[MOC] Treasure Chest by Slawek Kaczorowski
Very impressed by this MOC. I looked hard, wondering if this was really LEGO or whether custom parts had been used. Well done - it looks awesome!

LEPIN brings out Monster Fighters HAUNTED HOUSE (16007)
Just a comment.... and this is my POV, I'm not telling anyone else what to do. I look at sets like the "Tower of Orthanc", the "Imperial Flagship" and "Temple of Airjitzu" and they look like a lot of fun. Two of these sets are retired, one is not. The cost for all of these sets is very high (whether via Bricklink or not). All three of these sets have Bootleg copies made but I've not bought any even though I have been very tempted. Why? When it comes down to it, and I have played this out in my head, how do I explain to my kids that it's okay to buy a LEGO copy? What does it teach them if I do? I have a hard enough time trying to explain to kids in a digital age what is right and what is wrong. The slippery slope for me is that I really like the minifigures that the KO companies produce. For example, it's possible to get copies of all of the Disney Princess figures for <$10 (or all of the main Star Wars Force Awakens characters) and I hate the fact that LEGO doesn't provide an option to buy an equivalent set. To buy those LEGO figures one would have to buy a multitude of sets or Bricklink the individual minifigures for $10+ each. It's just silly. I'm quite fascinated by what is happening with Bootleg Lego, but I think I sit in the Robianco camp (from what he has described). I like the figures for MOCs where genuine LEGO parts aren't available (or until they do become available).

Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?
I wonder when the bootleggers will produce a set of all of the SW Rogue One characters. I mean, the sets are out now. It can't be far off.

Forum Upgrade
Hi there, this is the first "Reply" that I've managed. The "Reply to this topic" button is missing for me from many (all?) of the threads in the Eurobricks Community --> Community area. I can start new topics, but can't reply to any established topics. As per my comments on Facebook, this is the same for me across three different devices so it must surely be a user setting. Previously I had access. Please could this be investigated. Cheers, Bruce PS: And another thing that is strange - it's recording that this is only my 2nd post. I've posted more than that. Maybe there is something wonky about my account and that is why I can no longer "Reply" to certain topics.

Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?
Hi folks, I found this really interesting link in which someone has provided links to all of the "Knock Off" (aka Bootleg) brick sets from the different companies. I thought some of you mind find it useful for those of you who want sets. https://sites.google.com/site/wpkobrickswiki/home Cheers, Bruce

Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?
Hi folks, I thought I'd share some photos of my acquisitions and my POV as to whether they are any good or not. Up until now I've been content to lurk, but I thought I'd share in case it helps others. 1. PG026 Professor X with Wheelchair Verdict - pleasantly surprised. Pogo quality has improved a lot. I also like the wheelchair but I like what others have done to create the yellow hover chair. I might give that a shot. 2. PG029 - Mystique Verdict: Again, pleasantly surprised (apologies for the blurry photo on this one). The print quality is good. 3. PG023 - Psylocke Verdict: Printing flesh colours on purple legs doesn't work (I might touch up). I'll also probably replace the head as it just doesn't work for me. Psylocke is okay, just not great. 4. PG028 - Archangel Verdict: I expected more from this figure. The wings are just a single silvery piece - I might repaint it. The print is good though (including arm printing). 5. PG023 - Rogue (and erm, Rogue's identical twin sister) Verdict: It's Rogue. C'mon, can't make a bad Rogue. I bought two just to be sure that I'd get one decent one. The torso print is clean/clear. I could touch up the silver in the hair with paint. The head/face will be chucked and I'll replace it. Again, Pogo quality has improved. 6. PG027 - Iceman Verdict: Iceman is awesome. He looks good - far surpassing my expectations. Print on arms as well. 7. Xinh 266 - War Machine - Verdict: Yeah, I know it's an older figure, but I wanted this one for the torso piece, but the head is also usable. No real complaints. Looks good. 8. Star Wars Dewback with Stormtrooper Verdict: Well, you see I have the official LEGO Cantina set but no dewback, so I wanted the dewback. The dewback itself is good, the reins are good, but the saddle assembly consists of pretty poor quality pieces. It fits together, just. I think I'll see if normal LEGO pieces will fit the back of the dewback nicely, and then I'll Bricklink the pieces and replace the very ordinary stormtrooper. Anyway, those are my thoughts. Hope this helps someone out there. Cheers, Bruce

[MOC] Imperial Star Destroyer Tyrant
I've been a lurker on Eurobricks for a while, but this.... this made me finally get an account just to add some more words of praise. It's an astonishing piece of work. Well done.
