Shame on me I didn't comment on this. Every single creation, both Star Wars and non-SW, are just lovely. The Kamino Cloning Facility, the Desert Skiff, the Sarlacc Pit and last but not least; the Geonosian Machines Gauntlet, are probably my favorites. Wait, I almost forgot Dagobah. That's certainly one of your best too. Did I already mention your designs are great?
  2. You have to open a new thread for your creation, and post a link of your thread here, eventual with one picture of your work. Apart from that, the scene you made looks great.

What bothers me about this set is that they could have improved it way more, compared to the previous version. I don't say it's bad, as the changes they made are good, but it's just not enough, they had the change to improve it a lot, yet they didn't. True, the laser cannons are better and we now have the hexagonal backside, but that's it. Why not a new design for the nose? A better windscreen piece? And what abou the engines? Maybe I'm complaining too much, but I feel like this set could still use a lot of work. It's like TLG was thinking the previous X-wing was almost completely accurate, and they thought with some minor changes, they now have the perfect representation of an X-wing.
  4. A TIE-interceptor is indeed better than a LDD Yoda, not in the last place because a detailed and well designed figure would require illegal connections, at least in most of the cases.
  5. I don't know if this is allowed, but here you can find pretty cheap lego. Especially when it comes to Star Wars sets.

Great work! You really made an accurate representation of one of the most significant scenes of the Star Wars movies. Just one thing; I know it's all about the platforum Luke and Vader battle each other, but why not adding some more stuff at the adges of scene, to fill it up a little? But that's just what I think... Anyway, great job. You did well in adding an excellent MOC to the Community Build!
  7. Are you sure they didn't made the minifigures out of 24-karat gold? Unbelievable they can ask those prices for what is, after all, a toy...nothing but a bunch of plastic. And I thought as a Dutchman, I had a hard time finding affordable lego Star Wars sets.
  8. The Imperial Star Destroyer can be useful as a parts pack, especially for the ones needing wedge plates, such as me, who still wants to build an UCS Acclamator..
  9. Well, it isn't such big of a deal to eventually change the hands, but still...
  10. Thanks for the review. However, I doubt if this set is worth the money. The tree is plain, the speeder bike is nothing new, and isn't accurate at all, and the new faces for the Imperial troopers look awkward - and somehow remind me of faces in a comic book. The Endor troopers look good though, but as already mentioned, will need some modifications before fitting in with the Endor troopers we've seen earlier. At the other hand; it's not like folks have tons of the first version of the Endor troopers, right?
  11. Is it? I thought the official version was way larger. Well, shame on me, I guess...
  12. Lovely creation. Really, I love it. The Sarlacc looks great, the Skiff does too, and for as far as I can see, even the Sail Barge at the background is awesome. Not to mention you showed off different scenes accompanied by text balloons, which really gives your creation a finished look. Talking about the Sail Barge, do you have more pictures of it? I would really like to see some close-up shots of it.
  13. Are you going to make a picture with all of your creations included, Doc? It would be great to see them all together. Or, you could take images of your creations in the right angles as presented on the official box art, and let your pictures overlap with those, so you have an picture of the box, but instead of the micro vehicles and figures of TLG, you actually put yours in their place. And to complete it, you could change the text on the box, and change the numbers of pieces etc. And last but not least; merry Christmas Doc'. You really gave us a good time by posting your great creations on a daily basis. I think I can speak for all of us if I say it was really exciting to see what designs you came up with for all the vehicles and figures. Thanks for that. And also to the others members of Eurobricks; merry Christmas.
  14. I'm only active in the Star Wars subforum, and occasionally in the Sci-Fiction one, but I had to take a look at your cute little trains when I saw it at the frontpage. You really made great representations of those trains in such a small scale. It also remembered me of my period before the dark ages, when I made something similar; an engine with two wagons. Talking about nostalgia. Anway, awesome job. I would love to see more of those micro trains in the future. Also, Santa seems to have a good time over there. And let's not forget about your poem, I always love some background story or some other extra's, kudos for that.
  15. Even though the bottom isn't really finished, I still love your attempt on the Millenium Falcon. I'm sure that with some more time and real bricks, you could even make it much better. Especially filling those gaps is hard in LDD... Yet using flex tube is a pretty smart idea. Overall, the Y-wing is still my personal favorite, but who knows what the A-wing will look like...
  16. We've already been over this numerous times.. TLG will never ever put more than ten minfigures in any Star Wars set. Sure, there are exceptions, like 8038, the The Battle Of Endor. Or the Death Star playset of course, but I consider that UCS, not to mention it's price tag which distinguishes it from the regular Star Wars sets. But just take a look at the other large sets, 10198 Tantive IV, for example. A €140,- set, yet it comes with only five minifigures, whom one is exclusive. And what about 7965 Millenium Falcon? A €120,- set, which comes with five minifigures. No way they would have put in ten or more.. At the other hand, one can also notice that medium-sized sets, let's take 7961 Sith Infiltrator for example, contain a decent amount of minifigures when compared to the larger sets, like the two I was talking about earlier in this post. In my opinion, the amount of minifigures in a set, whether it's small or large, is not that much of difference. Edit; Talking about (too much) minifigures in Star Wars sets, then take a look at this suggestion for Lego Cuusoo...
  17. Great work Doc', as usual. You already mentioned your concerns about the flex tubing, which is the only part I'm not so sure about either. But except from that, great, really great work. But... your Y-wing hasn't been topped yet.
  18. Great work, you managed to make the usual ''mini-vehicle and minifig funny'' more original this time, not in the last place enhanced by the expression on Luke's face...

Can anyone explain for me with Hasbro has to do with this?
  20. Hello and welcome. Always good to see a new face around. As a greeble-lover, I find your modification of the 10030 Imperial Star Destroyer lovely. The official, non-modificated version sets pale in comparison. The amount of greebling you used is very balanced; not too much, not too less. More greebles at the centre, and less around the edges. So, any plans on modificating 10030 even more? I would love to see that.
  21. Haha, great one Oky! I always wanted to see a joke about this particular scene. Still wondering which moron chose the young Skywalker to replace good ol' Vader...
  22. I have to say that some sets look interesting while others are reasonable, but not special at all. The Malevolence looks interesting, not because I'm a big fan of this ship or the CW in particular, but unlike it's counterpart(?), the Venator, the Malevolence looks more realistic and less child-centered. As for the others sets, the Gungan sub looks nice, but I'm just not interested in. Saesee Tiin's Starfighter looks interesting too because it seems a little longer that the previous Starfighter we've seen, and it looks like they used SNOT for the cockpit part. Jabba's palace looks very moderate. It comes with parts I'm not interested in, the figures are though, but they will never be the main reason for buying such a large (and most likely expensive) set. The Fury Class interceptor is the most interesting one for me. It just has a great look, comes with very nice figures (as far as I can tell) and is part of the EU. It will most likely become part of my wanted list. Talking about wanted lists, so will the Desert Skiff most likely be wanted. The Republic Striker Starfighter won't I can tell you. The Advent calender perhaps, but probably not, as it looks very Phantom Menace oriented.
  23. After checking my lego collection, I found out that I own most of the parts for the Y-wing. It's just that new years eve is coming and I'm running out of money, otherwise I would have done some Bricklink orders by now. But maybe I can just start working on the body for now, as about 70% of my lego percentage consist of bley and dark bley. If swils and others would make some of your builds physically too, we would have realized a significantly part of your creations. Well, if the X-wing, Imperial Shuttle and Y-wing will be made, we would rather have the best actually. I'm really excited about this, I'd already pulled out the bley parts and spread them out at my desk... Please don't! Your Y-wing was looking really great angel. Okay, true, Brickdoctor's attempt on this vehicle was a total win, but the more we build, the more we learn from each other, right?
  24. I see. Well, maybe we could gather some EB members to actually build your whole advent calender physically. The only disadvantage would be that we can't see them all together. I probably wouldn't have the right parts to build even one of your creations in real. But, we would need your permission of course, if we are going to make your LDD designs in real.
  25. Ah, finally one of the three where my interest goes most (together with the A-wing and Millenium Falcon). And I have to say, you didn't disappoint me with this Y-wing Docter. The proportions seem about right, from the shape of the ''head'' till to the size of the engines (although it might give it a robust look, some folks make them way too large ). I believe that most people think that the engines of the Y-wing are pretty big, while they are not that large compared to the body of the ship. Kudos for that. Those engine domes work fine for me, they are no eye-catcher in any negative way. My only concern goes to the pins located at the tubes in the back; they might be the right size, but due to all the edges on them, they are somewhat too notable in my opinion. At the other hand, it's not that big of a deal, and it doesn't look bad or so... The well-greebled body is great, but the ''head'' is even better. It has the right shape, not too curved, as most people seem to think it's so, but almost straight, with only a very slight bow. Except from the engines there is nothing to complain about. I understand it had to be hard to design the engines, I have tried myself a while back when I was working on a midi-scale Y-wing, and due to the fact that I couldn't find a solution for the engine domes, I gave up. You didn't, (couldn't actually) and I'm really glad you made this excellent Y-wing in such a tough scale. I haven't seen any other Y-wings in this scale yet (bring it on with your links fallenangel ), so I would love to see this one in real. And that's my question too actually, are you going to make your LDD creations, or some of them, in real?
