[MOC] Darth Maul's Scimitar (aka the Sith Infiltrator) Minifig scale with full interior
Thanks for this! If Lego made a similar UCS /minifig scale version of this ship, I'd sincerely hope that they'd do the full interior with front and rear connected via the corridor etc, although I doubt very much that it'll ever happen! I'm sure that they don't need to borrow my ideas, but if they did, it would be nice if they gave me a mention for it haha - unlike when they did that Xmas Wing Fighter (staff gift) a year after I posted mine and then denied using my idea hmmmmm!

I can confirm, the original models and paintings used in the films had solid black cockpit "windscreens" - some pics that I'm using for reference can be seen here https://modelermagic.com/shuttle-tydirium-studio-model/ ...so I'm going with black on my version too! The old 1970's Hasbro toy version of the Lambda class shuttle had see-through plastic windows, which has since caused a lot of confusion about that topic! :D I've recently posted a few progress pics of my Lambda cockpit on instagram if anyone wants to take a look - I'm evilkirklego over there. Thanks very much - those little details are what I enjoy building the most! With Lego, there are always some parts of the build that you just cannot reproduce accurately, but other parts where you can go "full nerd mode" and hope people will like it

"Shape of the nose" is my single main focus, as I've always loved the elegant style of the Lambda cockpit. There have been some amazing MOCs of this ship, but that damned cockpit has some awfully subtle angles making it a nightmare of a shape to recreate with Lego. Some compromises will have to be made somewhere, but I'll do my best!

//Takes a deep bow. Thank you very much! I don't pump out new builds very often, but I do enjoy taking my time to get the details as accurate as I can :)

Thanks very much - yeah I wondered about the seats, but they were on the plans so I had no choice! Actually there are 6 passenger seats on the plans, but due to Lego dudes all being wide-boys, I just squeezed in 5 :) That part you mentioned is this technic panel... https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=24116#T=S&C=86&O={"color":"86","ss":"TR","rpp":"200","iconly":0}

Yes thanks, I used one of those large turntables for the big wing on my previous Rogue Shadow MOC. I'll have to buy some of the gear racks and experiment... :) Thanks very much dude, I'm really honoured! Rogue Shadow - scrapped for parts for this ship lol! Still deciding what to make next before I wreck the Scimitar too... minifig scale versions of either the Lambda class shuttle, or that massive Pirate Corsair from the Mandalorian hmmmmmmm

Yep I mean Mark 1 or 2, the bigger ones! I'm just not sure about how to connect those huge wing sections to the main body, without them bending and flopping when moving up and down, as they're only connected by a relatively narrow "hinge" ...Once that problem is solved, the rest of it should be easy enough. I tend to take a looong time thinking about how to solve those kind of problems, before I even pick up any bricks, so IF I do build one, it won't be for a some time yet :) Thank you very much! Decorating the interiors/engines is always the most fun part for me :)

Thanks! Sadly the lift had to be a cosmetic 'repulsor lift'... I spent a couple of evenings trying different working lifts, but the smallest I could get them to be was a 4 x 5 floor area, which was still just too big! Well-spotted on the corridor thing - this was something I worried about early in the design, "How am I going to make that corridor high enough all the way to the front, without making the exterior too deep" ...until I noticed on the floor plans that the corridor was labelled as a "Maintenance CRAWLSPACE", which generally made things a lot easier for me Thank you - it's been thoroughly "play-tested" all around my house
