Yes, let's just take a step back and relax. While it is interesting to see the diversity of opinion about the new piece, let's keep it friendly. If you feel that anyone has overstepped the mark, please use the REPORT button and alert a moderator. This is the discussion thread for all City sets, it is not a topic to discuss who has more experience in the field of aviation or hanging layouts or what is naturalistic vs LEGO's version I still don't get what's so exciting about the 2-wide cheese I kind of glossed over that small promo plane before but to me it looks like a less-good version of the great one with the icecream stand that was released this year. Interesting use of the new bubble cockpit in a different colour, however.
  2. Great topic, Legoliner Pilot! The only LEGO I get under the tree is stuff I put there myself I bought a MISB 6441 Divers Deep Refuge a month or two back, so I have wrapped that and stuck it under the tree. It will give me great pleasure to open and savour such a wonderful classic set at Christmas time.
  3. Exactly. I don't know how all the Finlandians fit in this one bottle, must be cramped in there... Thanks for the wonderful details about Aprahanti menstruation, Sandy Just what the game needed - more body horror
  4. Well, the 10210 Imperial Flagship has a price: $AUD279.99 Much better than I expected. Looks like the US and the UK are getting the price rise, not us. (Flagship is $US180 and GBP140, whereas the 10197 Fire Brigade and 10198 Tantive IV, also $AUD279.99, are listed at $US150 and GBP97.15).

Calm down, Oky, the first post was updated 8 Dec Everything is in the Pinned Index, as well. I hadn't seen that brickset pic before, and I'll add Build A Zurg. Prices can wait until they go live at S@H since reports are so variable. I'll add that rumour set too - don't know why that dropped off.

  7. There's not much left from 2007, look at the 'Products Launched' links I posted a page or so ago. Thanks for the news! You're right, it's all pretty crap! Last year the sale started on Dec 26 - not before Xmas - I know because I put in an order when the new stuff came out, then had to amend it a day later when the sales were listed

Thanks, TinyPies! BOOOOOOOO! I was really hoping for some proper set pics to get me through the next few months. All this Toy Story and Ben 10 stuff is doing my head in! Give me some normal figs, pleeeeeease!
  9. I sincerely doubt it. I've never seen any new releases hit the shelves in Sydney before the end of the first week of Jan. Often new sets seem to crop up in Bris Vegas first, from reports in this mammoth thread! We may be lucky this year, but I am not holding my breath. More likely that K-Mart was just getting an aggressive jump on its competitors by selling as much as they could, as soon as they could. It does seem kind of premature to have empty shelves two weeks before Christmas I wonder if there are any clueless parents finalising their $349 Christmas lay-by AT-OTs now...
  10. The dates for these things often dance around. I'd be amazed (and a bit annoyed) if it wasn't available immediately when all the other new sets get listed at S@H too. Last year it was Xmas Day; in previous years more like Jan 1. So we'll see. Clearly they have stock available and warehoused and have done for a while - like most of the new sets.

whung the wunderbar brings us an image of a brand spanking new CITY set, the 3222 Helicopter with Limo and some nicer pics of sets we may have glimpsed before... Click here for more CITY box pics and to join the discussion!
  12. Svelte replied to Christian's post in a topic in LEGO Town
Yes indeed. I just want the limo! Either they'll be a lot of lonely blue helicppters on ebay/ bricklink. It's a great concept for a LEGO set!

From the pics popping up around in other themes, it sounds like the Aus/ NZ Legoclub catalogue has been sent to members (boo! I don't have mine yet) - we often see sets we haven't seen before in these (like last year's Dooku's Solar Sailer and this year's Power Miners underground mining station). Hopefully someone cluey will post decent quality pics for sets across unseen themes fairly soon for ALL themes
  14. Interesting; I didn't know that, but it makes sense. Thanks for the info, Alldarker!
  15. Maybe the contrast is all whacked, it's so hard to tell. Here's the pic I was thinking of:
  16. Squid King looks ordinary red there - he/she/it seemed dark red from the pics. Boo!
  17. Svelte replied to Derek's post in a topic in LEGO Licensed
If anyone has the new Aus/ NZ catalogue with pics of the Jan releases, please scan or take decent, clear pics and post here! Thanks!
  18. Yes, same guy. See here for more info: http://io9.com/5423067/cruel-thomas-dolby-...rs-movie-rumors
  19. And the correction, from the same guy! http://blog.thomasdolby.com/?p=968
  20. Svelte replied to Pugsly's post in a topic in LEGO Licensed
It looks that way, yes. Except that Buzz is only half from the other factory - his regular length legs and torso are normal parts, just like the army men. In his case only the specialty bits of the figure are bagged. It appears that the new longer legs and new longer arm pieces are being made in the secondary factory as well - so Woody comes fully bagged, but Buzz only half-bagged.

I've noticed nowadays that every time they fix a colour, they mess up somewhere else Note the unprinted neck on the torso and the square production marks on the inner arms. Same as the dodgy battlepacks and magnet sets.
  22. Svelte replied to Pugsly's post in a topic in LEGO Licensed
Well, for one fantastic fig x 4 - and a printed hat
  23. I thought they were flat saucepans/ frying pans.
  24. Svelte replied to Pugsly's post in a topic in LEGO Licensed
Oh, there's plenty of variety! Just compare the green tiles to everything else. Lots of shade and light! I know what you mean though It's like some mod 'concept' of a LEGO set, rather than an actual one
  25. Svelte replied to Pugsly's post in a topic in LEGO Licensed
I love those new minifig stand pieces - they will make great lilypads! Thanks for another exclusive review, Pugsly! I think this is *the* must-have from the Toy Story line
