Thanks! How did you manage to get them in there? And good catch about the length, back to the drawing board :)

That one also looks good. Love the idea of using the rounded sides.Going to try that later tonight. Thanks for the tip :) Changed it to rounded bricks: not sure which one I like most: Render_Tatooine05 by Robby Timmermans, on Flickr
  3. I like the second version better. It looks more streamlined.

True, it keeps the lego feel a bit more. I think I'll build both versions as soon as I have all the parts. After all, the studless version is the same as the version with studs, only the roof is lowered a bit.

That's what LDD wants, not what I want In real life you can perfectly slide the antenna's through the holes. The stop is big enough so that the antenna doesn't slide to the bottom.

Thanks for the input, studless it will be One thing I'm a bit proud of is the moisture vaporator, I've looked at several pictures and think I'm quite close to the original. The only problem in LDD is that I can't get the antenna's through the holes. I've attached the LXF file for those that are interested. moisture vaporator v2 by Robby Timmermans, on Flickr Edit: now with the cone in the right place. moisture vaporator.lxf

I want to create a diorama from Tatooine. So I started small with a homestead: Render_Tatooine02 by Robby Timmermans, on Flickr I've created 2 versions (not counting the x revisions ), one with a studless roof and one with studs: Render_Tatooine04 by Robby Timmermans, on Flickr Render_Tatooine01 by Robby Timmermans, on Flickr So, which version should I keep, the studless or with studs? And for those who recognize this homestead, it's based on the homestead in the gorgeous diorama from Marshal Banana: diorama by marshal banana, on Flickr
  8. Thanks for the detailed pics! I'm going to see if I have all the parts needed to do this change, looks a lot better than the original.

Excellent review, but you touched on a point why I sometimes like stickers: alignment. The lines on the side of the car aren't perfectly aligned. This is inherent to the way it is produced. With stickers you could align them yourself (and blame yourself for screwing it up ). I love the minifig expression change when explaining the loading capacity of the back, gave me a good chuckle. All in all I reward this review
  10. Absolutely love this model Looking forward to see what you come up with to replace the sun screen.
  11. A dedicated index, great idea. Bookmarked :)
  12. Absolutely in love with those A-Wings It seems that brickshelf is down, let's hope it comes back up soon. EDIT: and it's back up :)
  13. Thanks for sharing the build file! Going to try and build one for my X-Wing
  14. Nice review, learned a new word: swooshability The double helmet of Vader looks great.
  15. True, but it makes it easier to use thuimbnails. As for creating them, you can do a batch resize with irfanview.
  16. You could use a lightbox script for that: http://lokeshdhakar.com/projects/lightbox2/
  17. Wow, that's an impressive beast. Excellent tip, going to hunt that one down.
  18. What would be a good set (or sets) that contains a lot of gears, ... to try out different gearboxes and other systems?
  19. So many details, it doesn't stop. Amazing. My personal favorite is the greenhouse, probably one of the simpler builds but I think it's beautiful. The custom decals you made are top notch.
  20. I hadn't seen the site yet so I didn't know 100.000 request a week probably won't be enough seeing that he had 64.000 visits per day at one point.
  21. A good example of an anti hotlinking method can be found here: http://www.javascriptkit.com/howto/htaccess10.shtml A CDN service (content delivery network) is also an option. If you're using wordpress, you can find more info here: http://www.wpexplorer.com/free-cdn-services-for-wordpress/ Hope that helps.
  22. Try installing a hot linking script which shows a low bandwidth image saying that pictures are available when visiting the site or something like that. This way you avoid other sites eating up your bandwidth and encourages people to either host the images themselves somewhere (watermark them) or link to the page containing the image.
  23. Just watched the video. The details are amazing! Love the surface blaster. The hatch with the diafragma closing, how did you build that one?
