Tundra Monster Truck (with pics this time)
Sorry about the earlier post if you viewed I couldn't add pics for some reason. Anyway, here I present Tundra a 4x4 monster truck with front and rear steering. Power is from 4 XL motors driving a wheel each. I've been working on it on and off for months so be kind ha ha. The hardest parts have been to get hubs that dont rip themselves apart, and I had to go down the non-Lego route for universal joints as they fell apart at the slightest bit of torque. The tyres are also non-Lego so I do apologise to the purists. I hope to get a video up soon of this beast in action. Just need to find some where suitable to give her a good work out. Help!! 4x4 buggy driveshaft that dont pop out
I can't seem to make a strong enough drive shaft for my 4x4 buggies, particularly front set ups. The hub joint usually pops out using technic hubs and cv joint. Making my own hubs and using universal joints is better. Current model is powered by 2 x L motors and Buwizz. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

[WIP] Greyhound - 4WD RC Buggy with BuWizz 2 - Redesigned wheel hubs
scifunk replied to Didumos69's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI'm sure the two L pieces would offer the same rigidity. One the right way up and the other upside down. I saw something recently and Im sure once you set the buwizz to max power it doesnt need the app after that, and you can use Sbrick for total control.

[WIP] Greyhound - 4WD RC Buggy with BuWizz 2 - Redesigned wheel hubs
scifunk replied to Didumos69's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingFirst off this really is a sublime build, worthy of being a Lego release. Well done. Secondly, the grey 'I' beams on the rear trailing arms, could you not use two 3x3 'L' beams instead, mounted at 180 degrees to each other, then you could go all black? Thirdly, could you keep the buwizz units for the power and attach Sbricks for better control or does this introduce too much lag?

Lego vet returns
Hi, I ate, slept and breathed Lego as a kid, even gaining a Master Builder Gold Badge, and now at 44 my 6yo daughter has become very interested in it and having not touched a brick in 30 years I've had the enjoyment of Lego rekindled. With so many new parts and the internet for inspiration I have been truly blown away with people's inventiveness - keep up the great work.

RCBricks - control your LEGO using RC 2.4GHz system
scifunk replied to rcbricks's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingMy interest in having access to a 2.4ghz system is the reliable control and range options it gives. We're not all speed freaks although a little more speed would be very welcome.

George Staples' Lego Technic Suspension Tutorial
scifunk replied to DLuders's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingFantastic work - love the sideways independent version. I guess this is a combination of a couple of the above but how about floating axle and triangulated suspension as often seen on crawlers?
