[MOC] The quest for the ultimate 42065 RC Tracked Racer
Joefraser replied to kbalage's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThe Models Good job on the builds, I've built a few versions myself and found the large motors to perform very well- don't own buggy motors and didn't feel as if the XL's were worth doing but I may well give them a whirl now. The Video Good production standard overall, nicely timed edits combined with a range of shots compliment a well focused and shot video. I especially liked the line up shot with all the models for comparison, very good piece of editing there and well worth the effort from a viewers perspective. Liked the video and subscribed to channel.

[CONCEPT] Double Torque Tube Suspension
Joefraser replied to Zerobricks's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingNice system and great reply Zblj, I love the look of it and as said above taking a detrimental feature of lego (the slack) and utilising it in its design is more impressive than using your education as an introduction. I don't have an Msc in mechanical engineering, but does that matter in the real world of lego building? I plan on creating in LDD to try and incorporate it into my project... it may be a touch too wide though and I don't have all the real world parts currently- though my building buddy does! Thanks for sharing :).

Here a Technic modding beginner. Where to start?
Joefraser replied to Djinn's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingFor small to medium MOC's I always end up using the L motor as my go to. The XL has its applications, but for a bit of pace the L motor always works! Get a pair of them if your budget allows it, they always come in handy.
