  1. The one you posted is similar to what I used, but older and with a different tread pattern.
  2. Actually, I just think that for some pieces the color should be changed, e.g., the panel in front of the front wheel with the DBG 7L liftarm behind it. I admit, in retrospect my first post was a bit rash, so I edited it. Honsetly, this set is exactly what I've wanted for a long time.
  3. Truck: Looks ok, but that DBG panel in the back is out of place. Couldn't they just use another red one to match the truck? Boat with small car: Looks good, I like it. Catamaran: Hard to see but looks really good, but from a distance. Hopefully it will look good up close. Rally car: Exactly what I wanted. It is awesome, I will definitely get it. But I think in some places the colors should be changed. I'm still excited the most to see that Mack truck. I also still think 2016 was the peak of Technic, and 2018 isn't on par with the quality of that years' sets. But I could be wrong, I'll have to wait until they are released.
  4. Pullback racers look pretty bad and have lots of random LBG parts. I know it's part of the function, but I hope Lego will do better when they are officially released. They remind me of the old Racers pullbacks. https://brickset.com/sets/theme-Racers/year-2007 Hook loader truck: looks good and seems very clean, without lots of colors. Compactor looks good, but the tires seem kind of weird. Mack Truck: That looks very cool, now I'm excited.
  5. I was messing around and got the idea for this combo: inside of It looks pretty good IMO. Also it's the small tire from 9393, not the big one from 42029.
  6. I was initially worried that I wouldn't be very interested in a wacky contest when I first learned of the theme. But after seeing it officially released I am pretty excited, and I think I have a good idea...
  7. Agreed. (I'm talking about other MOCs, not trying to brag about mine) @Aventador2004 Thanks! Sadly this is true, but something I hope to improve upon in my next MOC.
  8. Exactly! That's actually possible by putting 1x2 tiles between the rim and tire: Maybe I will do that and show it on the car later. Ok, I did. Enter the spoiler at your own risk.
  9. Haha, I would've probably done the same. Sadly I don't have that yet, maybe if I get it I will do this. I didn't realize how bad this was until I got another good look at it.
  10. First off, I apologize if this is in the wrong forum. I thought this would be the best place for this topic since this is more of a Model Team set. Mods, please move this if you see fit to do so. Hello everyone! Today I am presenting a tiny MOD to the set 10248 Ferrari F40 to make it stanced and turn it into the drift supercar you know you always wanted! And yes, it does roll. Here are some quick pics of what I did: Tell me what you think! Anything from "I love it!" to "How could you! You ruined my favorite supercar!" is fine!
  11. Ok, is it the steering wheel or the flex axles over the front tires?
  12. The rims. They don't make them in black. Cool model, I like the blue, black, and white color scheme. I don't think you have to raise the back that much, but instead change the roofline to make it a bit lower. Other than that it's visually pleasing. Sorry about it not working right, I know that can be very annoying.
  13. Thanks! Ok, I think this looks pretty good.
  14. Thanks everyone so much for all your kind words! Ok, how's this for the hood? I angled the pieces to make it like an air intake. I agree, this is why there are holes. I like to try to make MOCs that have the overall shape of the real thing by modeling the most important areas, and having spaces elsewhere. I appreciate the input, but I doubt I will try this, since A) I don't have them and don't really feel like getting them now and B) I would have to redesign the suspension since it relies on the 3 pinholes in the rims, which those rims don't have. I may change my mind though. I'm entering this in a competition and I have to keep it assembled if I win to prove I'm the winner. There's a long time I must keep it built so my mind could change. I didn't notice this, but you're right. Thanks you two!
  15. Here is an updated post. I put the original post in this spoiler. Video! And some actually good pics:
  16. Interesting, I'll have to try it.
  17. I use a Fujifilm Finepix XP120. It works well for the simple pictures I take. Also here's an example of a rule of thirds outdoor shot:
  18. The camera focuses on a small part of the car because it is not in the center of the photo. An example of where it focuses is the leftmost point on the car, so the rest of it is blurry. The first photo shows this. Yes, here's an example. Shot was 1/4 sec. f/4.4 7.7mm And here's the original picture, without the filter.
  19. Thanks! I didn't realize I had used the rule of thirds until after the photo was taken. When the model was displayed I saw it from an angle like that and wanted to have a picture of it like that. Since it is a point and shoot, not a DSLR, I can't change much, and the aperture is automatic. But here are the settings: Shot: 1/8 sec. f/3.9 5mm ISO: 400 Here it is sharpened: It's a bit better, but the real solution would be taking the pic with the model in focus, like this bottom one. Settings: Shot: 1/15 sec. f/4.3 6.9mm ISO 200 However I believe this last one is the best, because of the colors of the car, the clarity, and the background. Settings: Shot:1/15 sec. f/4.4 7.7mm ISO: 400 Also all of these pictures use a filter to get a more consistent background.
  20. Just copy and paste the link to the video directly in the post:
  21. After seeing this topic resurface I thought I would share 2 photos I took of similar cars that were taken about a year apart from each other, to see how I have improved. The older one, which had no editing. And the newer one, that I did edit: It also uses the rule of thirds, which the first photo ignores. And it was shot with a real camera, instead of a camcorder like the former. But sadly most of it is out of focus. Tell me what you think! That sounds fun, I might try it. But the question is, start now or wait until the new year?
  22. @LvdH Thanks for sharing this, however I don't think I can use it because of the small scale of my car. Thanks for the effort though! Works great, however the indicators would be weird, like 21 43 if you were looking at it from behind the engine.
