Greetings from the new guy!
Your story rings so many bells with me. Right down to the fact that I'm called Dave and in my late (no, wait, senior mid!) 20s!!! Welcome to the forum

Liverpool Lego Store?
Just on the comment of having one north of the border, I'd love to see this too. I can rarely justify trips down south but I do find myself in Glasgow/Edinburgh on a semi-frequent basis. However, with a Liverpool store, I am looking forward to this, I find myself in the area every so often, so an added distraction is more than welcome

How open are you about your Lego passion?
Absolutely no issue with my Lego passion. I get mocked for it, but in an affectionate way, and I quite enjoy it. I know folk who have all sorts of hobbies, my old man builds model railways (I enjoy that too but it is far too expensive), I've friends who fly remote control planes, build Airfix, you name it and they are all proud of it so I see no reason why I can't be proud of my hobby! There's always a Lego model on my other half's table and folk now just ask "He's bought a new one, hasn't he?!!"

When did your collection reach critical mass?
Not even bothering with part counts, but I'm already out of space. My old school collection is at my parents house and the little space that was allocated here as an interim measure has gone beyond bursting point. I need a new house basically, with a Lego room!

Van of chemical protection
Nicely done, I like the detail. Good use of the new minifig too

REVIEW: 3648 Police Chase
A little pricey, I agree, but I do like the Police car. Finally bought mine a couple of weeks ago, had a bit of fun building but would have expected a bit more for the cost.

LEGO CITY 7696 - PRIVATE JET
Mine arrived today, which has kept me buzzing as I couldn't build it due to "real" construction tasks (painting, electrics, that kind of thing!). It is a brilliant little build, very classic town 4-wide plane. I don't like the wings much though, they would have been better as a solid construction and the tail piece looks a little off, could have been a little more flush with the structure. But all good, and I'm having fun playing with it

REVIEW: 7696 Private Jet
Nice review. It's making me excited, I just received the email confirmation that my order has been dispatched, so hopefully be with me soon. I've got to admit, this will fit in just nicely with my 6392 airport (My link). I think that it would be a little pricey per part if this was just a regular set, however given the exclusivity and sheer awesome design, I'm not begrudging my £18. Will be a fun distraction for my days off from work

LEGO CITY 7696 - PRIVATE JET
That's mine ordered too. Nice little treat and possible "investment"

Review: 6361 Mobile Crane
Another classic set I own. Unfortunately, with the exception of the crate (which is still in existence), the crane is scattered in many parts in several boxes. I ought to have a look to see if I still have the entire set! In my old town it used to find work at my harbour (6541 - Intercoastal Seaport and 6542 - Launch & Load Seaport). A common story used to involve it competing with 6352 - Cargomaster Crane for work and the operators of said vehicles getting into many comic fights, keeping my already overstretched police busy! (Too much imagination as a child. Even more so as a grown up now that I want to rebuild them!)

Bill and Mary Go to the Airport!
Incredible. Whilst the pictures are great, I can't help but feel they only show a small fraction of this amazing airport. The model must look great and well worth the time of construction and planning. As for the little story, it really made me chuckle, some of the sheer silliness in the scenes cracked me up (a chicken on the tracks!!). Good effort, you've made the thought of my impending nightshift tonight a lot more bearable

Review: 6665 River Runners
I have this set still fully assembled (though the female and "pilot" minifigs are missing somewhere!) at my parents' house. I loved it, one of my favourite sets :)

What are you listening to?
I currently have "Sick, sick, sick" by Queens of the Stone Age playing at the moment. I wonder if there's scope to changing the lyrics to that of a Lego theme and calling it "Brick, brick, brick"...

MOC: Truck with Snowplough
Hi Sleepie, Nice design with some good details, I like the spreader at the rear. Welcome to the forums, perhaps you could give us a little introductory story over in the new members section :-)
