SBrick General Discussion
t12ung replied to Nofer89's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingIn the past, I've seen sbrick being controlled by a PS game controller. At the time it was beta. I've not kept myself up to date with sbrick things but I'm sure you can find out more info with a Web search.

[REVIEW] 42069 - Extreme Adventure
That's for a great review Jim. Just looking at this from first marketing pictures, most would be on the fence about this one at first. Getting to know how much value is packed into this set from detailed reviews will no doubt lend to a greater appreciation for the design of this set and (bad for us) less money in our pockets (but that's not a bad thing considering it will be well spent!). I for one will be looking to pick up 1 or 2 sets... well done Milan Reindl for another excellent design! Whilst not too sure at first about tracks as opposed to wheels, I now think it was a good choice as it's different and so easily modded anyway to change to wheels if one should be inclined to do so.

[VIDEO REVIEW] 42069: Extreme Adventure
t12ung replied to Sariel's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThanks for another excellent review. Like most opinions here having watched it, it's not perfect but has good modding potential and decent value overall. On a side note, I always see you refer to the instructions coming in a foil bag. Is it just me or do I think that statement is wrong? "Foil" as I typically understand it is a thin sheet of pressed metal. "Foil" bags are more like those you'd find packets of potato crisps in. I think it would be better to call the ones used for Lego BI as plastic (or poly) bags.

[REVIEW] 42070 - 6x6 All Terrain Tow Truck
Thanks for a very informative review, Jim. Great photography as expected. Love how clear and sharp the photos are - one could be mistaken that they were computer renders! I think the set is a good "idea" but not well executed. Even if there are good discounts on this, I will probably pass on adding this to my collection... I've seen a few responses highlighting some typos, but I'll include in my list anyway just for completeness so you'll have them at hand to easily make the corrections you can already see a lot misplaced the XL Motor The engine powering 4 cylinder engine The axle still needs to be pushed not the strong suit of this but I can't help but think that the gap gonna be huge. And that the Mexicans are going to pay for it...oh wait now instead of one (on or to) the side this truck is using the M Motor that this set packs an interesting gearbox investigate where the problem Also, while not really a typo, but I feel it would read better changing "As with much Technic models" to "As with many Technic models"

[KEY TOPIC] LDD custom bricks
Today I was trying to build a model in LDD, and like most of you have found out already, there is no pull back motor part available in LDD. So I tried to search for some custom design of it, but I only found 2 variations and I wasn't quite happy with the design so I decided to make my own... I'm pretty happy with my own implementation and present it here, for you all to use if you like (if you have suggestions to make it better, please share): LXF file

[MOD] 42056 - Ultimately playable Porsche 911 GT3 RS
t12ung replied to Didumos69's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling@Didumos69 I like your use of inline brick images in your last post. How did you do it? I tried doing the same in a recent post and couldn't figure it out

I've inserted images from Flickr no problems but I don't do it via insert other media. I just paste the bbcode directly into the post. Although I can't see it while I'm writing the post, it will show up afterwards when the post is submitted. [url=https://flic.kr/p/N7mRnu][img=https://c3.staticflickr.com/9/8270/30264378626_9cc0dd3d29.jpg][/url] I've just tried using via "insert other media" > "image url" and if you see the image above, then it works just fine- 42056 - Porsche 911 GT3 RS - MODs and Improvements
t12ung replied to tripletschiee's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingActually, I had a closer look at the model in LDD again and tried to add this to stock build, besides what you see in the image above relating to this, you need to replace the brown cross axle with stop and grey bush with a 3M cross axle when connecting 3x3 90 deg lever to the ball cups (x2). Then there's an issue connecting the horizontal 11M beam because the existing red gear shift connector is blocking it. It connects a 4M cross axle with stop to an 8M cross axle. I think replacing the axles with 8M with stop and 4M should do as a workaround?- 42056 - Porsche 911 GT3 RS - MODs and Improvements
t12ung replied to tripletschiee's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI don't suppose anyone has tried this MOD on the stock model? Would be good to know how the suspension feels and whether it collides with the 7M Beams underneath.- [REVIEW] 42052 - Heavy Lift Helicopter
Thanks, looks like that's the only way... Well, I was planning to strip this down for parts to build a custom MOC anyway so I'll take it apart and check all the steps using the 9L beam- [REVIEW] 42052 - Heavy Lift Helicopter
I've just I've just finished building this set and I seem to have a White 9L beam left over besides the usual spare bits. Is there an easy way to find out where I might have missed out a step involving a particular piece? Sure would be handy to be able to open an LDD model and search where 9L beams are used to check finished model to see where I left one out or if this is an unusual spare?- [REVIEW] 42054 - Claas Xerion 5000 Trac VC
You've had a direct influence in me buying 3 sets this week now!- [REVIEW] 42054 - Claas Xerion 5000 Trac VC
Thanks Jim for a great review. I had not even thought about getting this set until I read this. (I fear I'll become addicted to buying everything that you review!) Decided that it's worthwhile to get, although I'm not a fan of tractors. Nonetheless, seems like a great set so I've been keeping a lookout for a nice deal before getting it. For anyone in UK, I've just spotted this retailing for 75.97 GBP (free to collect at ASDA store or reasonably cheap delivery costs). http://direct.asda.com/george/kids/lego-toys/lego-technic-claas-xerion-5000-trac-vc-42054-embargo-aug-1st/000723952,default,pd.html- Performance Issues (occasional slow response when saving a post)
How is general site performance? Reason I'm asking is because of the Search Function. 30 seconds is a long time to wait between searches... I might not get the keywords right first time, or a search may not turn up any results and I would want to do a new search with better terms (simple common usage). Just now, I saw there were about 100 active users on the forums. Is the system not really able to handle more frequent searches? I'd say 5 secs between searches would not be asking too much?- 42056 - Porsche 911 GT3 RS - MODs and Improvements
