  1. Hey guys, Its been over 6 years since my last post but just wanted to drop by and say hello! I don't expect anyone to remember me but I created the "official" Mitgardia map (so awesome to see that its still in use to this day!) and participated in some early rounds of Historica MOCing. Sadly I got a job in a city and had no room for my Lego collection (and now I've been travelling the world for 2 years so no closer to rectifying that) but I hope to dust it off one day soon and share some builds with you guys. Despite that I drop by every few months and check out the new builds, some of you have come a long way since 2012 so keep it up guys! Happy building and Long Live Mitgardia! Viceroy
  2. I like how you've created a distinct theme for your werewolfs. Nice entry! I'm also enjoying the ever expanding mosaic of werewolf MOCs, it a good insight into life in Nocturnus!
  3. This is lovely. Your Great Elk MOCs are doing great at potraying life in the northern barbarian lands. I hope theres many more to come!

Excellent MOC! As SOT says, its a great model for life in a frontier mitgardian village.
  5. Happy new year to everyone! Its been a busy time for me (new job, moving to the big city etc) but I have the internet set up at last. Noticed theres been a few inquiries as to building locations, I shall be updating the map at the end of the month to reflect the addition of a few more settlements, please PM me if you have any queries. Also check out my little thread where I've tried to compile as much info as I can about Mitgardia. @Gondabuggan I think it would be best if Omurtag remained property of the Jarl/a free-build city (along with Valholl and the Royal Port of Erikson). Just because its the largest dwarf city in the land and an economic powerhouse of Mitgardia - perhaps too much for one person to tackle alone and provides a great resource/focal point for all memebers wishing to have a go at Dwarven Mocs. Feel free to build there though! I have been working on a little legend of my own actually, the tale of Magnus Mitgard, a legendary warrior who slew the King of the Giants and lead the first norse settlers into Mitgardia. I have a MOC built but I have to move it from my parents house to my new place without it falling apart Congratulations to everyone who contributed in the first round and helped the guild do so well. And also to those that have built some great MOCs since then. @SOT Love the latest Rise of the Magi installment, the tale is really starting to come along nicely. EDIT: Also a big welcome to more new memebers, glad to have you in Mitgardia, pull up a chair by the fire, have some mead, some wild boar perhaps? Mitgardia can be a challenging land to build in but thats what makes us and our MOCs strong!
  6. "Dear Rasputin, our time in Kaliphlin has been most delightful thanks to your hospitality. The feast was delicious, entertaint fantastic, hostesses enchanting ... also I terribly enjoyed that strange feathered beast that was served basted in honey and dates ... os-ter-ich you say? We have taken several dozen back with us, it appears the Valhollian elite may have a new delicacy for their dining tables. I was glad we were able to conclude our business regarding your Crystal Glass. All vessels in our fleet shall have their navigation equipment refitted and we expect there to be serious interest from the craftsmen of Omurtag and Pikesteel Mt. Please expect orders to follow soon. I wish you well for the new year and I am looking forward to your visit in Nordheim. 'Tis but a mere hamlet compared to your great Petrea but I trust your visit will be nonetheless entertaining and productive - we Mitgardians know how to have a good time! To good health and good fortune!" - Hvar Icewind

Hold on mate. You've got a bit ahead of yourself here. ZCerebus is saying, go ahead and build in Albion if you want to, just dont ask for an official place in the inner sanctum or expect your embassy to be officially recognised unless its something special. Perhaps we should ease up on this micro management and let people build first and then discuss placement later.
  8. Wow lots of new members, welcome Sir Whisper (nice to see you sporting the latest Valhollian headwear, very fasionable), Jakon, Lerak and Scarst @Fat Tony : Great forge dude! You've got a really nice Pikesteel Mt. theme going on with your architectural style. Great playability too, if lego ever brought back dwarves this would make a nice official set! Merry Christmas everyone and good luck with round 2. Get creative, I hope to see some lovely MOCs built from all that new lego you recieved today!

Ok I had a read, I can see where ZCerebus is coming from, he's got his city carefully planned out and doesnt want to see it carved up by other guilds as the ambiance/appearance would be affected greatly. There's only a limited supply of plots and plenty more rounds to go after all. My reasoning before was simply that embassys are usually located in Capital cities and it seemed a bit unfair for one guild to limit the range of building opportunities for the other 3. But now I am not sure what to think haha. Perhaps if you want to build in Albion or any city you should just do it, its up to the guild/land owner to include them in their official maps or not (obviously a bit of forward negotiation does help). No sweat. If I was to draw up a map for Valholl eventually, I wouldnt include every embassy, I would probably just pick the best one from each guild. Or maybe I'm the only one who has any issue with this lol.

That made me smile Hexx. Grand Warlock Gza'ar's tyranical yet somewhat campy reign of terror is hillarious to see, I hope theres more to come. Top marks for creativity.

Hi. I have compiled as much information about Mitgardian cities as I could find in my Guide to Mitgardia. Also Ecclesiastes city of Ondylion is in Mitgardia not Avelonia. Hope that helps mate. I dont want to sound argumentative but in the spirit of the competition surely all 4 capitals should be open for embassy building? (Although I'm not saying the Avelonians have to incorporate every proposed build into their city plan, that would be a nightmare) Maybe our Cedrican overlords can clarify? @Dr Rod. The only city in the South East is Hykerbia, run by a Mr TomCatRio, he's quite a creative builder so I'm sure a nocturnus embassy would compliment his city well. Valholl is also great place to build a MOC. Its quite a cosmopolitan place with markets to rival Petrea and traders from every stretch of Historica, but with an obvious Nordic feel to the place. You're more than welcome in my coastal trading town of Nordheim (Dawnstar/Morthal from Skyrim meets Lonelywood from Icewind Dale). I would quite like the chance to try a Nocturnus style build, I will investigate the possibility of building a Mitgardian trade post near your tower, perhaps in some ruins of a smaller, older tower. I wont claim exclusivity over the spot though.
  12. Agreed. The Star Wars theme has battle packs to compliment the Battle of Hoth. Logically the Battle of Helms Deep/Hornburg deserves the same. Hopefully TLG will follow this logic. (Riders of Rohan battlepack? I'll take 10.)

Thanks for the feedback everyone! @Haltiamieli: You're right, I would of done the waterfall in trans-clear pieces like Derfel does because it does look much better and can contrast with the snow much more effectively but as you say, its hard to come by those parts in such quantities (and its quite a high waterfall). Sadly theres no interior to my tower, my collection is not huge and the parts I would use are currently in use elsewhere. @ZCerebus, Dr Rod, Cij Daoke: Thanks for the positive remarks guys, you've produced some great entries this round as well!
  14. Can anyone comment on how finished those preliminary pics we've seen are? In my opinion some of the sets look a bit raw and plain. Can we expect much to change before the release? A bit disapointed with the minifigs as well, both in terms of quality (although some posters are claiming that many figs are just stand-ins?) and the army building potential - if you bought all the sets shown so far you'd only have one human soldier and no elves (I figured Helms deep would have at least 1 or two?). Contrast this with about 7 or so generic orcs and the Orc Forge set will likely increase this number further. There are only so many hero's you can use in a big battle! Sorry to be so negative, I am looking forward to this and will probably buy most sets, but to see my hopes of building up a Gondor and Rhohan army dashed so soon is saddening!
  15. Wishing everyone has a lovely holiday break. 'Tis the season to be MOCing...'
