  1. Don’t worry, since its beginning, we have always understood that Ninjago needs its TV show in the long term. There are no plans to do away with the show. This wave is just a special case to account for shifts in consumer demands and the plans for our 2HY 2022 wave.
  2. Lol, I figured this would be the most polarizing one. As I did not have enough characters to explain it in a tweet, I’ll elaborate a bit. Nexo has its angular shapes, blues and neon oranges. Ninjago has gold, brown and the bold ninja color schemes. Because Hidden Side is rooted in the real world, all our sets, in some state or another look like things you could find in real life. In order to tie them together as bad guy and good guy vehicles, we decided to establish a clear color decide. Muted and darker tones for the bad guy vehicles and locations. Bright and saturated colors for the good guy vehicles. Vaughn’s car is where the two meet as he is a ghost but he is also a good guy character. The reason the dark red truck was done up with all the stickers is because we ended up testing it with kids against the bright red one and the bright red one won by an overwhelming margin. I can throw a bunch of design theory at it, but in the end, that is all that matters. :p

  5. This is awesome! I love the shoulder pads, aggressive feet and the fins on the knees. I designed this set and seeing people build cool stuff out of it couldn’t make me happier!
  6. The spring yellowish green family mould is indeed a mistake, one that we are aware of. It only appears in the subway (70430). Make sure you contact customer support and request the proper transparent neon green ones. Keep the spring yellowish green ones, they might become quite a rare item. :p
  7. They physically fit next to each other. they are both built in a shallow V shape.
  8. That’s exactly why they don’t connect together. Things get quite fiddly when trying to fit a figure all the way through. We imagined it was like opening up a house, you take them apart to play inside. I like you said it’s there for thematic and story reasons.
  9. The sets fit together. We didn't rigidly connect the sets to each other because that would come with a lot of implications for both models.
  10. Quite happy to see people excited about this theme, it was quite the journey to get where we are today. Not long now until the release! I am really looking forward to seeing what people think when they get their hands on the sets. My favorite thing about this theme is that it allowed us to do some contemporary sets that we would normally not get to do in other themes. On another note, before people get too excited and start using the word "guaranteed", in regards to a second year. Nothing is ever really guaranteed until it's on the market. So I'd recommend staying cautiously optimistic to avoid disappointments. We have a lot of stuff ready for the future, but last minute changes of plans have and will happen.
  11. The box had been designed so that’s you can easily plug the separate segments in and out of it. So you can take them out and put them in your cities! Really happy to read people like the set. :D Also, thanks for the review, @WhiteFang! I’m glad you like it,
  12. We tried 2 of those ratchet joints, they have too much wiggle. I made several shoulders that popped out with clips similar to the final design and rotated on a hinge to then pop in again, but the added wiggle of this joint did not pass quality screenings. See the ankles and shoulders for examples of the solutions we had to come up with. Normal joints have too much wiggle for a model this size, which is why I had to engineer ones from scratch.
  13. Oh, we tried. :p Not even 2 paired up are strong enough to hold that amount of weight. (3 Per hip at some point.) But give it a shot. Your expectations may be different from what we scope our quality standard on.
  14. It’s exciting to see this video go up! Just a quick correction, I meant November of 2016, obviously. :p

  17. Hey there, there are indeed stickers. Only the numbers though. We wanted to give you the option of picking whether you wanted to have the original Japanese version or the American version with the numbers. Everything else is a print. The hips on the black lion are rotated by popping them off 3 snaps on either side. You then rotate it 90 degrees and snap it back on. Believe me when I say I investigated joints. But for this extremely crucial joint, we do not have existing pieces strong enough to provide me with the friction needed. We tested at least 20 hip solutions that were all too weak. Also, thanks a lot for all the comments, :) I am so happy people seem to generally like it. 18. Don't worry about cancellation or push back, Voltron is coming. Just hang in there for a little longer!
  19. This thing looks fantastic! The face build is really neat, great job. Exactly the kind of thing we hoped to see with this contest. :D
