  1. Simply fantastic! I'm loving everything about this creation, especially the trees. Outstanding work, thanks for sharing.

Superb! You've certainly raised the bar with this impressive building.
  3. Just the armor. Since the only way to get one was from a $100.00 set that contained just 1, I felt it was a bargain. I purchased a bunch of Knight's Showdown (7150) for the minifigs. I thought this set was a good value also, kind of like a mini battle pack.
  4. The torso and leg printing is exactly the same as the other "Knights" from 2010. However I just noticed that the armor is new! Note the single, centered dragon vs. the old style. I can't believe I missed that.
  5. Great point about the armor. I got lucky and found 12 on bricklink for $1.00 each. I bought all they had. Sure makes for a formidable looking gang

Great review! Every time I see this set it reminds me of the game wheel on the long running U.S. TV game show The Price is Right. I find this ironic, as I also think this set is way over priced. Thanks again for your review.
  7. Last week TRU.com had all but the Mill Village Raid in stock for delivery, buy 1 get 1 50% off. I managed to pick up 2 Blacksmith Attacks (6918), Escape from Dragon's Prison (7187), and Carriage Ambush (7188) before they sold out (within minutes of placing my order). I thought I'd share some pictures and thoughts since they aren't due in stores till June? Blacksmith Attack: By far my favorite of the 3 sets I just received. Inexpensive and lots of new, rare or just plain good parts. Absolutely a great value. I like it so well that I plan to pick up an additional 2 or 3 sets. I love the new wands: Escape from Dragon's Prison (7187): The best thing I can say about this set is the mounted Dragon Knight's horse barding and large shield. Otherwise, the set is just so-so. I may be a little biased since I own at least 1 of each of the 2010 Kingdoms sets, and apart from the mounted knight it's too much like 7947 Prison Tower rescue. I feel its a little overpriced, but I got it for 10.00 bucks so I can't complain. *update* I've had a change of heart, especially after realizing the knight's armor is a new printing, and now believe this set is a good value for any Kingdoms/Castle fan. The directions were also severely flawed. Note the skip from step 20 to step 37 above, and from step 44 back to 37 in the image below below. The build is so easy, the missing steps (21-36) were easy enough to figure out. I hope They fix this before the official release. (The MOC making a cameo in this photo is new and just posted in the Pirate forum if your interested.) Lastly the King's Carriage Ambush (7188): Overall I like this set, even though I think its way over priced. The new horses are great, as are the carriage wheels. Lots of dark brown parts, which I like and need. I'm really looking forward to the Mill Village Raid. I hope TRU gets these back in stock soon! I hope this information is helpful! Maybe I'll find the time to post a proper review soon. Cheers, Inkog

I was inspired to create this MOC after receiving the 4194 Whitecap Bay this weekend. I'm a castle guy myself, but thought I'd share my first foray into a pirate theme. As you see i leaned heavily on the PotC style. I hope you enjoy it, it was great fun building it. More photos on my Flicker page.
  9. indeed it looks like TRU has them back in stock, buy 1 get one 50% off still! Mine should be here today!
  10. They shipped yesterday, for delivery tomorrow. I'll try to post my first review once they get here.
  11. Still no shipping confirmation. I did notice that they are out of stock now.
  12. They are available for Buy 1 get 1 half off too. I just ordered the Carriage, Dragon's Prison and two Blacksmiths.

As they say, "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery". You and your son did a fantastic job and should be very proud of your creation. I particularly like your son’s very creative renditions of the Market Village. I’m envious of your son’s access to digital instructions and sites like EB, I wish they were available to me when I was his age. The only thing I don’t like about this MOC is that the pictures are so good! Your photos certainly put mine to shame. I really need to get some better photos of my MOC before my cat destroys it more than it already has.

Hello all, After lurking around here for a while I figured I should post a contribution and introduce myself. I'm just getting back into the Lego hobby after a long dark age, but I've been back at it hard lately . I've always been a fan of model trains, and as soon as I saw the beautiful Emerald Night I new I'd be starting a train layout. So far I picked up the EN, Cargo Train, and the Maersk is on it's way. I recently found a NIB 10183 Hobby Train Set at BrickWorld Indy for $90 USD, and I can't say enough good things about it. The main model of the Hobby train was great and fun to build, but with my 3rd engine on the way, I decided to tear it down and build some proper cars with the set. I was able to build almost 4 complete cars from this set with only minor modifications and parts from my collection. I regret not buying the 2nd set that was available for $90, as I later learned that they are going for twice that on Bricklink & eBay. I've already outgrown my limited amount of track, and finding the options for acquiring more very limited and very pricey. I wish Lego would add track to PAB or start selling it without flexi. Of course, the obligatory pictures: (a few more on my flicker page) My take on 10017 Hopper Wagon These next 4 cars were ~95% built from (1) 10183 Hobby Train Set, based mostly from the alternate instructions found here. (As far as I know, they are no longer available from Lego.) This is probably my favorite Until next time, Inkog

Hello everyone. I found this interesting MOW car while out driving yesterday. I was hoping some of you train fanatics may be able to share some information on her. I assume its a snow plow of some sort, and thought it might make for interesting MOC for my layout. I found her near Frankfort, Kentucky on a RJ Corman line that runs from Louisville to Lexington. More pics on my Flicker page if your interested. Thanks!
