City '09?
There have been murmured whisperings of a Town Plan style fairground/ theme park set so this seems entirely possible. Maybe the Indy Temple of Doom track could be put to use as a rollercoaster? It seems odd that they'd create a new mould just for that one set. Thanks for those turbine pics, zzz. As suspected, they're nowhere near the scale of the Vestas promo.

You have to hold your nerve when something is 'Sold Out'. If they don't de-list it immediately there is the possibility that another batch may become available on a limited basis. We don't know if this is a 'real' return or if they just found some more out the back of the warehouse Since it's been around for 2 years, I suspect the latter. That seems to be standard practice with certain kinds of card. What happens is they put a hold on your account when you place your order, but only charge you when the order goes through. But that initial 'authorisation' hold (to see if you have the cash) stays around for about a week, as you say. I've found they only do this with my debit card; real credit card companies seem to be a bit stricter about companies taking their money willy-nilly for no real reason.

Earth Hour
As a Sydneysider, I very much enjoyed Earth Hour's sequel yesterday evening - the two hour involuntary blackout suffered in the central city and inner suburbs!

Quality control on Dark (Earth) Blue bricks?
Giorgio Armani is never photographed wearing black as it makes you look washed out; instead he wears dark navy blue so it gives the impression he is wearing black even thought he isn't

The thing is, both the 10188 Death Star and 10189 Taj Mahal were sent inside their own separate shipping boxes, with the latter sent to me INSIDE one of the regular shipping boxes. I don't know who would think placing a heavy set on top of the larger but flimsy lid of another set wouldn't incur damage to the latter set, as happened here. I mean, it's a $400 set! You think they'd take some precautions. I also made an order a few months back where they 'forgot' to include a Kraken Attackin' Maybe the Czech factory workers are too busy selling their illegally leaked sets on auction websites to pack anything properly EDIT: hewman, thankyou for your kind words. My minifigs do feel most condoled

A little off topic, but I wanted to share my pain with my friends here This is what $100 Express shipping buys you: When consumers asked Lego to be more economical with packing, this isn't what they had in mind: Looks like somebody dropped something on the dropship: The King's Castle Siege ended prematurely when the defences had been flattened before the set could even be opened: So what do you think I should do? I don't feel like sending this all back to the courier company at my cost and then waiting several weeks for a replacement. Especially when I paid Express shipping. Sinner, you can move this post to the appropriate place once everyone has expressed their condolences

Myer One cardholders (the rewards scheme, not the credit card) got a mailout with vouchers today - for every $75 you spend you get $20 off toys from 2-5 April. It also contained vouchers so friends who aren't cardholders can get the discount too.

10190 Market Street is back from the dead. I doubt it will last long - Ebay prices are already ludicrous for this one so don't hesitate if you do want this set.

Does any technically-minded bod have any idea why the K10194 Emerald Night collection (including power functions and track) is not available in Australia, although the UK and other European countries can order it? I noticed this earlier with the RC racers sets and also the Power Functions control switch and light that are also unavailable here. Is this a legal issue/ technical issue to do with the specifications of the new power functions system? Or have we just dropped off the radar? Does anyone know? EDIT: I note we can order the 10V transformer but not the battery box it recharges!

REVIEW: 10195 Republic Dropship & AT-OT
Great review! Thanks dunamis! You've hit the nail on the head about the price and figs. Last year before the Clone Battle Packs were released we'd probably be feeling amazed to see so many clones in one set, but this really just doesn't cut it at all. At the very least, how much could it have cost to give us a full complement of clones? It's not like they'd even need to throw in the extra pieces needed to make the walker for the Battle Pack! Two things I can't get over: a) That they used the horrible box which you have to destroy to open, when all the rest of the large (and suitably expensive) Exclusives are usually packaged with care and precision b) For that price, I would want printed cockpit pieces on the AT-OT. I can live with stickers most of the time, but this is unforgivable. I don't see it falling to Twilight levels of discount though. Most people like this set, whereas disregard for the Twilight seemed almost total from the get-go.

Great article. Thanks for the link!

Where have all the pirate sets gone in Australia?
I've seen the 2 impulses in TRU but nothing else so far.

I never seem to have much luck; I put in an over $800 one when the Farm stuff came out and didn't get the supposed auto upgrade to Express shipping - it came standard

Toys R Us stores seem to be based mainly in large cities, whereas Toyworlds are regional. I can't remember the last time I saw a Toyworld, it would have been about 5 years ago when they used to have one in Coffs Harbour (also gone now). I wonder if that means that one of the mid year SW releases will also be a Toyworld exclusive? It will probably be the Hoth battle pack!

I got the green one. It's a shame the mouths are fixed, since the rock monsters are all about the 'nom nom'

Well, I got my issue of Lego Club magazine today, which answered the question of what happened to 7751 Ahsoka's Jedi Starfighter - it's a Toyworld exclusive

REVIEW: 10195 Republic Dropship with AT-OT
That's what I was looking at. Usually it's the *sides* that are stickered if the box is the type that can be slit up the side and then easily flattened.

Don't tell me they packaged this set in those horrible boxes where you have to tear the corners and flip up the lid?

Thanks, ScreamBob ClonePants! I went to Myer Sydney City early and cleared out the Clone battle packs. Yay for me! Boo for anyone that got there after 9 o'clock! (Ok, there weren't that many compared to the zillions of Assassin Droid battlepacks, but it was still a good deal.) Interestingly, I noted that Myer has started selling Belville When did this happen? They also seemed to have put all the AT-TEs and Republic Gunships out the back as there were none there today and heaps a few weeks ago... I doubt they sold out in that time.

Latest Lego Club Magazine...
Umm, no. This urgency to sue is the reason why Lego and most other creative entities refuse unsolicited submissions

Green: A better Color for better building
Poor Erds... You were addicted to Yoda talk in the Academy, and now the Academy has made you addicted to On topic, I wonder if this film has influenced any discussion in the favourite/ least favourite colour thread!

Great and not so great colours
Funny; I love trans-medium blue but despise trans-light blue. Too overused! Too bright and cheap! Trans medium-blue, as introduced in those 2004 Alpha Team snowy rock pieces, is softer and more natural looking, and quite beautiful. The 1x1 round plates and 1x2 bricks are lovely for highlights in icy, wintry landscaping. I'm also not keen on sand red and sand blue. A colour spin-off too far, me thinks. But 10185 Green Grocer managed to rehabilitate sand green for me after its overexposure in the Harry Potter sets, so anything's possible.

What did you buy today?
Yes - it's also where the recent Emerald Night leak came from, reviewed on another European website, so obviously security hasn't improved that much. Maybe we'll get early releases of the new City line from S@H? I guess it's possible. Normally they tend to do a whole lot of simultaneous releases around June, so maybe they're just warehousing the sets until then.

What did you buy today?
More like fell out of the back of the Czech factory (It's a Euro release - no piece counts.) Interesting that they're apparently in production so early.
