It is a GT3 RS, you can tell by the intake vents in front of the rear fenders. It also has an electronic controlled dual clutch manual gear box.

I just watched your review and you did a very nice job. One thing though is that those extra pieces you have are supposed to go next to the building on the dock so that when the plank is lowered it sits level.

The other thing that is really expensive are the sails. They are about 80 bucks for all of them on BL and some are almost not available. I just got the few missing pieces I needed to complete mine besides Steve, the Admiral, and the sails. I made my own sails out of canvas and went without the two minifigs. I find it interesting that the minifigs were gone, must have traded them to friends when I was young.

I received a 8865 when I was 7 and built that myself. Even with the high price I still would not be surprised if most of the sales are for kids. How many kids do you see with beats headphones? That is in the same price category, and there are a lot of headphones that are much cheaper.

Probably because that's how the steering is on the real car.

I still think this will have more value without rc. As soon as it is rc all the functions we have speculated on will be dumbed down and then it will no longer be worth it.

I don't see the steering wheel at all on the high res images of the box. I did see 2 images of this with the wheels just off of straight and the steering wheel is at 5 degrees and another with the wheels further to the right and the steering wheel at 30 degrees.

Every time I have my 8880 or 8865 out I shift gears, it is the best part of those sets. I don't think your comparison is accurate at all, those two cars are a lot closer together then this set and 8070.

The trunkdoor being tiny is how all real Porsches are, every real 911 based Porsche you can only see the back of the engine. The paddle shifters are definitely pull style, if they were push the rubber bands would be pulling them the other way.

Wouldn't it be more likely that the center console shifter is for switching between forward, reverse, and park being that we are working out how the paddle shifters work. That is how it is in many cars that have a sequential gearbox.

No you can't, but you also can't make a big heavy lego car ever perform like an actual RC car can you? I would rather have a very nice display car with lots of function then an rc car with very limited capabilities as such.

I am actually hoping it is not rc, that will be the difference in whether or not I buy one. I have Tamiya cars to fill that need.

It looks like the Porsche has paddle gear shifters, which would be a real neat feature and probably pretty sophisticated if the drivetrain is set up like a real Porsche.
