MOC: BR80-039
I really love this little BR80 engine of yours, its such a nice little locomotive. The drive rods look really nice and the right amount of detail for the loc. Really nice locomotive overall that will look good at any railroad yard.

10233 Horizon Express
In my opinion, it is a beautiful rendition of the recognizable TGV train in the minifig illusion scale. It is instantly recognizable.

MOC: French Station
This is stunningly beautiful. I love all the nice little details you put in this big build. Also the multi-SNOT walls to create the dark tan framing is absolutely beautiful. Kind regards, Teddy

MOC: Dutch Tjalk
That is a really beautiful boat! I love it. As for the mast, my two cents would be to stack smooth tires on a pin for transition, instead of the cone brick, such as: Kind regards, Teddy

LDD MOC: German Shunting Locomotive
Dear Udo, thank you for your post. You can send me a PM (personal message) if you have a question. If I have time I will surely respond. At the moment I am a bit busy as my Ph.D. defense is in two weeks. After that I will go on a short Holiday. Kind regards, Teddy Dear 3D LEGO, thank you for your reply. It took me some time to come up with this method. I was trying to reduce the gap between the tender and locomotive as much as possible. By arranging the pivots in this way I could reduce it to 1 stud. I had an alternative method to reduce the gap further, but that experienced too much friction when cornering. Kind regards, Teddy

LDD MOC: German Shunting Locomotive
Dear ust60, thank you for liking my BR01-1075 design. The answer is the pivot point of the front bogie of the coal car: Link to slide 14. Link to slide 15. Link to slide 16. The trick is that the front-bogie-of-the-coal-car is not connected to the coal-car itself directly. It can move completely freely under the coal-car. The coal-car rests only on the tiles that are on top of the front-bogie-of-the-coal-car. The front pivot point of the coal-car is underneath the driver-cabin of the locomotive. This is close to the back-bogie-of-the-locomotive and slightly further than halfway of the beam that connects the front-bogie-of-the-coal-car to the six-driving-wheels-of-the-locomotive. The back-bogie-of-the-coal-car is connected directly to the back of the coal-car: Link to slide 13. By arranging the pivot points this way, the spacing between coal car and locomotive can be reduced to just 1 stud. Hope this helps. Kind regards, Teddy Changed 3D LEGO his attachment:

MOC: BR84-009
Hi LEGO Train 12 Volts, this is one beautiful locomotive! love the fact you used the re-gearing method to get a more natural movement in the locomotive drive train (like the slipping of wheels at the start ) while maintaining speed and pulling power. Now I'm just going to enjoy the pictures and hope for an action movie to pop up on youtube. Kind regards, Teddy

Friends "Controversy"
Personally, I like the line a lot better than the current City sets which really lack in the interior and detail department. Belville was girly, pink, purple, and specifically for girls as well. This concept is not new at all to Lego. Actually, it is almost 20 years old now considering Paradiso, so I do not understand what the pink fuss is about. I like this new and improved "Belville" line better than the old Belville, because I think it is a lot easier to integrate these sets with the regular sets. Also because these figs fit better to the minifigs than the bellville figs did, keeping dimensions more or less comparable to regular city sets. I can fully understand the need for another minifig to make a differentiation with classic Lego and get non Lego enthusiasts interested. Although, I will probably toss them in a bin together with the skeletons trolls dwarfs dragons and all the other figs I did not like the last few years. Kind regards, Teddy

Smit Bison Tug

MOC: BR94-1292
Hi LEGO Train 12 Volts, that is a really cool model! The driving rods are really interesting. I think it is really cool you added the additional driving rod. Did you clip a pin to attach them? Does the additional gearing add friction, or is it negligible? Although, personally I have not soldered in a Lego model yet, I like the use of the LED lights a lot. The movie is great as well as it shows how it takes the switch points. All in all a great model. Kind regards, Teddy

MOC: BR01-1075
Dear all, last week I had some time to tweak my engine design. I added an engine under the tender and updated the gearing in the boiler such that the big wheels and the small wheels cover the same distance per hour. The result is smoother operation and increased speed: The engine under the tender:

Maccusswell Castle
Hi BlueandWhite! Finally we get to see your MOC project! I have been waiting for this for over two years! I was hoping all summer of 2009 for something to pop up. Your Brickmoor castle has been a huge inspiration to me in the past and I thoroughly enjoyed going trough the photos of this beauty. The shape is really unique and I love all the interior action. The interior detailing is really great. Thanks for sharing! Kind regards, Teddy

Presenting my current WIP: HMS Victory
Dear all, thank you for your interest in the project! The project is still very much alive. In fact I am sitting next to the behemoth right now. The only problem I have is finding sufficient time to spend on it. Since the beast has become so complicated I need at least a day or two to go through my drawings to see what my ideas were and what I was building. So to really get started again I probably need a Holiday of at least a week. Other priorities have pulled me away from this project so far for a long time: I am wrapping up my PhD thesis and have started a new job. This absorbs most if not all of my time right now and has done so for quite a while now, and is also what is keeping me away from EB and the hobby in general. Basically I worked on my thesis in the evenings and weekends and on my day-job during the day. When things finally cool down a bit I will start at the project again for sure. In the mean while I am steadily collecting bricks. Kind regards, Teddy

MOD: BR01-1075
Dear LEGO Train 12 Volts, this is a really cool replica and I feel really honored you build one. It is really strange and cool at the same time to see a replica of my design. I also think it is really cool you tweaked the design by the design choice differences you made. There are some particular choices I made to make it look like the original BR01-1075. That said, within the BR01-10xx range there was quite some variety. Toastie, you are really nice to have assisted LT12V. I think this is really awesome and I like the shots with the BR23! Kind regards, Teddy

LEGO Exclusive 10221 - Super Star Destroyer
off topic alert! Yes that is true. A friend in the stares is the best option. Personally, I was lucky enough to live in the states for a couple of months last year and visited friends in the states a couple of times in the previous years, so I have bought a fair amount of my Lego in the states. Though, I must admit, once I was used to Dollars Lego did seem to be expensive again. Now, back in Euro land, I wish I had bought more, a lot more.

LEGO Exclusive 10221 - Super Star Destroyer
Dear all, personally, I'm still undecided on buying or not. To get to grips with the shaping I made a comparison of the official Lego SSD profile with SSD profile drawings. One of my favorite SSD designs is Lasse_D his design: Lasse_D instruction website That MOC has a very nice profile compared to the "real" SSD. Kind regards, Teddy Official set and drawings:
