Don't you mean the top? Well, that's what the picture shows us at least..

As an dedicated OT fan, I really love this TIE fighter. First I have to say; I haven't seen anything like this before when it comes to the cockpit. But I see you have left space in the center, where the droid arms are about to connect. How about connecting them all via a 3x3 dish? Would that fit? Your build is very clean, SNOT'ted and you made use of some interesting techniques. Just one more thing, don't the bley ''stripes'' at both sides of the wings stick out too much? They are two plates high, yet if you could reduce it to just one, that would be perfect. Oh well, you probably did that because you had to connect it to the wings...as lego doesn't float (...yet ). Anyway, I think you made an overall nice representation of the TIE fighter. If I nitpick there are some points that could use a little extra work, but don't take that too seriously, the look of this ship is great and you certainly made it accurate enough to satisfy most of the OT fans if you ask me.
  3. I dont' see what's the point of lego minecraft; it would take loads of bricks while the playability is even less compared to the game - one can't dig tunnels for example.

What I like about this is it's simplicity yet it's accuracy and finished look. It looks like a fan improved version of an official lego Star Wars set. The great minifigures with their smoothed out helmets are perfected, and are the finishing touch for your project. Especially the tan version is great though. Any plans on combining those vehicles in a larger scene?
  5. The battle droid isn't that bad, it's just a rather simple creation in contrast to the awesome X-wing and Lambda class shuttle. Have you though about using technic parts for the droid? That might give it a more skeletal look and being less bulky.

Besides the thickness (no, I'm not going to complain about that, as others already did that for me ), the first thing I noticed was the windscreen. It's the most accurate one if you ask me. Most people seem to prefer the windscreen given in 8092, which does give the speeder a sleek look, yet it's just not accurate at all, as you can see in the picture. The windscreen should be somewhat high, and bending inwards, which makes that the dashboard control panel is all roofed. So, in my opinion, you chose the most accurate windscreen available.
  7. The stormtrooper face print...? Yech! The first thing I'm going to do is replace this head with the current stormtrooper one.
  8. The head seems a little odd indeed, BUT, at the other hand, it's nice to see a it made not using the technique M<0><0<DSWIM does.
  9. Yes, I just noticed that too. I'm sure the cones and stud on top are shiny while the other parts are not.
  10. Can't wait for the X-wing. And the A-wing. And the Y-wing. Especially the last one actually. I am dying to see those vehicles in midi-scale.
  11. Good ol' Doc, never fails to surprise us. Let me say that all those MOC's are pretty amazing. I'm sure that if you would (could) put more time in them, the quality of these models would increase significantly. But that's the important thing of course; creating high-quality LDD work while having only a little time. Kudos for that Doc. Your Radiant IV was very nice, so was Gunray, even though he is pretty plain. The chair isn't that spectaculair either, but you did manage to make an accurate model of it. The spider droid was sweet, and the Slave I is your best one for now. Can't wait for tomorrow, to check your next attempt on recreating the advent calendar models.

Most impressive indeed! I have to say that especially the tracks plowing through the jungle are really nice. I've looked for some reference pictures and your version looks pretty accurate, the only (minor) change I would make concerns the rocket launchers on top; you might use wedge plates to make it join the hull perfectly.
  14. I don't believe so. Just compare the bley at the front with the stud (astromech droid) on top. The ''astromech droid'' is clearly more shiny.

I've received a lego large order a while ago, including two larger sets and a couple of smaller ones, including battlepacks, and even though it took me almost the whole day to build it, I still couldn't refuse to build it all in once. The only break was dinner. If I would have a couple of SW sets from '99 or 2000, I probably would not open them, but keep it as collector items. Neither I would sell them though, I buy lego because I like LOVE it, and not to make money out of unopened sets.
  16. As I'm more and more into the OT, some purchases can't be stopped. I decided to only get my hands on a minimum om CW sets, and only if they appeal to me highly. Anyway, I bought myself the latest Millenium Falcon as a present for ''Sinterklaas'', a Dutch national feast.
  17. I'll certainly keep my eyes on this one. Creating all the Star Wars advent calender models in larger, and better versions, is a really neat idea. What I like about this project of yours, is that you don't have any choice in the vehicles, figures or structures you have to make, which forces you to come up with new ideas and building techniques - especially with the 1-day deadline. Your first build; the Radiant IV is great. Not too complicated, which is obvious, but you still managed to make it accurate. It will be really great to see more of the vehicles in this, what I assume, is midi-scale. Especially the Y- and A-wing. Can't wait for those two. Your attempt on the minifigures will be interesting too; are you going for moodland-scale? Oh well, guess I'll just have to wait to see it. That's indeed a part of christmas; waiting for your presents (in this case LDD models) and not knowing what it's going to be... (or HOW it's going to be, to be more precise)

My thought. Although I can't change the showcased model anymore, I can change the current file. I think a minifigure pilot would look way to small however, and make this look even more odd. A brickbuilt pilot would be a solution, but that would be really hard to create if you ask me. Too hard actually, especially in LDD. Maybe we can M<0><0<DSWIM for a solution...?
  19. The upper part of the cockpit is a different sort of white due to the fact that it is a transparant piece with print.
  20. The point is that TLG has to improve the detail on it's minifigs if they want to keep selling their product in the record numbers they currently do. Which is apart from the fact that a significant amount of the Star Wars community here, doesn't like this overprint at all. Including me. However, I can imagine that kids will prefer the detailed figures, as they want it to be as real as in the television series. But, that doesn't mean we have to like those new figures. I've had Star Wars sets from the beginning, when the first ones were released, and if the detail on them would be the same today, I wouldn't mind. Absolutely, I love the somewhat more detailed figures, but the amount of detailing we've seen this year is more than enough for me. Except from the introduce of the flesh tone though.
  21. My favorite(s)? Both R5-D8 and the Death Star Trooper. Those two stand out the most if you ask me, and as I'm not much of an CW fan, the choice isn't that hard.
  22. We do take it easy, we just don't like people spamming and adding immature posts. There are enough forums aimed at lego fans of all sort, whether they fancy Star Wars or Lego City. If some folks have the need to post nonsense all the way, they have that ability on tens of other websites, we just don't want them to do it here. Besides that, even though this is an AFOL forum, anyone younger than eighteen acting mature is welcome as far as I know. It's not like any adults being spammers are tolerated because of their age.
  23. I spotted this on the blog at first, and just scrolled along it. When I went back to check this creation out, I was surprised this was all made of only one set! This is absolutely excellent work, you never failed me to amaze me with both your alternate- or mini/micro builds. I strongly recommend you to keep those builds coming, I think I can speak for all of us if I say we love your creations.
