Anyone know if the V2 of the La Ferrari is available yet?

@n2kar_jw That's quite the lofty goal to build this in Lego! I started going down the same path but after adding things up it was way out of my budget (~$1300 USD). I ended up with the CADA model. I'm 75% satisfied. Not in love with the panel quality (matte finish, slightly off color, and flimsy) but overall a great value considering the price. Let me know if I can help in any way as I have the paper instructions and have applied all the "v2" mods successfully.

I'm going to focus on completing the build to see if there are any other glaring issues but I'm happy to give it a go after that!

Bingo!!! The second I removed these parts (labeled R5 and L6) @T Lego's fix worked like a charm. I guess now the question is to either replace these with TLG parts or try to come up with a separate fix using the CADA parts that addresses the original need of the rear hatch not closing fully... It seem like either way this is something I can address after the build is complete. I'm tempted to move on for now. Let me know if anyone else solves this in a creative way. Thanks!

Am I the only one getting my butt kicked by this step? Even with the original designers input (above) my rear spoiler is bound up. Especially when I add the "side modules" to the rear bumper. I also can't get the spoiler to sit low enough when I add these parts. I've rebuilt this about 3 times thinking it was an issue on my end. I've scoured the internet for all the videos and pictures and can't find anything wrong with how I've built things... Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I was just about to ask the same question. Aside from this part (which I imagine can be appropriately substituted) are there any other elements that's aren't a direct 1:1 from TLG?

Pricing the pieces out for this set based upon the parts list that was posted earlier... Had to make a few minor substitutions but I think I got it. To my surprise, if ordering the parts separately after shipping it's over $1200 (not including wheels) :-( It appears there are a few rare parts that are the primary cost drivers: x10 Technic, Liftarm Thin 1 x 6 in RED (~$15 each) x4 Technic, Axle and Pin Connector Toggle Joint Smooth in RED (~$20 each) x2 Technic, Pin Connector Perpendicular 2 x 2 Bent in Dark Blue Grey (~$10 each) x5 Technic, Liftarm Thick 1 x 2 - Axle Hole in RED (~$20 each) x6 Technic, Pin 1/2 without Friction Ridges in RED (~$6 each) (I'm guessing without friction ridges would be acceptable?) Maybe the original designer can chime in to give a feel if there are more economical substitutions for the above parts based upon where they are located in the build? Really want this but can't justify it at this cost. Also willing to purchase the Daytona but after my initial analysis it only shares about 31% of the parts so it's almost a wash. And then I'd need to find rims/tires... I might have to stick with the CADA one :-(

I wanted to share my modified 42145 H175 Airbus Helicopter. I was fortunate enough to pick this up on the release day back in August and build it per the instructions first. First off, fantastic build. I've been a collector of Technic helicopter sets since my youth and this one by far takes the cake. However, as a pilot, there were a few elements that bothered me. It started with the bulky rotorhead and the significant height it protruded above the helicopter. After that I had a desire to reduce the functional slop in all the linkages and structure (namely the tail assembly and rotor shaft). At that point I was essentially starting from scratch and made an effort to more resemble the full scale aircraft. Below is a high-level list of some of the modifications I made. I hope you all enjoy! Lower profile rotor head Reduced height main shaft Reduced the height of the entire helicopter by 1 stud (this required significant modifications throughout) Removed horizontal tail supports and cleaned up tail area Added additional friction pins to the tail assembly to improve rigidity Added additional support to the base of the main shaft to greatly reduce lateral slop in rotor head Implemented a variation of @efferman's cyclic and collective modifications to improve controllability (this required ground-up redesign of the internals to include the landing gear retract mechanism) Reduced profile winch mechanism for a more scale-like appearance Redesigned nose section to make it more streamline and scale-like Replaced the black pitot tubes with gray (no such thing as a colored pitot tube in the aviation world) Also the black ones would occasionally interfere with cyclic actions Major overhaul of the upper section of the helicopter (while maintaining the aft removable cowling over the engine assembly) to make it more scale-like Removed camera sensor and search light (just because I like the streamlined look without) Lots of color matching to improve cosmetics https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjAbgMq

Curious to get your feedback on your cyclic mod. Does it eliminate a lot of play? Or was it just to get more room up top? Debating whether I tackle that or not...

Not sure this is allowed or not but I just found this set for $169.99 at Costco (84043). I indulged myself on a few more :-) They appeared to have several other sets from the recent August 1st wave and they were all priced ~20% below what the Lego website shows. I'm guessing Costco just ordered these in bulk long ago prior to all the price hikes and just missed the memo. Works for me!

Nicely done! I'm having a hard time tracking all your mods. Do you mind listing them out? It appears that you made some improvements to the cyclic linkages?

I went to double up on the turntable that's supporting the main shaft to remove a lot of the slop but I realized that you can't pass a liftarm through the turntable. Super lame. LEGO needs to update their design. There's no reason to not support this functionality.

On closer inspection this may be very difficult as the current 6L link connections are 180 degrees from each other which the 6571 doesn't allow. Trying to think through how I would modify the rotor head to accomodate this but coming up short. I'll have to wait until I get it in hand next week to see what I can do. Do you have any 6571's in your possession? I'd have to BL them and not sure I want to until I have strong confidence that they will work as it'll likely be a $30 expense.

Very interesting! Didn't know that part existed. Wonder if you'll have enough clearance for those extra "ball joints" x5. Please keep us posted!

Anyone had any luck coming up with ideas on how to reduce the height? I guess one of the biggest issues is that as far as I'm aware Lego doesn't make those ball links any shorter than 6... I know this is heresy but I did do some digging and found that someone posted a model of one on thingiverse that you could print... https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1236932 It seems that another option might be to reduce the mechanical complexity of the cyclic/collective mechanisms. Perhaps even removing one or both of the functions...

I'd be very interested in lowering the overall height of the helicopter to make it more scale. That's #1 on my list.

Hey guys, just wanted to share my first attempt at creating a car. Love the C8 Corvette and when the F8 Ferrari set came out I instantly knew I had to make one. The original intent was to primarily use parts from that set but as it always turns out to improve the scale in the end there only ended up being about 20% parts in common. Weeks and weeks of iterations to get as close as possible but feel that I finally made it. It was a fun adventure. Let me know your thoughts.
