  1. I agree, and have added a 2nd 82143 to my wishlist for this reason.... Ian...
  2. 8860 - Car Chassis - No set will ever be able to beat my childhood memories of being brought that set one cold (And I would like to think) snowy Scottish Christmas. 8448 - Super Street Sensation - A set that not only brought me out of my time in the wilderness away from Lego, but also introduced me to why studless Lego was the way forward. Also every time I rebuild it I get to choose which version I want to build! 42056 - Porsche 911 GT3 RS - Whilst it could be considered the weakest of the modern surge of 1:8th cars, I still think this is my favourite. Not just for the door that it opened for us all, but its overall build quality and style. It may not not have the bodywork style of the later cars, but when it is on display next to all the others it is always by far my favourite. 3804 - Robotics Invention System - Sue me ok! As the 8448 brought me back to Technic, 3804 brought me into Mindstorms (Enough that it was even part of my masters degree!!) It was always on my plans to return to Mindstorms at some point so the announcement to discontinue it a couple of years ago still feels like a stab to the heart 2 years later. But planning to return is not returning so maybe I must take part of the blame. Ian...
  3. On an interesting note I went to Lego to also arrange replacement parts out of mild principle, and whilst the flag aspect is correct as highlighted above they now list a 4l lightsaber in the set, and not the 3l shown in the instructions, online pictures, or even on Bricklink. Ian...
  4. That would seem to be the case unfortunately. Ah well Lego, your 100% part record with myself is no more, but at least I get to keep my building hat! Thank you both for your input, and to Bricklink I go! (Lets face it, it is a blatant excuse for me to go to buy more Lego! >< ) Ian...
  5. Hello fellow plastic lovers... For one of my first times in 40 years of building Lego, I am finding myself stumped an instruction step that I can't solve/understand what is intended. On step 380 of the 42125 Instructions, you have to install two white flags to a 3l black bar: The first issue I saw was that the bars in my set were 4l, but this was not a major issue. However I very quickly realised that the flags would not attach to the bar fully as they interfered with the thin liftarms: Looking at other reference material (RacingBricks build review for example) I can see that I am not alone with issues here (The statistics on that video show a lot of people looking at that particular step). However I have been unable to find any posts referencing this issue which makes me think am I the wrong one here, and do I need to hang up my building hat??? Appreciate your input! Ian...
  6. This is a real shame to hear, but I guess not overly surprising. Mindstorms brought me out of my Lego dark ages in the late 90's, and I still love my RCX sets partly for this nostalgia. I have always planned to get back into Mindstorms, but just kind of never got round to it for one reason or another. Goodbye fair Mindstorms, and thank you for bringing me back to Lego... Ian...
  7. Ahhh I thought you had used the wide Alex drawers which used to be available in Black Brown. Will have a look at them. Ian...
  8. Looks fantastic @Jim, well done! Annoyingly I chose black/brown as the colour of furniture in my study/Lego room, and getting decent drawers in this colour is a challenge. Unfortunately IKEA stopped selling the drawers @kbalage uses in black/brown recently which is a touch annoying! However I am now tempted to add a couple of PAX cabinets into my room next year with black doors and just deal with the white frames for the benefits of the additional drawers. Looking forward to some great Mindstorms builds from you with this room. :) Ian...
  9. I have a second 42127 winging its way to me at the moment! Ian...
  10. lol! After my recent Lego shopping I feel that I should do the same!! Ian...
  11. I know it's been hot in the UK recently... It is interesting to have two mould errors in a single set. Wonder if it was a single moulding issue or if there are bucket load of parts out there with this error. Ian...
  12. Love it. I am very tempted to buy a second set just for this one. Did someone say double VIP points week??? Must be destiny... Ian...
  13. Love this design, makes me want to make a tank! Ian...
  14. And just in time for the weekend.... Ian...
  15. Some nice and interesting camera shot in that video. Makes me look forward to getting my hands on it even more! But you have to love those axles just sitting there in the drawings. I do hope someone at Lego is holding their head in shame over that mistake. Ian...
  16. Good lord there are a lot of errors this time! All my Jedi building skills will be required *Cough* In typical Lego release day my order is still in the warehouse. Lets see how many days it sits there for on this order! If our warehouse worked like theirs we would not have much of a business! Ian...
  17. Whilst I don't know about other countries, I have seen releases at both CET, and local time to me (UK). Ian...
  18. Happy to say this is one for me, and I will probably go with the book as well if I can catch it. I am personally split regarding the gearbox. Yes a new design would be nice to see, but in real life gearboxes don't greatly change between manufacturers (Massive over simplifications of their designs I know, but Technic comes with certain design limitations). However I have seen other designs in MOC's I own too, so as I said conflicted on it. The 'mistakes' in the instructions are a shame to see, but hopefully they look like easy fixes now that they are known about. Now no-one stealing my order on the 1st right??? Ian...
  19. Absolutely gorgeous model, well done!! It is a shame about the instructions, but I understand your reasons. I will just have to raise my own MOC building skills! Ian...
  20. I do hope we don't see the sagging springs party again.... Ian...
