[MOC] Mining Dump Truck - Lego Technic 42114 Model B
trinitechnic replied to eric trax's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingFinally gotten around to making the Liebherr and this, it’s really an excellent moc. I do have one question however, is it normal for the lateral tilt to constantly read 45 degrees in this moc? It responds to movement but defaults to 45, all the time. Tried recalibrating twice, no help. Can anyone advise? The vertical tilt seems to be reading normally.

42131 Cat D11 Mods and improvements
trinitechnic replied to efferman's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingRecently bought the set but haven’t had a crack at it yet. Is it possible to transmit the drive from the staircase rotation to instead power ripper angle? Also, @efferman, how is your mod going? I’m very interested in moving the drive motors to their correct position.

Porsche 911 10295
Hello, Forgive me if I'm posting this in the wrong forum, I'm only familiar with the technic forum. I wanted to ask, would 10295 ultimately be available from retailers? I live in the Caribbean and have to order my lego from Amazon US, but I've noticed that 10295 is yet to appear for sale there. Is it that it would only be a lego store exclusive? The US lego site won't ship to me. If anyone can advise me I'd be most grateful. Sorry for being a bit off topic.

[MOC] Pneumatic Backhoe Loader
trinitechnic replied to shimon's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThis is bloody amazing! I love the complexity of backhoe loaders, especially side shift models. You've really nailed this and the aesthetics are perfect as well! I'd love to see this in action and I hope for kindness in you making instructions available for this. It's easily one of the best technic backhoe loader designs I've seen. Keep up the great work!

42080 pneumatic pump
trinitechnic replied to trinitechnic's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingAppreciate the reply @MisteryMan, I wasn’t too certain as the box art itself shows the first gen, round base pump. Thanks.

42080 pneumatic pump
Hello all, Further to this post: Can anyone confirm if 42080 contains the revised pump variant, with the square, reinforced base? I know that the updated part was implemented in 2018, but I'm not sure if it made it into 42080. Thank you.

[MOC] Motor grader CAT 120M2
trinitechnic replied to Jundis's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI'm a huge fan of CAT equipment and a grader is not an easy machine to replicate, you've done an amazing job here! The colour scheme is perfect as well. Excellent use of pneumatics, hope we can get a resurgence of pneumatic sets soon so that experts like you could make more beauties like this! Well done again!

42108 availability
trinitechnic replied to trinitechnic's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThank you all for the replies, very much appreciated. I live in Trinidad, WI and am therefore usually limited to ordering via Amazon US. As one of you pointed out, it is available on amazon us but the price is a bit steep for me at this time. I'm waiting until it goes back to its MSRP before purchasing. Thank you all again, best wishes and be safe.

42108 availability
Hello, Has 42108 been retired? From the US retailers, its seems difficult to find and usually at least 50% markup. On lego.us, its listed as out of stock, along with 42082, which must be getting put out to pasture by now.

Are there currently any smaller digger/excavator models being sold by Lego as new?
trinitechnic replied to ScT's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI just want to say that this was a genuinely heartwarming little thread to read; really nice to see us help one another and really happy to hear another young one being introduced to technic. Best wishes to all of you.

42082 - Rough Terrain Crane
trinitechnic replied to Ngoc Nguyen's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingHello all, What was the initial price of this set in USD? And how much longer should it be in production? My funds are a bit tight at the moment but I'm hoping to pick one up from amazon at $300 USD in April. Thank you

Axle Collection Thread
trinitechnic replied to efferman's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingSo I have scrolled through this entire thread and I must say the ideas are impressive! I am currently attempting to build a backhoe loader moc, roughly the same scale as 8455, using the same wheels and front bucket, but with side shift backhoe and motorised compressor. I have made a steered front axle with pendular suspension but I'm afraid it is not as strong as I'd hoped it would be and a bit too cumbersome. I have not been able to eliminate bump steer either. In short, I need a VERY robust steering axle, 18-19 studs wide (with the small front wheels from 8455) with pendular suspension. Drive is not needed as I don't have the space for a piston engine once the compressor is installed, but a tight turning radius in an overall compact package is needed. I do not have the hub pieces that many of the mocs on this thread use and this has been a limiting factor. I know there are some true geniuses on this forum and any help would be appreciated!

Small yet powerful compressor needed!
trinitechnic replied to trinitechnic's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingHello allanp! I will have to rebuild your compressor. As I used longer pumps, I needed a slightly bigger frame. I cannot recall exactly which direction the banks of pumps ran, but I did orient all of them upside down, with the outlets all oriented outwards. It did take a little while to achieve 40 psi, and thats without a tank. Your design had the best balance and very minimal vibration, I ran it with an xl motor. Just needed to get the pressure up to 60 psi, and perhaps make the frame smaller but not really seeing how thats possible.

Small yet powerful compressor needed!
trinitechnic replied to trinitechnic's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThank you DrJB and radafuk, unfortunately what i really need is something with a high output to be able to actuate up to four large cylinders simultaneously (as in using the loader arm), at a decent speed and with good force. Radafuk, your design looks ingenious however! I appreciate the photos! I really am keen to use an 8 pump design, however i am either not getting the output i want or the vibration is too much or the compressor itself is a little too large. Yes I am being very picky! But I realise this would be the best place to ask for advice. As a side note, DrJB, I myself am also a doctor and my senior's initials are also JB... go figure!

Small yet powerful compressor needed!
Hello all! I realise 8455 has quite a following on this forum, and I agree its one of the best technic sets of all time. However, I do want to do a hybrid mod/moc and add 4wd, a side shift backhoe and a motorised pump with tanks and an autovalve to shut off the pumps. So far, I've tried a couple of compressor designs but they are either not powerful enough or too large, my most recent attempt was a copy of a allanp(radbot) design with eight compressors, but using the new 6l pumps I can only generate 35-40 psi and it does not make enough pressure as fast as I'd hoped it would. It's also a large design, to big to fit into the size of the original 8455. I would really appreciate some ideas from any one on this!

42053 - Volvo EW160E
trinitechnic replied to Jim's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThanks for the pics effe! I know the first mod I'll be doing (after motorising the compressor, as was said to be possible with the pf upgrade), will be to change that grab to a standard bucket. Should be easy enough with the new long cylinders. Any idea what the scale of the model is roughly? Will it fit in with the arocs or with the previous volvo loader?
