10211 Grand Emporium
I really like your Flower Shop , but I am a little mixed about the thought of a predominantly yellow, bley and black colour scheme. One of the nice things about the Modular line is the better palette of rare colours in interesting pieces, such as Cafe Corner's dark red roof or the sand green walls of Green Grocer. You couldn't call yellow rare and we just had a majority-bley modular building in the Fire Brigade. As has been noted, yellow is one of the worst offenders for colour quality problems (Anakin's Y-Wing and the City Corner bus looked even worse than earlier sets in terms of the mix) so I do hope that this is fixed soon. Srill until we see pics (and I doubt this will be for a while, as usually the March releases are kept tightly under wraps) this is all just speculation

2010 themes and sets?
I doubt that. They'll just do an Advent Calendar for whatever theme they're planning to kill off the year after Seriously, I imagine there will be another themed one. If they don't revive Belville in 2010 (and we've seen no news of this) then I imagine it will be some other theme, old or new. They seem to realise there is a market for alternates to the basic City advent Calendar, thankfully.

Space Police 2010
Look real to me - that's the Agents cockpit in a new colour, and the background art looks official. The little star usually means exclusive when it appears in Aus/ NZ catalogues. It doesn't look too bad for a small set.

7020 Army of Vikings with Heavy Artillery Wagon
Thanks for this sweet review! I really only bought this one when it came out for the great value figs and to get some of those sweet printed 1x6 tiles! The main model was ridiculously large and already a repeat in some ways from the more compact set we'd seen the year before. That said, the catapult did work well and the idea of a cartridge went on to become popular in other lines such as Castle and even the Republic Shuttle. PS, I added a poll

10211 Grand Emporium
Thanks for this amazing news, legomilk! It will be great to have another corner building to round out the street And I'm glad after Fire Brigade we're going back to a civilian setting with a large shopping centre. Grey and yellow with black windows seems like an interesting combination, but we'll see how this pans out. March 2010 would put it back in the original release slot for the first 2 buildings, which is not too long to wait at all! Thanks again!

New LEGO Indiana Jones Armor Case for Nintendo DS
Great idea! Yes, the Star Wars one is a little dark and empty looking - Indy is much more attractive. Thanks for the news!

Imperial monitoring station
Get over the trees, people! They're alien trees, OK? Move on! Lovely detailing and an inspired use of those 1x4 bricks which hold rails. The sand blue side building is a great addition.

Hot news coming soon
legomilk is one of EB's most reliable members for news, so be patient with his English! In the past he has given us upcoming set lists months in advance of any other source He's obviously seen something interesting. A 'model home'? If it's not the Apple Tree House from the Creator line, then perhaps its something else - maybe even a new modular house or building? As he says, he can't take pictures, so he's going to describe it for us as best he can

Newbie, how long will 10182 Cafe last?
Yes, I don't understand the urge to speed-build or rush through a set as quickly as possible. I like to take my time and savour the experience. If I spend that much on a set, I want to have a memorable experience

Happy Birthday Hinckley, Mr, Mandalorian and Mr Spielbrick

Imitating professional Lego designs
allanp sums it up pretty much perfectly. For set designers, creating new models is a full-time job. It would be interesting to know how many models a year someone in the Exclusives team is responsible for. Star Wars has its own department, so excluding exclusives from that line, in 2009 we had the 10193 Medieval Market Village, the 10194 Emerald Night, 10196 Carousel and 10199 Winter Toy Shop. We know that at least the 10196 Carousel was a joint collaboration, so that gives you at least 3 months per other Exclusive set as your full-time occupation as designer. Considering that most AFOLs have full-time jobs and personal lives, the amount of amazing work that is produced is very impressive! The Exclusives are in a privileged spot, however - if you are a regular reader of Brickjournal, you can see how work produced by fan builders gets streamlined and stripped down for official set production (such as the work done on the SP3 line).
