[MOC] Motorized Cherry Picker
Hi! Two years ago, I did a motorizable cherry picker for a contest on the french forum TechLUG. So, I used the comments I had, and I decided to : - Use a more little scale - Better proportions - I did a better cab. In the first MOC, it was too heavy because of the battery box inside it. - The first cherry picker was motorizable by a M motor ; this one is only motorized, more simple and efficient. To summararise : Better proportions (I hope ^^) Only motorized I use inverted gearboxes for : - Outriggers - Arm - Turn table And the manual functions : - The steering (of course) - Extension of the arm So, here's the result: The simplest function is the steering. But there is the L motor over it. So, I used three 16t gears to turn the wheels directly by their axle of rotation. And now, the gearbox. It's an inverted gearbox : the "out gears" turn in the opposite sense. So, when you invert the position of the driving ring, you invert the rotation of a function. Here are screenshots: The outriggers can up the truck: the wheels don't touch the floor. To finish, the arm. It has a triple deformable quadrilateral. I needed so much time to do it, but it's nice to see in action. And the video :

[MOC] Reach Stacker
Here’s my new little MOC: I wanted a small MOC, using the container truck 42024 wheels. But I also wanted that the vehicle was not been done a lot. So I chose the reach stacker, not very famous. And TLC steal my idea I wanted a quite good design, "better than reality". (the real vehicle is not very nice ^^) I think the style of the real model is here. Functions are : Steering 3 cylinders fake engine Lifting arm Extending arm Clamp, to catch the container Steering is very simple. A "rack" is activated by a crank. Fake engine is activated by only one wheel. (not enough space to put a differential). The arm is controlled by 2 LA. You can torn the 2 sides of the axle, soi t’s easier to move the arm. The arm extension is very simple: there s just a 8t on a rack. It is braked by an other 8t with a pin with friction. It can be extended quite far. To catch the container, a clamp is closed on it. Do you know what element was the more difficult to do? The container! It was difficult to find the limit between weight and full design. I’m working on building instructions. I took screenshots on LDD and I’m assembling they on Photoshop. I though this idea would have been faster than a specialized software, but I’m not sure now. ^^' I don’t know when they will be finished.

[MOC] Reform Metrac H7X
A Reform Metrac is a two-axle mower. In real life : And my MOC : I chose to make the version H7X because of the disponobility of the DBG parts. This version has been more practical to do the color sheme. Only the Hood is black. (Not possible to be DBG) I also done stickers for more realism. I didn’t find patterns, so I sent an e-mail to the company, and someone sent to me that I needed. Thanks! The main objective was to do the best design. The exhaust is very descreet, so here is a picture just for it ! The headlights are different than the H7X version. They match to the G5 version, because they were more easy and nicer to do. Steering is like on the #42054. There are 3 modes: Only front wheels 4 wheel steer Crab The difference is that there is a 4x4 transmission to activate the 2 PTO, and the front axle is pendular. Frond pendular axle: By opening the hood, you can see the 4 cylinders fake engine: The PTO can be activated using the blue levers, near the hood. There are lifts to attach the lawn mower. The front has been very difficult to make because of the pendular axle and the compactness of it. Rear lift : http://youtu.be/alPyCaJytAw

Braiding Machine
Thanks all for the comments ! There will not be building instructions for this version, because I think it is better to make building instructions for a near 100% reliable MOC. The V2, normally vey reliable (I have got ideas from a member on TechLUG and I have other ideas) will have instructions. I don't know how to explain, but it's not possible. The trays need places to get the transferred coils. You should watch an other time the video to try to see why 8 coils is the maximum on this machine.

Braiding Machine
Do you want to do ropes ? I have a solution ! I want to precise this braiding is not 100% reliable. Sometimes, a coil can block the machine. After the first prototype, I done a lot of modifications to have the best reliability, but I have not so mutch experience with this type of MOCs, and a V2 is necessary to upgrade this creation. There is a clutch to stop this machine if it is blocked. The objective was to do a braiding machine having a continuous operation, and to have a not too low speed. I had not objective concerning the number of strings. There are 8 strings + 1 central. I also really wanted a buttom to be drawn to start te machine and down to stop it. How does it work ? You can separate this machine in 3 parts : The braided wire winder The rotation of the trays The movement of the arms moving the coils You can have more tight braids by changing a gear ratio of the winder. But they are less beautiful. The rotation of the trays occupies the top of the machine. (The 24t that you can see can be easily used to coordinate the arms and the trays) Here you can see the mechanism of the arms : The linear clutch stops the machine if a coil blocks it. More picture here : http://www.techlug.f...43.html#p179043 The difficulty was to coordinate all the mechanisms and to counter stress and flexion of the parts for the machine can work without too much fails. Finally, the machine can be locked because of a coil, but I’m satisfied because it works correctly and the braids are very regular. I’ll done other MOCs of this type because I like it ! The video will show you the operation :

[MOC] Full RC Compact Excavator
The modelization is finished ! https://www.dropbox.com/s/snu1se9aykkb6uj/Mini%20Pelle%20RC.lxf?dl=0 You have to add 1 switch, 1 PF extension (20 or 50cm), 1 pair of LED, 1 mini pneumatic pump, tubing, 1 mini pneumatic cylinder, 2 pneumatic connectors (http://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=P&catString=159) and 4 flex for the rear headlights. The MOC has 1218 parts without these missing parts.

