With the Crossbone Clipper and Armada Flagship the main problems are the awful multicoloured hull pieces. Either have them all black or all brown or a mix of brown and black not bright colours and certainly not white!
Re: Pirates of the Caribbean, it would also have been cool if they'd released one of the Royal Navy ships to rival the pirates.
Either Dauntless, Interceptor or Endeavour.
Yeah I understand. They are definitely cool sets and I can see the interest in them when there are no other Pirate sets being released.
I think they "missed the boat" with the early classic Pirate stuff where they could have had some better and bigger Imperial vessels to rival BSB. They really should have released a bluecoat ship of a similar size to the BSB in the 1991 follow up to the launch range.
Lego always did great ranges of small, medium and big sets so you could build collections up. I loved the small sets as a kid as I could get one a week with my pocket money.
Just being pedantic but the bluecoats leader is not an admiral. He's called Governor Broadside. He was only available in the Caribbean Clipper and Fort Eldorado sets. He seems to wear his hat with a different coloured feather in the 2 sets.
Recently won a 6267 Lagoon Lockup.
Looks to be in great condition in the photos so now just waiting for it to be posted.
i actually already have this set but it was in the purple Lego System box and the rest of my boxed sets are in the classic yellow Legoland boxes. So this new 6267 should match the others! ?
I'd love to get this set but it seems to be getting even more expensive.
wish I'd have got it off eBay about 18 months ago when someone was selling it boxed for just over £120.
7 hours doesn't sound too bad.
I read several people online taking 13-14 hours?!?!
Have got the set but trying to put aside some time to build it. I don't really want to do it in bits and am thinking of doing either a time lapse video or stop motion.
I'm thinking time lapse at the moment as I don't like the idea of taking over 4600 pictures??!?!?
Great review.
This is the first Pirate set I got as a kid so I love it.
Have got 3 now (1 boxed, 2 unboxed) plus an extra baseplate.
With the crane string I usually wind it around one of the bricks above the prison cell to shorten it.
