HAMM-Compactor
TechyMind replied to bb15080's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThank you :) Unfortunately, I don't plan to make instructions for this one because I'm not fully satisfied with it (80% satisfaction ), some points could be better such as steering reactivity. Anyway, here you will find the S3D file I did for the roller. It's a good starting :) https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B4-TIQ4o53s5NVNNRjZuaUp4ZE0 I'm loofing forward to build another HAMM product : DV90 VO tandem roller It will be quite a challenge and far more complicated than the one I did.

HAMM-Compactor
TechyMind replied to bb15080's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThanks, I try to improve my level each tme I do a new one. It's better when I've got time to do it

HAMM-Compactor
TechyMind replied to bb15080's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingWell, a very old one, so I'm the first one to integrated in a roller :) Here is the video :

HAMM-Compactor
TechyMind replied to bb15080's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingHi! I see my compactor didn't escape Brickshelf hunters I'm pleased to see you like it so thank you a lot. Thanks to GuilliuG too who told me to come here. As you can see, the main point on this MOC was to implement vibration like real compactor. GuilliuG explained the vibration generator is made of old 9V motor and an excentric. In fact, 2 old motor are used to turn the excentric at full speed ; here is a picture : It's symetrical so those parts are encapsulated in the roller. The technic I used to build the roller has evolved from the first one in the picture posted by DLuder. I inserted under chain link a ring of pneumatic hose so the chain is well placed, does not move anymore and is quite round. My steering is also pendular thanks to HAMM technology of 3-point swivel joint. Here you can see how it works : http://www.hamm.eu/en/technologien/3k-knickgelenk/index.html I decided to use pneumatic actuator because it was easiest to implement due to perfect length and also because I had to mount them on ball joint. I used Sardo Autovalve I modified a little : I also added 2 real beacons and implemented an easy plug & play BB (I hate to ruin my finger to extract long pin/bush ). As you can see, I got inspiration from HAMM compactors, orange and dark bluish gray and black fit well together. This MOC is not perfect and some points could be improved but I consider it finished and I think it's not bad for my first compactor. Maybe I'll build another one later Feel free to ask eveything you got in mind. Video is uploading right now so I'll post it when it will be done. Thank you

9 Cylinder Radial Engine
TechyMind replied to gor Ipsa's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingHmm, maybe I'll do building instructions somedays but I have to say it's quite difficult to build it You don't see it on this picture but also developped variable pitch on this model... I think I'll post this MOC later.

9 Cylinder Radial Engine
TechyMind replied to gor Ipsa's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI don't think your solution is ok DLuders because there is a cross axle hole and in order to build a radial engin, we need a simple hole. I searched a solution to build a 7 cylinder radial and double it for a R2800 radial engine but I did not find anything. Anyway, I did a double 6 cylinders :D

Old pieces you want to see and use again
TechyMind replied to Plastic Nurak's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThe 2908 "Technic Helicopter Rotor Holder" with the ball and the other part are not good enough to build a realistic cyclic/collective rotor because its function on the older helicopter is not correct. Well, we can use it somehow but we have to built a really big helicopter if we want to respect scale and proportion.

Harvester Idea Book 8888.
TechyMind replied to xikin's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingAs mahjqa said, the yellow plates is shaken. In reality, it's not shaken this way and it's like a sieve rack formed. The plate does not go down rear but up rear, its function is to separate grain (and collect it) from cereal straw. Straw is thrown out of the harvester thanks to the sieve (shaking) and a strong wind tunnel. I hope you will understand (technical terms in French are sometimes quite difficult to translate ;) )

TechyMind incoming
Hello to the largest Lego community. I'm 31 years old, from France and I'm a fan of Lego technic since my parents offered me the Universal Set 8050. I'm a computer man and working on robotic and autonomous systems. I started to play again and build MOC on august of the last year. (The black period was long enough ) I hope my MOC will interest most of people and even entertain them. See you later. TechyMind

Techymind's Lego Technic Road Grader
TechyMind replied to DLuders's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingHello, Well, I'm quite surprised to see my Model here Thank you. I don't understand why the pictures are so BIG. I resized them.... Hmm I will upload new picture with decent size Maybe should I add come comment for this review : It has basically 9 functions : Steering with HOG on top of the cab : front wheel and central articulation are syncronized Front steering (HOG / 20t / 12t / 8t) Central articulation steering (HOG / 8t / 40t) [*]Front pendular steering [*]Rear independant left and right pendular suspension [*]Fake L4 engine powered via pendular suspension and a central differential [*]Main blade lowering/raising (worm / 8t) [*]Main blade left/right sliding (worm / 8t) [*]Main blade rotated (worm / turntable) [*]Rear ripper lowering/raising (friction) This Road grader has exactly 600 parts (it was the maximum accepted in this challenge) I will probably update the model with new and updated functions and with some design parts I could not put because of part limitation. I'm glad I post for the first time here
