Lego Ideas SpaceX BFR project
Valerie Roche, one of the creators of the awesome Lego Ideas Saturn V appears to have a new project submitted. I found this by accident today and wanted to make sure fans of Lego space projects got support it; From the Ideas description: This collaborative project was created by “Saturn V Lego set” co-designer Valerie Roche (Whatsuptoday) and her “SpaceX – The Ultimate Collection” Co-Designer Matthew Nolan, along with fellow Lego fan designer Mark Nolan. It looks fantastic! Check it out! https://ideas.lego.com/projects/5199f8dc-34ad-492a-91e2-0008c8e37f81 Check it out!!!

[LDD] Lt Wheel Bearing w/3 Snaps
Agreed. I've been using a LDD for a while and really find it very easy to use to the point I have also developed the "muscle memory" to automatically know where parts are located and create something quickly and easily. I've tried Stud.io but so far I still feel really awkward using it (old dogs, new tricks kind of thing). I have used stud.io to import some LDD projects to either use a new part or upload a project to Bricklink for parts purchases. However stud.io appears to be missing a some older parts and a lot of the minifigure decorations (such as heads). While I'll still try to use stud.io I'm optimistically holding out hope that new parts will be issued for LDD eventually.

Way to brace halves for SNOT building
I agree, the 1x5 plate works best but I've got some shapes where I end up using 2x2 round plates backed by a 2x2 square to get it to fit better in a smaller space/different geometry. The only problem with this is that the axle pieces do no quite seat against the plates so the angles could be a little deformed with handling. I have found that once I everything is attached this is not much of an issue.

Cyber Monday Stuff on Space.com 2017
I'm not affiliated with space.com but they have an article title "Lego for Space Fans: Best Cyber Monday Deals 2017"... It centers around Amazon so there may be better deals elsewhere. As always, Caveat emptor. Here is the link; https://www.space.com/38810-best-lego-deals.html.

Lego IDEAS 2017 - Women of Nasa
I for one am bummed that the Katherine Johnson minifigure was omitted. Maybe they'll include a future WON minifigure set that would include Ms. Johnson and Peggy Whitson (Peggy ROCKS!)... Or even a "Pioneers of Space" that would include international figures as well.

Thanks Aanchir! The big ISS was the one I was looking for! Maybe it's time to get out the fishing line and hang it from the ceiling!

21309 NASA Apollo Saturn V (LEGO Ideas)
I’ve had the Saturn V page on shop.lego.com bookmarked. I checked it at least once a week since July until I saw one available. I ordered mine Oct 4th and received it Oct 9th. I was going to order another (yes, it is THAT good!!!) but they are out of stock again. I put my review here of this set.

REVIEW: 21309 NASA Apollo Saturn V
I just finished building this set with my son. I have to say that of the 50+ Lego sets we have built this was by far my favorite. The build and stability of the model are wonderful and while there could have been a couple pictures that clarified part placement the instructions were the usual high quality. The building techniques used in each stage were very interesting. I know I'll be using a lot of them in future MOCs. I just have to get the "Lego Math" down for each part! I also thought the price per part ratio was pretty good; No stickers, lots of printed pieces all for @$120usd at Lego.com. Really good value! I am thinking of getting another if Lego will ever keep them in stock! While I purchased this set for myself (I’m 56), I did not think my son (9) would not have much interest. However I was very pleasantly surprised that he loved it. He played with it all night with only a few emergency repairs required; a testament to the build quality. He also discovered the “Kerbal Space Program” video game so that reinforced is interest even more… I was pleased to see that Lego Ideas has the Launch Umbilical Tower under review as well as the NASA Space Shuttle (Saturn V Scale). I’m hoping Lego Ideas group will do models of the following space programs in 1:110 scale: ISS (isn’t there an exclusive ISS set somewhere?) Soyuz Sputnik/R7 Rocket (first artificial Earth satellite) Vostok 1 (first man in space/first orbit) Mercury Gemini Skylab Mir And the new latest SpaceX, Blue Origien, Virgin Galactic ships… I guess I’ll have to supporting more Lego Ideas projects and maybe even submit them myself!
