[MOC] My new/old ship MOC
They are made from some old bedsheets I found in the shed, material wise they are actually pretty good I think :) They are wrinkly and crinkly from laying around for five years between builds, they were also made for a slightly smaller version of the ship that has since been dismantled so the dimensions are off. Thanks for the feedback! I will absolutely look into improving the sails, as well as adding more rigging, what's on now is the minimum amount for me to consider her sail/photo worthy. One thing that the pictures don't show is that she is incredibly fragile, some of it comes from not being built from a particular plan or design and many redos and workarounds still in place. I try to avoid buying more bricks as there is already so, so much Lego left from my childhood, but it's not sorted and I've had to "mine" each brick from four very large unassorted containers. Needless to say that means she's grown in very uneven spurts with plenty of placeholders and compromises on the way. I only bricklinked a select few parts I knew I didn't have (black flags for gunports, life savers for the wreaths and one extra crow's nest piece). The upper parts of the stern sides (second level of galleries and up) are my least favorite bits, they look a little dodgy both scale and color wise and also fall apart easily when I try to modify them She does have an interior, but it's inaccessible for the same reasons I mention above, so it's only really relevant to me who 'knows' it's there

[MOC] My new/old ship MOC
Thanks for all the kind replies! I was able to visit my parents again last week and add more rigging and some temporary sails. I took some more photos, sadly I was unable to set up a proper photo session with a background but I moved the ship outside for more and natural lighting. There are still tweaks that can be done and I'll be sure to post them when I find the time :) IMG_1011 by Ulrik Pein, on Flickr IMG_1026 by Ulrik Pein, on Flickr IMG_1036 by Ulrik Pein, on Flickr IMG_1038 by Ulrik Pein, on Flickr IMG_1034 by Ulrik Pein, on Flickr And a last one inside with your favorite wallpaper, I think this is her best angle: IMG_1048 by Ulrik Pein, on Flickr

Nicely spotted, those are indeed different wallpapers! Can't take any credit for them though, but I could get my mother on the line if there are any other questions about them :)

[MOC] My new/old ship MOC
Hi everyone, Last time I was active here was about 15 years ago, when I as a teenager started messing around with my old lego pirate sets at my parents' house. I shared with you my Black Seas Barracuda-based Triton's Vengeance here, and got a few very helpful tips on how to improve. I'd be lying if I said I have been working constantly on her since, but I have definitely been tweaking and rebuilding her several times whenever I stayed with my parents for more than a few days, and I've had great fun. This community has so many great builders and I have both had fun following all your projects these 15 years and obviously I have.. ahem.. pirated many great tricks and techniques from many of you - some will be very apparent. The least I could do for all the fun I've had is to share some updated pictures of what she's become. Memory lane, this is where we were back in 2007: DSCF0013 by Ulrik Pein, on Flickr Overall the Vengeance is still a BSB-based design, and I have been fibbing wildly between bothering with historical accuracy and just making it cool looking. I knew I wanted more of a mid- to late 16th-century look with a noticeable curve, a tall aftercastle and loads of baroque, garish ornaments, and I also wanted to put as many guns on her as I could fit. Aestethics-wise she takes after the likes of Vasa and Sovereign of the Seas, although of course she's a bit smaller than either of those. I also added the fanged mouth bow from The Flying Dutchman simply because I have always loved that detail. My favorite part of her is still the curved panels from the Divers theme that I use for the lower galleries, they have survived through every iteration of this ship so far. I'll stop talking now and share some pictures. IMG_1385 by Ulrik Pein, on Flickr Work in progress. IMG_1594 by Ulrik Pein, on Flickr Hull mostly ready. IMG_0882 by Ulrik Pein, on Flickr Today's status. My plan for the summer is to complete the rigging, add a few more ornaments where I can fit them and think of a less cringey name. If you have any comments, tips or critiques please share them! I'll leave a few more pictures below: IMG_0809 by Ulrik Pein, on Flickr IMG_0642 by Ulrik Pein, on Flickr IMG_0542 by Ulrik Pein, on Flickr IMG_0881 by Ulrik Pein, on Flickr IMG_1597 by Ulrik Pein, on Flickr NOTE TO MODS: I figured making a new topic was okay here seeing as the alternative would be to bump a 15 year-old thread, and the changes are so substantial they basically make for a different MOC. If you think otherwise I will try to correct it. I see a fellow member went for the opposite approach when doing the same thing just a few days ago, this is just a coincidence I swear! :D

Dwarven Balloon MOC.
I think the "fire extinguisher" is meant to be a gas tank, and without one the balloon wouldn't fly.. I like this MOC a lot, good job!

Nice Fort
I think grood is one of the greatest and goodest words that has ever come from that website X-D Other than "Burninate" and "late-three-sixty-shove-it-to-boneless'd" of course. Anyhow, back to topic, I love the baguettes in front of the fortress. Is it an official Lego Piece?

Hiya guys! I couldn't find this in the index, so I thought I'd post it. It's a pretty decent fort in my opinion. Not my creation! Brickshelf folder There's also some cool islander stuff in the folder *sweet*- Cannon Question
I believe they're called bow chasers aye- LEGO World Oslo 1-4 may 2008
Hey! What's that supposed to mean, I live in Oslo X-D Shame I won't be able to go.. :'-( May I ask where you live, UniqueBuilder? How come you don't like Oslo? ;-)- Halo 3 Scarab.
It is actually a dark shade of purple, as far as I remember. But purple pieces are really hard to come by, so i doubt it would be possible to build an all purple scarab. Brickmaster, your scarab is awesome! *y* *y*- Cabin Ideas....
you should check out this- Question - anyone got a advice for improving my ship?
I know. I used to have a capstan there, but when I added the second deck it took up to much space. My brother also added a fantasticly complicated system (also operated by a barrel) that could pull the bow chasers in & out. But it took up something like 12x10 studs so... |-/- Question - anyone got a advice for improving my ship?
Isn't it handy? X-D- Question - anyone got a advice for improving my ship?
On my ship, I attached the guns on the lower gundeck to a series of 2x10 flat bricks (don't know the appropriate term) so that they all stuck together in a long row. I put this on top of a few tiles on the hull and placed the two rows (port and starboard) four studs apart (giving them two studs of "slide space", I'll explain). I then added an incredibly crude mechanism consisting of one of those 2x2 tiles with a rotating disc on top, a regular 2x4 black brick and two 2x2 cylinder bricks and finally a barrel. when you twist the barrel, the 2x4 brick push both rows of guns out of the gunports. If you want to, you can swap the 2x4 with a 2x3 so that you can run out one side at a time. This is how it looks from the outside. You'll have to push them back manually. I think the system's neat because you can operate the lower gundeck while it still is completely enclosed, save a 2x4 hole covered by the barrel. Anyone understood that? I suck at explaining things.. Maybe I can provide some interior pictures later, but the ship's unavailable right now >:-) - Nice Fort
