MOC: Portal Sets
Unfortunately I don't think Portal is 'mainstream' enough to become a Lego theme, especially amongst Lego's target audience, but these are absolutely incredible creations and if Lego did ever release them I would be banging on the doors of a Lego store at launch date frantically waving large amounts of cash around!

Inside my Café Corner
I don't think you've received enough credit for the trouble you've gone to with that .gif, that is really inventive (both the .gif and your design!) and very helpful to others. Many thanks, Sir!

What's a Better Engine, Red or Yellow Cargo?
The 3677 is the only train set released in the last few years that I Haven't bought. Firstly I think £130 is too much for a train set that, to my mind, has less to it than the 7939 cargo train, in terms of the train itself, trackside features and the track. And relating to your specific question, I am not a big fan of the red engine in set 3677 - the proportions don't look right to me, it looks too long at the front. I know a few members on here have modded it to make it look slightly shorter. Can I ask those people if that modification can be made with the existing pieces?

Discontinuation Speculation
I have a total of 3 carriages. I think 4 is the perfect number, and I have another MISB Emerald Night which I forgot about over the last few months - now that it is discontinued I'm not sure whether I can bring myself to open it anymore!

New modular building? 10224 Town Hall
I was thinking the same. I just went through all the printed dishes in the Bricklink catalogue and couldn't see that one anywhere. If that is the case it would indeed be a first for the modular line!

New modular building? 10224 Town Hall
In isolation, it looks fantastic. I really like the clock and the colours mix together wonderfully well. However, I think it looks a bit silly next to the Pet Shop and the Grand Emporium - it's just so big! Not that that will deter me from buying it, mind!

New modular building? 10224 Town Hall
The pictures for the 2012 sets are all from catalogues distributed to retailers. The modular buildings are Lego exclusives and therefore wont appear in those catalogues. The last modular building, the pet shop, was kept under such close wrap that it was only seen by a few individuals before it launched.

LUGBULK 2012 is started
Would I be able to become a member of a LUG for my country (and pay associated membership fees etc) and participate in this year's LUGBULK program, or is there a convention that this offer is only open to longer serving LUG members who have participated in lots of events? Thanks

2012 City sets
Why does this forum feel the need to adopt such an overly draconian approach to spelling and grammar? This site, by its very name, probably implies that there are going to be a fairly large number of Europeans posting in the forums for whom English is not their primary language. Why don't we give them a break? Incidentally I thought the post in question was perfectly intelligible. If I wanted to be really picky I could say that Hinckley shouldn't have put an s at the end of appropriate! Anyway, back on topic, I'm not too keen on the idea of more Police and Fire sets, even if they are under a different sub-theme. I thought the rumours for 2012 indicated that the Hospital sub-theme was going to make a return?

What do people think is next?
I completely agree with the idea of selling them as service packs online. From reading this thread and others, it seems that TLG is reluctant to introduce additional coaches because: a) there is limited store space/limited number of products that can be introduced b) it may stop parents buying the large sets for their children c) it may stop AFOLs buying multiple complete sets Introducing extra coaches online as service packs addresses both a) and b). With point c) I prefer to look at it a different way. Whilst there might be some loss of profit from AFOLs only buying one complete set, the TLG would gain extra profit from AFOLs expanding trains who wouldn't do so otherwise, and TLG would also gain a slice of the eBay and Bricklink markets. This potential profit is difficult to quantify but I think it would more than offset money lost from AFOLs only having to buy one complete set.
