Perfect! Really, if they had Squidman's Pitstop last year, the line really deserves a Space Pimp's Palace

I'm trying to be tactful I can't say I ever went to a Starbucks and I hated that massive steel and glass one along Castlereagh Street.

Thanks TB! That's very kind of you. Sadly most of the Starbucks in Australia closed in the Great Purge of 08

Put Space Pimp from the limo set in the Paradisa set and suddenly it all makes sense

*sobs* It's all true. I wanted one too. The MOC expert tag carries the most street cred I do love my little Indy hat, from winning the Indy comp in 2008. I'll never change that even as the others might fluctuate
  6. I that super bricky built Portal of Atlantis set (even if here it is missing the actual Portal)! Lots of great pieces, very few large parts, and it looks like a LEGO superbase should! Nice, original design too That skele Aquaraider is hilarious - I wonder if they had bulk helmets left over from 07 or if they had to do another print run? The Atlantis diver team base on the other hand looks All those exposed Technic beams and the mix of red and dark bley isn't as nice as in the Neptune Carrier. The shape looks kind of random too. I would have preferred something smaller and better designed - this looks like a typical 'Let's make this look as big as possible using the least amount of parts' design which I thought we'd moved on from.

Citadel of Orlan! Hahahaha! That's an odd placeholder name. The new alien looks nice but I'm not sure about the vehicles. It seems odd to have such a massive space-limo and the Police vehicle looks like a LAAT with cropped wings. I'm sure kids will love the SP3 station but it looks a bit lacking design-wise to me.

Not hugely different to me, then. It does look more compact than the Fantasy castle. And by compact, I mean 'smaller' This isn't a bad thing, as the large Fantasy Castle could be difficult to move around. Even with the Trolls Fortress it was strong and sturdy enough to be picked up and carried in 2 hands. The helmets do look silver to me, but the Fantasy line helmets were metallic silver, not pearl. Maybe these ones are the new pearlly-metallic colour which debuted in the Atlantis sets (such as the small the propeller pieces). If that is the case, they look a lot shinier in person than on any pics I've seen.

Yeah, these don't look so different from the Fantasy line to me. Small sets - same basic catapults and a mini wagon - with dark green/ gold cheese stuck all over it! Dragon Knights Tower - really just a fortified gate with a hinged side wall - reminds me of the KK2 Scorpion Prison Cage - with those end-cap roof pieces in dark green stuck all over it! Knights Castle - not hugely different from the Fantasty one - except with red cheese stuck all over it, and end-cap pieces in red instead of pearl gold and roof slopes in red instead of navy blue!

  14. bluemoose over at brickset says the set is already out at Milton Keynes Yay! Exiciting! The price is being reported at GBP99.99, so while it is an amazing set, it's hard not to feel ripped off since LEGO upped the prices for the two most recent Exclusives on S@H in Jan but doesn't appear to have changed the price in many other regions. So now we in Aus pay the equivalent of GBP166 or EUR190 Plus the expensive and slow shipping.
  15. You just like to argue. I think we all realise by now that US and Europe/ rest of world often have different dates. Tan comparison!
  16. It's listed on the European S@H now too. 26 Feb? Ooh, dark tan hair on the 'groom' in the window display
  17. Thanks for the review, parchioso! These are not my cup of tea, but I don't hate them, unlike most AFOLs seem too. I actually really like that they look totally different from Bionicle characters. Even the new Hero Factory sets look too Bionicleish for what is supposed to be a total relaunch. So yes, I do appreciate the design of these characters and I bet small kids will love 'em. This poor Spidermonkey looks like a dissected frog in this pic

  20. Happy birthday! Of course, everyone knows KimT doesn't get older every year - instead, his Sith powers increase Also, as a special treat, he bans one annoying member for every year his physical form has been on Earth. Watch out, underage Star Wars fans!

Brickset's relatively new minifig section sucks its data directly from bricklink, so I don't think there's any significance to the numbering being the same on both sites I also don't believe they are official numbers. Catalogued and inventoried sets (including figures!) often appear on bricklink before they are officially on sale from S@H, and I don't see LEGO feeding that data to anyone pre-release. Remember, LEGO only *just* released an official colour chart after how many years of BL and peeron being in operation? In the BL forums there's a whole lot of discussions about inventory items etc, and you may be better exploring there to find out how exactly it works.

Thanks for the review! I picked this up too and was pleasantly surprised. The limo is kind of cramped but it looks OK. The helicopter is better than expected and I'm even adjusting to the new nose pieces (I still prefer the Sea Plane ). I do like that this looks like a helicopter and is not overly small, overly large or too complicated like the World City ones and the 2006 Rescue one. There are lots of nice parts in the sets too, like the blue plane windows and blue cupboards. Most of all, the concept is just great. Who doesn't love a set based around whisking a businessman from his air taxi into an intimately cramped limousine where he sits sipping champagne with an attractive woman?
  23. There also comes the point when using tiles becomes aesthetically jarring and stand out rather than blend in. I find the front of the Freeco speeder like this - the 2x4 stickers square tiles ruin the curved lines of the rest of the front of the craft. I think even the new Valentines promo would look better without the tiles at the top as they add too much height and ruin the curve:
