  1. interested to know whether any of the pieces can be used to MOD Jerac"s version - engines perhaps?
  2. I'm not a great user of Flickr so this could go a bit askew You may notice that I used shorter black hose for the tail - longer pearl grey pieces are like gold dust in the UK.
  3. Ok, I am hoping that this, my tenth post might free up some additional upload capacity for me to post some photos here, otherwise I will have to contact you through other channels
  4. Hi Rustindiel. It really was not meant as a complaint, I always expect to be doing some tweaking at some point when building other people's MOCs. The main culprit was the black bar 4L which simply would not slide into the grey technic pin 3L after it had been placed in the pulley wheel. I worked my way around this using a combination of light sabre hilts and technic rods and by rearranging the distance between the pulley wheels. Happy to send you some photos of my efforts. As I said, my view is that there will always be some workarounds when building MOCs - part of the fun. I'm just aware that some people like a heads-up before attempting it themselves - no criticism meant, it is a superb build
  5. Ok, I finished the modified version of this. If you are thinking of attempting it yourself, I'd say be prepared to modify the engines - some pieces are simply not going to fit together. Other than that, it is a lovely build and a lot more stable than Inthert's original royal version.
  6. There are errors in the instruction? (Not yet built mine - got 80% of pieces)
  7. Yes - got their eventually. Thanks for the pointer.
  8. Bought the instructions from Brickvault but was unable to upload the parts list because: The following items in the XML file are invalid or do not exist in the Bricklink Catalog. Please fix the following errors: Item No: 40345 Anyone else experience this problem and is there a fix? Thanks
  9. I had to 'train' my front end using an elastic band to reduce the gap against the cockpit. The gaps that really bothers me are those at top of the entrance doors either side of the shop. Still not happy with them.
  10. Ok I will be willing to concede that I may well have overdone the 'patchwork' on my model: It appears that my Luddism doesn't allow me to add any more pictures. Suffice to say I am happy - rather surprised to be honest - at how this modification turned out. My narrative has always been that the ship, at some point, has required extensive repair work on the starboard engine which has been carried out by less than reputable engineers I'm 54. Lego does that to you.
  11. Well I haven't finished mine - possibly because I have been fiddling around with colours too much! Here you can see the use of old grey, sand blue, dark tan and swapping in DBG for LBG. Oh and replacing LBG grills and ingots with silver.
  12. Ok, long time lurker but felt I had to contribute to this thread. I am currently in the process of building this thing and for me it has simply confirmed my view of Jerac being a total and utter genius. I have built his TIE bomber and TIE fighter but this is simply on another level. If I may add one or two pointers for those people currently getting the pieces together for construction. Firstly, don't get too hung up on getting the precise colours of brick as set out in the instructions. The model is incredibly grey - which made sense for Jerac's TIE models - but here, as it has already been pointed out, this is a ship that has undergone a lot of repair work and you would expect some variation in the bodywork colour. I have been switching in silver, sand blue and DBG for panel work, particularly round the engines. I would also seriously recommend ordering some silver 'ingot' and grill pieces to switch into the the engine work - this actually adds to the overall effect of the LBG somehow. Mind you, I perhaps would not go as far as switching all the bodywork to silver. Then again, the beauty of lego is the ability to adapt and tinker with models to your heart's content - this thing has certainly got plenty of scope for that. Enjoy it, it is a thing of beauty. Thanks Jerac.
