  1. I'd lik to congratulate @grohl for creating this model. Sure, as we all know, it has some problems, like every technic set it seems, but softer springs and different wheels could do much to this set. RM8 has published a nice offroad video highlighting the capabilities of this set: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2U4hMskqng And after seeing this all the reviews I have seen so far are in a different light. This truck has some serious power and the remote diff-lock is a very nice touch to fully remote control the truck. I wonder if the set designers have a word with the app or if they have to "arrange" hemselves with whatever the app-division comes up with. Also interesting (and pretty cool) is the x-ray 3d version within the app to see how the functions work and what they do. Nice. Being the old white technology oriented man I am I appreciate this but somehow am more for manual functions, without any app dependence (like the tow truck) but for this set I thnk there was no other way to have it remote controlled so they tried to enrich the experience with those extras.
  2. It does give you a certificate if you mean the "Certificate of Ownership" with the two blank lines to put your name and serial number. PM me if you'd like to have it sent to you.
  3. The raised wheels an already be seen as early as 0:19. It looks like the snap-connection from the main body to the two noses is one or maybe a half stud too high, the grey areas don't have the same height: I know the body is 7 and the nose 5 studs wide but the marked areas are both 6.
  4. Maybe the gap is so large to allow the train to climb ramps without having to rebuild for the inclination?
  5. Great review highlighting some aspects I did not know yet. Yeah, Google Translate to the rescue though things might got lost in translation but hey. Things I wondered about: Why the overcomplicated triangle shaped ends at the edges of the base? How many of the pieces are used just for the (pretty) base and not the model? The train is standing on bricks and not loosely on the tracks; which I have already seen somewhere else, but there was a guy asking for it here The top edge of the rails themselves are not even and flat like in the pictures shown so far but have these small teeth which IMHO does not look too good Are these rail parts recolors from ye olde times where there were blue toothes rails? Poor red rubbers; I suspect whey won't like standing on these teeth for ages Personally I wouldn't have minded the connecting clamps of the modern rails but then you wouldn't be able to sculpt the base in colors Everything in this set is printed if I understood correctly - oh, wait, the plaque has a sticker... really? Some color-barf inside but not too bad overall might allow some MOCs Magnetic couplers Nice catch with the white between the three parts of the train on the sticker :D How bad are the gaps in reality? Do they offend much? Nice review, thanks!
  6. AFAIK they're bog old standard tires, so they shouldn't be too expensive.
  7. Would you have preferred brown seats and interior?
  8. Yes, those pictures are amazing! Even gray and olive work really well on them. LEGO really should have printed those tires. May I ask if the scenery is photoshopped? It does not look like it because of the reflection on the table and the blur of the box matching its surrounding's blur. Or it is a render?
  9. Oh, great. Because from what I have seen it has around 60. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pl3dbK5V8Zo&t=155
  10. Sorry to dig out this old thread but i'd ike to know if the Chiron's Owners-Only pack can be seen somewhere without entering the code? I don't want to use it up.
  11. Oh, boy, this set is a letdown. It looks very skeletal, the cab could use way more functions (like tilting), the doors will probably open but look unfinished and it does not have many parts to begin with. A B-Model would be difficult or at best be one of the back-to-front trucks shown above, which I personally have never seen to date, very interesting. Price is ouf course too high because a) Lego and b) the two pricy drum-halves with internal spiral. The drum is also only open on one side, so there go your GBC dreams. And that yellow steering axle
  12. I am sorry, but could you explain to me what makes it a "real" review?
  13. If the flap could be made to open to the rear it would be easier to open the battery box but it works anyway. Rotating the box would also work but will probably mess up the sensors' orientations. The bushed pins come from the inside of the doors, where there are plenty. The blue half-pins from the angled Technic L-beam are not needed anymore; those are currently stored by me in the Technic L-beam and you can see them in the pictures.