[MOC] Full RC Compact Excavator
Thanks ! I'll made building instructions (a LDD modelisation). Not immediately, when I'll have finished my latest creation. Interested people will see all the mechanisms. Victor Imaginator : Sorry, I'll not buy this set. :(

[MOC] Full RC Compact Excavator
I chose to put these functions on the gearbox because they have a different type of utility. The rotation of the arm is generally used with "precise tools", to do precise works, like the bucket (digging trenches near a wall...) or the forks (to take an object in a restricted space...), whereas the PTO is used with less precise tools like the clamp (it is not necessary to be very precise to catch rocks, dirt...). These functions can be used successively, but it is rarest with these tools. The change of function can be done when I need to change the tool. Whereas if I chose to put the blade on the gearbox (for example rotation of the arm and blade) I had to change more often the position of the gearbox. That's a possible choice, but I decided other. (and put the blade on the gearbox would have been more difficult) Finally, there are 7 functions + 1 that you can change in 2 other functions. (and 9 different functions in total)

[MOC] Full RC Compact Excavator
Thank you for the comments ! I have not instructions yet, but it's possible that I make a LDD file. The most were taken on the #8043, and the rest on many sets that I collect since 5~6 years old. That was the idea on the 2 other prototypes, but not exactly. The change of function was done if the excavator moved or not. If the driving motor was active, the other motor activated the steering (there was a subtractor). If the motor of the driving was not activated, the other motor activated a self-valve. For the explanations, driving motor is called "motor 1", the other motor (driving/self-valve) is called "motor 2". Prototype 1 : By default the self-valve was always activate by the motor 2 (function clamp). The function was changed by activating the motor 2. It activated an opening, and the air was ejected of the curcuit (function steering). On this prototype, the motor 2 could turn in only 1 direction. Prototype 2 : By default, the function activated by motor 2 was the self valve (as the prototype 1). If the motor 2 was turning, it disabled the function "self valve" to activate the steering. On this prototype, the motor 2 could turn in the 2 directions. These prototypes didn't work because of a too much big scale (it weighted around 4kg). But in a more little scale, there was not enough space. :P

[MOC] Full RC Compact Excavator
This MOC was built after 2 other attempts, 2 years ago and these didn't work. (I can explain a little the reasons if someone is interested) The design was difficult to do because of the round shapes. But I think the result is so good. You tell me ! The functions are : Left track Right track Blade Rotation of the turret 1st section of the arm 2nd section of the arm Moving the bucket Rotation of the arm (right/left) Opening/closing the clamp (pneumatic) All the functions are powered by M motors, except the rotation of the turret. But there are 9 functions, and it is possible to control just 8 functions with the IR system. How it's possible ? It's quite simple ! A gearbox allows to choose between "rotation of the arm" or "opening/closing the clamp". The chassis is very compact. It has 4 motors and 1 IR ! The mechanism of the rotation of the turret is not visible (the turret is too compact ! ^^) The rotation is quite fast (not too slow). Here you can see the motor actioning the 1st section of the arm. The motors of the 2nd section of the arm and the bucket are placed inside the arm. The last motor is placed in the middle of the chassis. It actuates the gearbox and you can choose the function to activate. With the clamp, there are a bucket and forks.

[MOC] Exotik Supercar
Thanks ! :) It is possible that you have ever seen it on TechLUG : http://www.techlug.fr/Forum/topic10622.html No, sorry, because I have never done building instructions (just LDD modelisations, but it make bad building instructions). And no for building instructions with pictures, I will not disassemble my car.

[MOC] Exotik Supercar
The name of this supercar was chose for its exotic style. The front has a particular style : there is not calander. On all the car, there are aerodynamic details, like the air intake. The rear is square. It has headlights, exhausts and air intake. The interior is quite detailed, with the dashboard. The motor is placed in the centre of the car, because of the gearbox (Nathanaël Kuipers's system). The functions of this supercar are : Steering with return to the steering wheel Full independent suspension Flat 8 fake engine with 5+R gearbox Openable front and rear hood, doors The HOG is placed in front of the dashboard. The steering wheel turns with the wheels. The suspension is quite simple, but the rear was difficult to do because of the gearbox. I have put 2 shock absorbers on both side. The gearbox is very similar with the Predator's gearbox. The idea is the same, and it is almost identical because there is not an endless of possibilities to do this type of gearbox. Here, the rear hood opening : The front hood opening is quite simple, but nice. And the most complicated function of this supercar : the doors opening. I have worked 20 hours on this function and made around 10 versions ! (~100 hours for the total)
