  1. Well, that was a bit extreme (all credit goes to Alexandre Rossier).
  2. The Mack Anthem and the Land Rover beg to disagree. As for the rest, I'd much rather pay double top dollar for Sheo's model than regular top dollar for TLG's because, unlike the former, the latter has bugger all in terms of interesting and/or innovative building techniques. But hey, to each his own
  3. All the evidence you need is in Sheo's thread. He packed way more detail and intricacy into a considerably smaller package and without the benefit of parts such as planetary hubs and flip-flop beams, neither of which was available back then.
  4. Sheo's model is light-years ahead of TLG's, both technically and aesthetically.
  5. This is the type of model I love Mid-scale, as few motors as possible while packing a ton of functions, and good looks to boot.
  6. That's pretty impressive as a B model - well, C model in your case since you already designed a B model And thanks for sharing the instructions
  7. Nice suspension mod on paper but in practice it's supported by a one-beam-thick structure, which is wisible.
  8. While not strictly related to 42070 but rather an extension of the set's underlying idea, you can easily build an efficient RC gearbox without Control+ or any other app. 8043 would be the most basic example, or this for something a li'l more complex.
  9. Aren't these in yellow new as well?
  10. The (minor) problem with that approach is that you'd have Ackermann even in crab mode. This part here should do the trick:
  11. That's an amazing piece of engineering you've crafted. And thanks for sharing the ldr!
  12. Oh wow, this is just next-level awesome
  13. I guess it's worth remembering Sheo's masterpiece: smaller, more detailed and technically more advanced.
  14. Since 42070 just came up, I guess another irksome detail worth mentioning is false advertising. 42070 was advertised as a tow truck - but it's not a tow truck. Oh, and it was overpriced
  15. On that point, it seems the angular motor only costs €5 more than its L counterpart (B&P prices), so those two tread-driving fellas sure don't do much to justify the price. So unless a certain retailer across the border cuts the MSRP like it did with the Liebherr, leading to a 40% discount come Schwarzer Freitag, it's gonna be a pass.
  16. Way to take a massive dump on someone who's contributed to the Lego community for years, providing free access to a treasure trove of free ideas and apps. Where are your inspiring contributions?
  17. The sheer amount of detail and functionality in such a small package is mind-blowing
  18. I used this solution for my cherry picker (M motor for the wave selector & 2 L motors to drive the functions) - it works a real treat. Didumos' 90° limiter came in very handy, of course.
  19. The agility of this crawler is insane! Also, gotta love how at one point there's so much torque that a "rock" breaks off the "mountain" Did you notice any wear on the U-joint driving the steering actuator? Get well soon - surgery sucks. Hope it wasn't anything serious.
