had Ant-man, Moon Knight, Spider-man and Wolverine thrown in for good measure. Really, it is just how Marvel decides to use and portray their characters and they probably thought Hawkeye was a more likeable character.
  25. They could have done a real Helicarrier, similar to the ISD priced at $200-$400. However, I think they are saving that for use as a more generic platform. Where they can lump a lot of heroes and villains together and not worry about any continuity (hopefully it would include some "obscure" ones). I don't think anyone is complaining, just offering their feedback on a product they are enthusiastic about, nothing wrong with that. It comes down to the rendition of the character and the execution of the sets. A lot of people like MCU Iron Man, but the sets were so poorly executed and lackluster that they failed to do justice to the character or film. If we got some well designed Thor or Cap sets based on the MCU then everyone would love them. If TLG is making sets just to sell the minifigs (which I think they are), they should just switch to a CMF model. Minifigs should always compliment the model and build, not the other way around.
