There'll probably be a bunch of functions, including a front winch. The offset must be some optical effect - I'm the world's worst camera wielder The model's not being designed for off-roading but just to overcome some basic indoor obstacles, so I don't expect a lot of jolting. Hopefully the weight of the chassis and bodywork'll be enough to keep the shock absorbers in place. If they start slipping out I'll rework the axles or be a lazy sod and resort to piano wire or elastic bands.

Now that uni's drawing to a close I've got a li'l time to get some building done, so I've started working on another tow truck. This is what I've got so far. 6x6 with rear and central diff locks (the latter has yet to be implemented); drive powered by 4 XL motors geared up 3:1; servo mounted directly on the front axle, which includes Ackermann steering. It's designed for Claas tyres. Nothing fancy but it should be kid-proof.

I thought the point of these contests was to challenge builders to bring new ideas to the table that might benefit everyone.

I suppose there's a chance we'll get a boatload of the new 3x19 frames (going for over €3 each on PaB), kinda like we did with the 5x7 frames in 42055. That could partly explain the extortionate price.

Thank you! I used three M motors (steering, outriggers and crane) and an L motor (drive). Since I was out of extension wires I had to cram all the motors as close as possible to where the power source would be located. The four crane functions are activated through a gearbox driven by an M motor in the carrier. You can choose up to two functions at a time using the two black Bionicle teeth behind the crane cabin.

Just a random RC crane truck. It's not based on any real-life vehicle; instead, it's a lazy rehash of my previous crane truck crossed with my dump truck. Looks dumb but works okay and my li'l nephew loves it.

Thanks for the kind feedback, guys Yes indeed, three gears for two meshes. There's a tad more play than you'd have normally, but it doesn't seem to affect playability. Yep. The model's really light, so even with the cherry picker or dump bed modules it still stays perfectly upright during play. The lack of rear springs would definitely be an issue on a heavier model or with larger modules, though - the claw module almost tips it over Ha ha, spot on The first dump bed prototype was "fair" but looked hideous once it was mounted because of the huge gap between the truck and the bed. By the way, I wouldn't have found out about those tyres if it weren't for you, so thank you again That truck looks terrific! I hope you manage to work on it again and finish it.

This is a basic multifunction truck - shamelessly copied from a previous MOC of mine - with RC drive (XL), steering (servo), outriggers (M) and auxiliary (L) motor for powered attachments, as well as pendular suspension on all axles. The model uses an old BuWizz 1.0 unit. It's designed to accommodate a number of attachments; here, we see it with a dump bed, a cherry picker (basically a carbon copy of Anto's - what a masterpiece he crafted!) and, just for shits and giggles, the claw from 42144 in black&yellow livery. Plenty of room for improvement but a fun model nonetheless.

Love this There's too much going on in the drivetrain for my admittedly limited brain to process but it all looks like fun - there's something childlike (NOT childish!) about the build that, to me at least, is just priceless. It's pure instinct and enjoyment One question from the kingdom of silliness 'cause I can't figure it out for the life of me - how do the springs in the two axles from the two motors in the middle affect the drivetrain's efficiency?

Why oh why did I miss this until now? What a gorgeous model - I love every single thing about it, from the sheer boatload of functions down to the tiniest aesthetic detail. This would be a phenomenal official set with massive educational value. Bloody well done, Jundis
